Shi and Aharonov have shown that the Toffoli gate and the Hadamard gate give rise to an approximately universal set of quantum computational gates. We study the basic algebraic properties of this system by introducing the notion of Shi-Aharonov quantum computational structure. We show that the quotient of this structure is isomorphic to a structure based on a particular set of complex numbers (the closed disc with center and radius ). Dedicated to Pekka Lahti.  相似文献

We have developed a method for rapid prototyping of hard polymer microfluidic systems using solvent imprinting and bonding. We investigated the applicability of patterned SU-8 photoresist on glass as an easily fabricated template for solvent imprinting. Poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA) exposed to acetonitrile for 2 min then had an SU-8 template pressed into the surface for 10 min, which provided appropriately imprinted channels and a suitable surface for bonding. After a PMMA cover plate had also been exposed to acetonitrile for 2 min, the imprinted and top PMMA pieces could be bonded together at room temperature with appropriate pressure. The total fabrication time was less than 15 min. Under the optimized fabrication conditions, nearly 30 PMMA chips could be replicated using a single patterned SU-8 master with high chip-to-chip reproducibility. Relative standard deviations were 2.3% and 5.4% for the widths and depths of the replicated channels, respectively. Fluorescently labeled amino acid and peptide mixtures were baseline separated using these PMMA microchips in <15s. Theoretical plate numbers in excess of 5000 were obtained for a approximately 3 cm separation distance, and the migration time relative standard deviation for an amino acid peak was 1.5% for intra-day and 2.2% for inter-day analysis. This new solvent imprinting and bonding approach significantly simplifies the process for fabricating microfluidic structures in hard polymers such as PMMA.  相似文献

Two new ligands, 2-[(bis(2-pyridylmethyl)amino)methyl]-4-methylphenol (HL) and 2-[(bis(2-pyridylmethyl)amino)methyl]-4-methyl-6-(methylthio)phenol (HSL), were synthesized and were used to prepare the trinuclear copper(II) complex {[CuSL(Cl)]2Cu}(PF6)2.H2O (1) and the corresponding binuclear complexes [Cu2(SL)2](PF6)2 (2) and [Cu2L2](PF6)2 (3). The crystal structure of 1 shows two different coordination environments: two square base pyramidal centers (Cu1 and Cu1a, related by a C2 axes), acting as ligands of a distorted square planar copper center (Cu2) by means of the sulfur atom of the SCH3 substituent and the bridging phenoxo oxygen atom of the ligand (Cu2-S = 2.294 A). Compounds 2 and 3 show two equivalent distorted square base pyramidal copper(II) centers, bridged in an axial-equatorial fashion by two phenoxo groups, thus defining an asymmetric Cu2O2 core. A long copper-sulfur distance measured in 2 (2.9261(18) A) suggests a weak bonding interaction. This interaction induces a torsion angle between the methylthio group and the phenoxo plane resulting in a dihedral angle of 41.4(5) degrees. A still larger distortion is observed in 1 with a dihedral angle of 74.0(6) degrees. DFT calculations for 1 gave a ferromagnetic exchange between first neighbors interaction, the calculated J value for this interaction being +11.7 cm-1. In addition, an antiferromagnetic exchange for 1 was obtained for the second neighbor interaction with a J value of -0.05 cm-1. The Bleaney-Bowers equation was used to fit the experimental magnetic susceptibility data for 2 and 3; the best fit was obtained with J values of +3.4 and -16.7 cm-1, respectively. DFT calculations for 2 and 3 confirm the nature and the values of the J constants obtained by the fit of the experimental data. ESR and magnetic studies on the reported compounds show a weak exchange interaction between the copper(II) centers. The low values obtained for the coupling constants can be explained in terms of a poor overlap between the magnetic orbitals, due to the axial-equatorial phenoxo bridging mode observed in these complexes.  相似文献

The design, synthesis, properties, and cell imaging applications of a series of 2‐pyridyl disulfide based fluorescent probes (WSP1, WSP2, WSP3, WSP4 and WSP5) for hydrogen sulfide detection are reported. The strategy is based on the dual‐nucleophilicity of hydrogen sulfide. A hydrogen sulfide mediated tandem nucleophilic substitution‐cyclization reaction is used to release the fluorophores and turn on the fluorescence. The probes showed high sensitivity and selectivity for hydrogen sulfide over other reactive sulfur species, including cysteine and glutathione.  相似文献

