The defect properties of p-type CuInSe2 single crystals hydrogenated by diffusion from a plasma source are investigated using the Rutherford backscattering/channeling technique and photoacoustic spectroscopy. Plasma hydrogenation is found to produce severe lattice damage, to affect the intrinsic defect equilibrium in the near surface region of the crystals and to create an additional donor. A defect formation model including both defect passivation by hydrogen and damage induced defect creation is proposed to explain the experimental data. The thermal stability of the property modifications is limited to temperatures below about 100 °C. 相似文献

The mesocyclic trithioethers, 1,4,7-trithiacyclodecane, 1,4,7-trithiacycloundecane, 1,4,8-trithiacycloundecane, and 1,5,9-trithiacyclododecane; the mesocyclic trithioether ketones, 1,4,7-trithiacyclodecan-9-one; 1,4,8-trithiacycloundecan-6-one, and 1,5,9-trithiacyclododecan-3-one; and the mesocyclic trithioether alcohols, 1,4,7-trithiacyclodecan-9-ol, 1,4,8-trithiacycloundecan-6-ol, and 1,5,9-trithiacyclododecan-3-ol, have been synthesized using the cesium dithiolate technique. In some cases, the corresponding macrocyclic hexathioether was isolated from the reaction mixture in addition to the mesocyclic trithioether; 1,4,7,11,14,17-hexathiacycloeicosane, 1,4,7,11,14,17-hexathiacycloeicosan-9,19-dione, 1,4,7,12,15,18-hexathiacyclodocosane, and 1,5,9,13,17,21-hexathiacyclotetracosane. Single-crystal X-ray structures have been determined for 1,5,9-trithiacyclododecan-3-ol and 1,4,7,12,15,18-hexathiacyclodocosane. For 1,5,9-trithiacyclododecane-3-ol, the compound crystallizes in the monoclinic space group, C2/c, with a = 10.5926( 9 ) Å, b = 15.582(2) Å, c = 13.6015(8) Å, β = 98.186(6)0, Z = 8, and R = 0.038. The macrocycle, 1,4,7,12,15,18-hexathiacyclodocosane, crystallizes in the orthorhombic space group, Pbca, with a = 21.406(5) Å, b = 9.810(2) Å, c = 10.225(2) Å, Z = 4, and R = 0.020. 相似文献

X-ray astronomy and ground-based atomic physics have a long history of fruitful collaboration: Sound understanding of the underlying atomic physics is the key to reliable interpretation of the spectra from celestial sources; conversely, astronomical spectra have been used to benchmark and advance atomic physics. This interplay is about to become even more important as we enter a new era of high-resolution X-ray astrophysics with large effective collection area. Although high-resolution observations with the gratings on the Chandra and XMM-Newton observatories continue to drive new science, upcoming planned and proposed missions will open up new discovery space in the near future that is currently challenging to access: high-resolution spectroscopy on extended sources, in the Fe K band, and on short time scales. This review summarizes open questions in these areas and the design parameters for the Hitomi, XRISM, Athena, and Arcus observatories. The expected high quality of spectra taken with these observatories puts new constraints on the accuracy of atomic reference data required to take full advantage of the diagnostic potential of these spectra. 相似文献

Strontium-based medications, such as strontium ranelate, have been suggested to have therapeutic effects in patients with osteoporosis. Strontium salts available off-shelf in stores across North America are assumed to provide similar effects as strontium ranelate and thus should lead to similar distributions of elemental strontium incorporated in bone. The objective of this study was to compare the spatial distribution of strontium in animal bones following the administration of strontium ranelate and strontium citrate. Seventeen-week-old Sprague–Dawley rats were split into three groups over 10 weeks and given 625 mg/kg/day of strontium ranelate and 676 mg/kg/day of strontium citrate; the control group received no additional supplementary strontium. The humeri were collected from all animals, and strontium distribution was mapped using 2D micro-XRF and 3D dual energy K-edge subtraction (KES) imaging. 2D and 3D elemental mapping methods demonstrated that strontium delivered during treatment by both salts had the same spatial distribution. 3D elemental strontium maps of treated animal bones showed that strontium was largely observed in the trabecular regions under the epiphyseal (growth) plate. The thickness of the strontium layers in both the strontium ranelate and strontium citrate sample was not significantly different (p = .9201). 2D micro-XRF and 3D dual-energy KES images effectively elucidated the spatial distribution of elemental strontium in calcified tissue. These methods provide a novel approach to evaluating the potential efficacy of strontium supplements in the treatment of osteoporosis. 相似文献

