Reactions of eaq -, H-atom and OH radicals with 3-pyridine methanol (3-PM) and 3-pyridine carboxaldehyde (3-PCA) have been studied at various pHs using pulse radiolysis technique. eaq - was found to be highly reactive with both 3-PM and 3-PCA (k approx. 1010 dm3 mol 1 s-1). Semi-reduced species formed in both cases were strongly reducing in nature. In the case of 3-PM, electron addition leads to the formation of pyridinyl radicals whereas in the case of 3-PCA, PyCHOH type radicals are formed. At pH 6.8, H-atom reaction with 3-PCA also gives semi-reduced species (PyCHOH), whereas at pH 1, H-atoms add to the ring. (CH3)2 ·COH radicals were found to transfer electron to 3-PCA at all the pH values tested and by making use of changes in the absorption spectra, pK a values of the semi-reduced species were determined to be 4.5 and 10.6. OH radicals were found to undergo addition reaction with 3-PCA, whereas in the case of 3-PM they reacted by H-abstraction as well as addition reaction. By following the yield of methylviologen radical cation formed by electron transfer reaction, it was estimated that approx. 50% of OH radicals react with 3-PM by H-atom abstraction at pH 6.8, giving reducing radicals, whereas at pH 3.2, where 3-PM is in the protonated form, the same is only about 10%. At pH 13, O radical anions were found to react exclusively by H-atom abstraction. Reaction of SO4 radicals with 3-PCA was found to give a species identical to the one formed by one electron reduction of nicotinic acid at acidic pH values.  相似文献

Summary This paper studies the flow of an incompressible, constant density micropolar fluid past a stretching sheet. The governing boundary layer equations of the flow are solved numerically using a globally convergent homotopy method in conjunction with a least change secant update quasi-Newton algorithm. The flow pattern depends on three non-dimensional parameters. Some interesting results are illustrated graphically and discussed.
Résumé Nous étudions l'écoulement d'un fluid micropolaire et incompressible, de densité constante, le long d'une surface qui l'étend. Les équations de la couche limite qui régissent l'écoulement sont résolues numériquement. On utilise un algorithme quasi-Newtonien de type least change secant update avec une méthode homotopique /`a convergence globale. Certains résultats intéressants sont discutés et illustrés graphiquement.

Summary In this paper we have reported our results on the attempted separation of copper(II), nickel(II), cobalt(II) and iron(III) in mixtures by filter paper strip chromatography, using aqueous ethanol as solvent. The effect of the presence of varying concentrations of citrate ion as a complexing agent in the mixtures has been studied. The complexing agent has been added in the metal solution, and not in the solvent as usually done by previous workers.  相似文献

Polyphosphate esters were synthesized from phenolphthalein and aryl phosphorodichloridates by interfacial polycondensation using a phase transfer catalyst. The polymers were characterized by IR, 1H-, 13C-, and 31P-NMR spectroscopy. The molecular weights were calculated by end group analysis using 31P-NMR spectral data. The thermal stability of the polymers was studied by thermogravimetry and the flammability was investigated by measuring limiting oxygen index values.  相似文献

Reliable N-alkylations of secondary amines have been developed. By using DIAD and TPP (or PS-TPP) a variety of secondary amines can be converted to the corresponding tertiary amines in good to excellent yields with diverse alkylhalides; no formation of quaternary amine salts are observed. These protocols are amenable to combinatorial chemistry libraries, and are also useful for the syntheses of secondary amines by an acid lysis of the cleavable tertiary amino resins.  相似文献

The effect of cobalt salicylate on the oxidative degradation and ignition of polystyrene has been studied. It was found that cobalt salicylate sensitizes both the degradation and ignition of polystyrene by facilitating electron-transfer processes in the propagation step. From thermochemical and kinetic studies it was found that the cobalt ion, owing to its ability to exist in variable valence states, promotes electron transfer in the propagation step of polymer degradation, increasing the rate of propagation and consequently the overall rate. Using solid-phase thermal ignition theory, an attempt has been made to explain the sensitization of ignition by the cobalt ion.
Zusammenfassung Die Wirkung von Kobaltsalicylat auf den oxydativen Abbau und die Entzündung von Polystyrol wurde untersucht. Es wurde festgestellt, daß Kobaltsalicylat sowohl den Abbau als auch die Entzündung des Polystyrols durch Erleichterung von Elektrontransferprozessen im Kettenfortpflanzungsschritt begünstigt. Thermochemische und kinetische Untersuchungen ergeben, daß das Kobaltion infolge seiner Fähigkeit, in mehreren Valenzstufen aufzutreten, den Elektronentransfer im Kettenfortpflanzungsschritt erleichtert wodurch die Geschwindigkeit der Kettenfortpflanzung und damit die Geschwindigkeit des Gesamtprozesses erhöht wird. Basierend auf der Theorie der thermischen Festphasenentzündung wird ein Versuch unternommen, Erleichterung der Entzündung durch Kobaltionen zu erklären.

A simple and inexpensive method for immobilizing alpha-amylase from Bacillus circulans GRS 313 on coconut fiber was developed. The immobilization conditions for highest efficiency were optimized with respect to immobilization pH of 5.5, 30 degrees C, contact time of 4 h, and enzyme to support a ratio of 1:1 containing 0.12 mg/mL of protein. The catalytic properties of the immobilized enzyme were compared with that of the free enzyme. The activity of amylase adsorbed on coconut fiber was 38.7 U/g of fiber at its optimum pH of 5.7 and 48 degrees C, compared with the maximum activity of 40.2 U/mL of free enzyme at the optimum pH of 4.9 and 48 degrees C. The reutilization capacity of the immobilized enzyme was up to three cycles.  相似文献

Solid phase crystallization of plasma-enhanced chemical-vapor-deposited (PECVD) amorphous silicon (alpha-Si:H) in alpha-Si:H/Al and Al/alpha-Si:H structures has been investigated using transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and X-ray diffraction (XRD). Radiative heating has been used to anneal films deposited on carbon-coated nickel (Ni) grids at temperatures between 200 and 400 degrees C for TEM studies. alpha-Si:H films were deposited on c-Si substrates using high vacuum (HV) PECVD for the XRD studies. TEM studies show that crystallization of alpha-Si:H occurs at 200 degrees C when Al film is deposited on top of the alpha-Si:H film. Similar behavior was observed in the XRD studies. In the case of alpha-Si:H deposited on top of Al films, the crystallization could not be observed at 400 degrees C by TEM and even up to 500 degrees C as seen by XRD.  相似文献
