The exploration of inexpensive and efficient catalysts for oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) is crucial for chemical and energy industries. Carbon materials have been proved promising with different catalysts enabling 2 and 4e ORR. Nevertheless, their ORR activity and selectivity is still complex and under debate in many cases. Many structures of these active carbon materials are also chemically unstable for practical implementations. Unlike the well-discussed structures, this work presents a strategy to promote efficient and stable 2e ORR of carbon materials through the synergistic effect of lattice distortion and H-passivation (on the distorted structure). We show how these structures can be formed on carbon cloth, and how the reproducible chemical adsorption can be realized on these structures for efficient and stable H2O2 production. The work here gives not only new understandings on the 2e ORR catalysis, but also the robust catalyst which can be directly used in industry.  相似文献

EBC‐23, 24, 25, 72, 73, 75 and 76 were isolated from the fruit of Cinnamomum laubatii (family Lauraceae) in the Australian tropical rainforests. EBC‐23 ( 1 ) was synthesized stereoselectively, in nine linear steps in 8 % overall yield, to confirm the reported relative stereochemistry and determine the absolute stereochemistry. Key to the total synthesis was a series of Tietze–Smith linchpin reactions. The novel spiroacetal structural motif, exemplified by EBC‐23 ( 1 ), was found to inhibit the growth of the androgen‐independent prostate tumor cell line DU145 in the mouse model, indicating potential for the treatment of refractory solid tumors in adults.  相似文献

This work reports significantly improved spectral resolution of 13C CP MAS NMR spectra of chlorinated, brominated and iodinated solid organic compounds when such spectra are recorded at ultrahigh magnetic field strengths. The cause of this is the residual dipolar coupling between carbon atoms and quadrupolar halogen nuclides (chlorine‐35/37, bromine‐79/81 or iodine‐127), an effect inversely proportional to the magnetic field strength which declines in importance markedly at 21.1 T as compared to lower fields. In favorable cases, the fine structure observed can be used for spectral assignment, e.g. for Cl‐substituted aromatics where the substituted carbon as well as the ortho‐carbons show distinct doublets. The experimental results presented are supported by theoretical modeling and calculations. The improved spectral resolution in the studied systems and similar halogenated materials will be of particular interest and importance for polymorph identification, drug discovery and quality control in the pharmaceutical industry. The mechanism and dynamics of the formation of a hydrogen molecule by incorporating two hydrogen atoms in a stepwise manner into the cavity of some POSS (polyhedral oligomeric silsesquioxanes) compounds has been investigated by ab initio molecular orbital and ab initio molecular dynamics (AIMD) methods. The host molecules in the present reactions are two types of POSS, T(8) ([HSiO(1.5)](8)) and T(12)(D(2d)) ([HSiO(1.5)](12)). AIMD simulations were performed at the CASSCF level of theory, in which two electrons and two orbitals of the colliding hydrogen atoms are included in the active space. The trajectories were started by inserting the second hydrogen atom into the hydrogen atom-encapsulated-POSS (H + H@T(n) → H(2)@T(n); n = 8 and 12). In many cases, the gradual formation of a hydrogen molecule has been observed after frequent collisions of two hydrogen atoms within the cages. The effect of the introduction of an argon atom in T(12) is discussed as well.  相似文献

The application of liquid chromatography/mass spectrometry (LC/MS) followed by principal components analysis (PCA) has been successfully applied to the screening of rat urine following the administration of three candidate pharmaceuticals. With this methodology it was possible to differentiate the control samples from the dosed samples and to identify the components of the mass spectrum responsible for the separation. These data clearly show that LC/MS is a viable alternative, or complementary, technique to proton NMR for metabonomics applications in drug discovery and development.  相似文献

This work presents a detailed, combined experimental and theoretical study on the structural stability of s-p bonded compounds with the BaAl4 structure type (space group I4/mmm, Z = 2) as part of a broad program to investigate the complex questions of structure formation and atomic arrangements in polar intermetallics. From ab initio calculations employing pseudopotentials and a plane wave basis set, we extracted optimized structural parameters, binding energies, and the electronic structure of the systems AeX(III)4, AeX(II)2X(IV)2, AeX(II)2X(III)2 (Ae = Ca, Sr, Ba; X(II) = Mg, Zn; X(III) = Al, Ga; X(IV) = Si, Ge). For all systems we found a pronounced pseudo-gap in the density of states separating network X42- bonding from antibonding electronic states that coincides with the Fermi level for an electron count of 14 electrons per formula unit, the optimum value for stable BaAl4-type polar intermetallics. However, the synthesis and structural characterization (from X-ray single crystal and powder diffraction data) of the new compounds AeZn2-Al2+, AeZn2-deltaGa2+delta (Ae = Ca, Sr, Ba; delta = 0-0.2) and AeMg0.9Al3.1, AeMg1.7Ga2.3 (Ae = Sr, Ba) manifested that electron deficiency is rather frequent for BaAl4-type polar intermetallics. The site preference for different "X" elements in the ternary systems was quantified by calculating "coloring energies", which, for some systems, was strongly dependent on the size of the electropositive Ae component. The Ae2+ cations decisively influence the nearest neighbor distances in the encapsulating polyanionic networks X4(2-) and the structures of these networks are surprisingly flexible to the size of the Ae component without changing the overall bonding picture. A monoclinically distorted variant of the BaAl4 structure occurs when the cations become too small for matching the size of encapsulating X4(2-) cages. An even larger size mismatch leads to the formation of the EuIn4 structure type.  相似文献

Gas-phase acidities (Delta H degrees (acid)) of lactones with ring sizes from four to seven have been measured on a Fourier transform ion cyclotron resonance mass spectrometer. Electron affinities (EAs) of the corresponding lactone enolate radicals were measured on a continuous-wave ion cyclotron resonance mass spectrometer, and the bond dissociation energies (BDEs) of the alpha C-H bonds were derived. In order of increasing ring size, Delta H degrees (acid) = 368.7 +/- 2., 369.4 +/- 2.2, 367.3 +/- 2.2, and 368.3 +/- 2.2 kcal/mol and BDE = 99.4 +/- 2.3, 94.8 +/- 2.3, 89.2 +/- 2.3, and 92.8 +/- 2.4 kcal/mol for beta-propiolactone, gamma-butyrolactone, delta-valerolactone, and epsilon-caprolactone, respectively. For their corresponding enolate radicals, EA = 44.1 +/- 0.3, 38.8 +/- 0.3, 35.3 +/- 0.3, and 37.9 +/- 0.6 kcal/mol. All of these lactones are considerably more acidic than methyl acetate, consistent with a dipole repulsion model. Both BDEs and EAs show a strong dependence on ring size, whereas Delta H degrees (acid) does not. These findings are discussed, taking into account differential electronic effects and differential strain between the reactant and product species in each reaction.  相似文献

The scope of intramolecular Diels-Alder and a novel tandem Diels-Alder/1,3-dipolar cycloaddition cascade of 1,3,4-oxadiazoles is disclosed. In the cases examined, the tandem cycloadditions construct three new rings with formation of four new C-C bonds and set all six stereocenters about a central six-membered ring in a single step including three contiguous and four total quaternary centers without a trace of a second diastereomer.  相似文献
