An n-type semiconducting diamond film has been synthesized by the hot filament CVD method using diphosphorus pentaoxide as the doping source. The obtained film was identified as polycrystalline diamond containing few sp2 components by means of several methods including Raman spectroscopy. By making use of a sum rule, the exchange contribution to the grand partition function is obtained for a two-dimensional electron fluid in a strong magnetic field at low temperatures. The dHvA type oscillations of the dielectric constant, internal energy and effectiveg factor are derived explicitly. We have computed the energy of the gravitational waves induced by a particle with nonzero orbital angular momentum μLz plunging into a Kerr black hole in an equatorial plane. It is found that for the same |Lz| a corotating particle emits more energy than a counter-rotating one, which is due to the change of the frequency of the quasi-normal mode with the increase of the angular momentum of the black hole. 相似文献

A nitroxyl‐radical‐catalyzed oxidative coupling reaction between amines with an N‐protecting electron‐withdrawing group (EWG) and silylated nucleophiles was developed to furnish coupling products in high yields, thus opening up new frontiers in organocatalyzed reactions. This reaction proceeded through the activation of N‐halogenated amides by a nitroxyl‐radical catalyst, followed by carbon–carbon coupling with silylated nucleophiles. Studies of the reaction mechanism indicated that the nitroxyl radical activates N‐halogenated amides, which are generated from N‐EWG‐protected amides and a halogenation reagent, to give the corresponding imines. 相似文献

We report herein a comparison of the photophysics of a series of polythiophenes with ionization potentials ranging from 4.8 to 5.6 eV as pristine films and when blended with 5 wt % 1-(3-methoxycarbonyl)propyl-1-phenyl-[6,6]C61 (PCBM). Three polymers are observed to give amorphous films, attributed to a nonplanar geometry of their backbone while the other five polymers, including poly(3-hexylthiophene), give more crystalline films. Optical excitation of the pristine films of the amorphous polymers is observed by transient absorption spectroscopy to give rise to polymer triplet formation. For the more crystalline pristine polymers, no triplet formation is observed, but rather a short-lived (approximately 100 ns), broad photoinduced absorption feature assigned to polymer polarons. For all polymers, the addition of 5 wt % PCBM resulted in 70-90% quenching of polymer photoluminescence (PL), indicative of efficient quenching of polythiophene excitons. Remarkably, despite this efficient exciton quenching, the yield of dissociated polymer+ and PCBM- polarons, assayed by the appearance of a long-lived, power-law decay phase assigned to bimolecular recombination of these polarons, was observed to vary by over 2 orders of magnitude depending upon the polymer employed. In addition to this power-law decay phase, the blend films exhibited short-lived decays assigned, for the amorphous polymers, to neutral triplet states generated by geminate recombination of bound radical pairs and, for the more crystalline polymers, to the direct observation of the geminate recombination of these bound radical pairs to ground. These observations are discussed in terms of a two-step kinetic model for charge generation in polythiophene/PCBM blend films analogous to that reported to explain the observation of exciplex-like emission in poly(p-phenylenevinylene)-based blend films. Remarkably, we find an excellent correlation between the free energy difference for charge separation (deltaG(CS)rel) and yield of the long-lived charge generation, with efficient charge generation requiring a much larger deltaG(CS)rel than that required to achieve efficient PL quenching. We suggest that this observation is consistent with a model where the excess thermal energy of the initially formed polaron pairs is necessary to overcome their Coulombic binding energy. This observation has important implications for synthetic strategies to optimize organic solar cell performance, as it implies that, at least devices based on polythiophene/PCBM blend films, a large deltaG(CS)rel (or LUMO level offset) is required to achieve efficient charge dissociation. 相似文献

Here we report the development of fluorogenic substrates for glutathione S-transferase (GST), a multigene-family enzyme mainly involved in detoxification of endogenous and exogenous compounds, including drug metabolism. GST is often overexpressed in a variety of malignancies and is involved in the development of resistance to various anticancer drugs. Despite the medical significance of this enzyme, no practical fluorogenic substrates for fluorescence imaging of GST activity or for high-throughput screening of GST inhibitors are yet available. So, we set out to develop new fluorogenic substrates for GST. In preliminary studies, we found that 3,4-dinitrobenzanilide (NNBA) is a specific substrate for GST and established the mechanisms of its glutathionylation and denitration. Using these results as a basis for off/on control of fluorescence, we designed and synthesized new fluorogenic substrates, DNAFs, and a cell membrane-permeable variant, DNAT-Me. These fluorogenic substrates provide a dramatic fluorescence increase upon GST-catalyzed glutathionylation and have excellent kinetic parameters for the present purpose. We were able to detect nuclear localization of GSH/GST activity in HuCCT1 cell lines with the use of DNAT-Me. These results indicate that the newly developed fluorogenic substrates should be useful not only for high-throughput GST-inhibitor screening but also for studies on the mechanisms of drug resistance in cancer cells. 相似文献

Electrokinetic effect of the bottom surface of a vessel on pearl-chain formation of silica particles

We have tackled in situ electric conductance measurements under microscopic observations for alignments of silica particles that are induced by ionic polarization of the electrical double layer (EDL) around the particles. Using the in situ conductance measurements, we have presented evidence that electro-osmotic flow at a vessel bottom/water interface would be coupled with the ionic polarization in the EDL of spherical silica particles settling at the bottom (Langmuir 2007, 23, 8797). In this study, we followed this phenomenon further. We altered the zeta potential of a platform of a glass plate on which a pearl chain of silica particles was formed under an ac electric field to control the mobility of electro-osmotic flow at the macroscopic interface of the platform/water. As the magnitude of the zeta potential of the platform increased, the surface distance between neighboring particles in the pearl chains decreased and the in situ conductance totally increased due to the enhancement of the dipole moments induced by the ionic polarizations of the particles. These results could be explained by considering that the electro-osmotic contribution to the surface conduction around the particles would be coupled with that occurring at the platform/water interface. 相似文献

Gold nanoparticles (Au NPs), which are extremely useful materials for imaging and photothermal therapy, typically require a drug delivery system to transport them to the affected tissue and into the cells. Since liposomes are approved as drug carriers, complexes of liposomes with Au NPs were considered ideal solutions to deliver Au NPs to the target site in vivo. In this study, we prepared complexes of various liposomes with Au NPs via physical absorption and characterized them. The time dependency of the surface plasmon resonance of this complex, which is a unique property of Au NPs, shows that the liposomes promote the formation of stable dispersions of Au NPs under isotonic conditions, even though intact Au NPs aggregate immediately. From a release assay of calcein from liposomes and transmission electron microscopy analysis, the Au NPs were complexed with liposomes without membrane disruption. These complexes could be formed by using cationic liposomes and polyethylene glycol-modified liposomes, as well as by using phosphatidylcholine liposomes, which are useful for drug and gene delivery. We proposed this kind of complex as a nanomedicine with diagnostic and therapeutic ability. 相似文献