The optical absorption of r.f. sputtered CuInSe2 thin films was studied in the photon energy range from 1 to 3 eV. The gap energy and the spin-orbit splitting are found to be (1.01 ± 0.01) eV and (0.24 ± 0.02) eV, respectively. From the photon energy dependence of the absorption coefficient it is concluded that the heavy and light hole bands are parabolic whilst the split-off band contains terms linear in the wavevector. The optical transition probability for valence band- to- conduction band transitions is estimated to be (10.8 ± 1.0) eV which yields an admixture of copper d states to the valence band of (30 ± 8) %. 相似文献

As machine learning algorithms grow in popularity and diversify to many industries, ethical and legal concerns regarding their fairness have become increasingly relevant. We explore the problem of algorithmic fairness, taking an information–theoretic view. The maximal correlation framework is introduced for expressing fairness constraints and is shown to be capable of being used to derive regularizers that enforce independence and separation-based fairness criteria, which admit optimization algorithms for both discrete and continuous variables that are more computationally efficient than existing algorithms. We show that these algorithms provide smooth performance–fairness tradeoff curves and perform competitively with state-of-the-art methods on both discrete datasets (COMPAS, Adult) and continuous datasets (Communities and Crimes). 相似文献

In animals bearing tumors prolongation of spin lattice relaxation time (T1) has been detected in vitro in organs not directly affected by the malignancy. This has been termed the "Systemic Effect." In this study the possible existence of such an effect in the liver, muscle and fat of humans with lymphoma has been investigated. In vivo T1 measurements were made using a low field strength (0.08 Tesla) magnetic resonance imager. The mean liver T1 for 19 lymphoma patients with normal liver histology was 206 ms, compared with a mean of 191 ms for 61 volunteers (p less than 0.0001). Among these patients prolongation of liver T1 was related to the extent of disease elsewhere in the body. For 23 patients with Hodgkin's disease (HD) examined at the time of diagnosis, liver T1 was significantly correlated with other known markers of disease extent or activity (alkaline phosphatase level, erythrocyte sedimentation rate and the presence of systemic symptoms). No such correlations were observed among 25 patients with non-Hodgkin's lymphoma (NHL). Muscle and fat T1 was measured in 26 patients with lymphoma, 14 patients with acute leukemia and 88 volunteers. Seven of the patients with lymphoma and 2 of those with leukemia had muscle T1 values above the range observed for volunteers. Similarly, 3 patients with lymphoma and 1 with leukemia had prolonged fat T1. These findings indicate that a systemic effect of malignancy on T1 is detectable in a proportion of humans with lymphoma or leukemia. 相似文献

The SOLEIL synchrotron radiation source is regularly operated in special filling modes dedicated to pump–probe experiments. Among others, the low‐α mode operation is characterized by shorter pulse duration and represents the natural bridge between 50 ps synchrotron pulses and femtosecond experiments. Here, the capabilities in low‐α mode of the experimental set‐ups developed at the TEMPO beamline to perform pump–probe experiments with soft X‐rays based on photoelectron or photon detection are presented. A 282 kHz repetition‐rate femtosecond laser is synchronized with the synchrotron radiation time structure to induce fast electronic and/or magnetic excitations. Detection is performed using a two‐dimensional space resolution plus time resolution detector based on microchannel plates equipped with a delay line. Results of time‐resolved photoelectron spectroscopy, circular dichroism and magnetic scattering experiments are reported, and their respective advantages and limitations in the framework of high‐time‐resolution pump–probe experiments compared and discussed. 相似文献