We report on the first experimental observation of discrete vortex solitons in two-dimensional optically induced photonic lattices. We demonstrate strong stabilization of an optical vortex by the lattice in a self-focusing nonlinear medium and study the generation of the discrete vortices from a broad class of singular beams.  相似文献

We study experimentally the interaction of a soliton with a nonlinear lattice. We observe the formation of a novel type of composite soliton created by strong coupling of mutually incoherent periodic and localized beam components. By imposing an initial transverse momentum on the soliton stripe, we observe the effect of lattice compression and deformation.  相似文献

Mass separated metal and silicon cluster ion beams M n +, ? are produced by sputtering and undergo fragmenting and/or neutralizing collisions at different kinetic energies (100–1800 eV) in Ar and SF6. Fragment patterns induced by rare gas collisions open a way to determine ionization potentials and electron affinities of clusters. These values are compared to known experimental and theoretical data. For negatively charged clusters the absorption in gas targets is mainly due to neutralization, the cross sections varying with cluster material, number of atoms and collision partner from 10 Å2 to about 50 Å2.  相似文献

Surface foliations, vanishing cycles and Poisson manifolds. Afoliated cylinder of a foliated manifold (M,F) is a path of integral loopsc t forF. P. Novikov to study qualitative aspects of codimension one foliations. In this paper we apply this notion to the study of higher codimensional foliations.The first aim is to show the influence that the triviality of vanishing cycles exerts on the topology of thehomotopy groupoid ofF. It is natural to try to reduce the study of triviality to more regular vanishing cycles, as well as to obtain a nice criterion of triviality. In this way, we introduce the notion ofregular vanishing cycle as the orthogonal version (for a riemannian metric onM) of the classical notion of immersed vanishing cycle and the notion ofcoherent vanishing cycle, i.e. an integral discD 1 with boundaryc 1 extends to a global foliated homotopyD t such thatc t is the boundary ofD t for eacht>0. We also prove that the triviality of these vanishing cycles implies the triviality of all vanishing cycles. For compact foliated manifolds, we obtain the following criterion: a regular coherent vanishing cycle is non-trivial if and only if the area of the discsD t converges to infinity.Finally, we give two applications of these results to surface foliations: we generalize the Reeb stability theorem to higher codimensions and we resolve the problem of the symplectic realization of Poisson structures supported by surface foliations.

Stable isotopes and electrical conductivity in groundwater were used as natural tracers to adjust the hydrogeological conceptual model in one of the largest catchments within the inter-mountainous Pampa plain, Argentina. Geostatistical tools were used to define the model that best fitted the spatial distribution of each tracer, and information was obtained in areas where there was a lack of data. The conventional isotopic analysis allowed the identification of three groundwater groups with different isotopic fingerprints. One group containing 56?% of the total groundwater samples suggested a well-mixed system and soil infiltration precipitation as the main recharge source to the aquifer. The other two groups included samples with depleted (25.5?%) and enriched (18.5?%) isotopic compositions, respectively. The combination of δ18O, δ2H and electrical conductivities maps suggested ascending regional flows and water transfer from the Quequén Grande River catchment to the Moro creek. The spatial interpretation of these tracers modified the conceptual hydrogeological model of the Quequén Grande River.  相似文献

Abstract

Ti-6Al-4V alloy with different microstructures was investigated by means of ultrasonic attenuation measurements. Widmanstätten and equiaxed microstructures were obtaining by heat treating a Ti-6Al-4V alloy. These two microstructures were over-aged at 545 °C at different ageing times. In order to find out the factors affecting the variation in the ultrasonic attenuation, the heat-treated samples were examined by optical microscopy and scanning electron microscopy. Based on the theory of ultrasonic attenuation in a solid media, the mechanisms of ultrasonic attenuation in the Ti-6Al-4V alloy with different microstructures were analysed. It was found that in both cases with Widmanstätten and equiaxed microstructures, the ultrasonic attenuation increased with frequency. After ageing, the ultrasonic attenuation was mainly attributed to the scattering loss which included the stochastic and the Rayleigh scattering due to the precipitation of Ti3Al particles homogeneously distributed in the α phase. Data analysis presented in the study showed that ultrasonic attenuation yields more accurate area fractions of precipitates predictions when a polynomial fit is performed.  相似文献
