Metabolites related to caulerpenyne (1), a toxic sesquiterpene featured by two enol-acetate residues, play a major role in the chemical defence of both algae of the genus Caulerpa and a few molluscs of the order Sacoglossa. Here we report the direct evidence that cell-free preparations of Oxynoe olivacea, a Mediterranean sacoglossan, transform efficiently the algal metabolite 1 to oxytoxin-2 (3), the main defensive metabolite of the mollusc. The process implies two distinct hydrolytic activities, here named LIP-1 and LIP-2, able to operate either hydrolysis of the acetyl residue at C-1 or concerted elimination of the acetyl groups at C-4 and C-13. Incubation experiments with tissue homogenates of O. olivacea or with commercially available lipases suggest a two-step mechanism that involves, in vitro, an unstable metabolite characterized as preoxytoxin-2 (4). The course of the entire process can be easily monitored by reverse phase HPLC/ESI-MS, as well as by NMR measurements, which provides direct evidence of the enzymatic mechanism leading to the formation of this last compound (4). In agreement with the literature, both fresh and frozen tissues of Mediterranean Caulerpa prolifera also have the capability to transform 1 into aldehydic derivatives, namely oxytoxin-1 (2) and oxytoxin-2 (3), through hydrolysis of the acetyl groups. However, differently from experiments with mollusc homogenates, the conversion is not complete and caulerpenyne (1) can be detected in the algal suspension for a few hours. HPLC/ESI-MS monitoring of this transformation suggests that the hydrolytic route involves different activities in the mollusc and seaweed. 相似文献

Peptide carbamates containing the sequence H-Pro-Trp-PheNH2 showed in CDCl3 restricted conformations stabilized by the presence of a gamma-turn. To test the reliability of the peptides as endomorphin conformational models, we measured the affinities for mu-receptors labelled with [3H]-DAMGO. The enantiomer of endomorphin-1 (Tyr-Pro-Trp-PheNH2) and the analogues containing (S)- or (R)-beta-proline have been synthesized, and their affinities towards mu-opioid receptors have been measured. As expected, the incubations of the different peptides with some commercially available enzymes showed that the presence of D-residues gave strong resistance towards digestion. Summary We consider a nonlinear system of equations describing the interaction of radiation with matter through a balance of the specific intensity of radiation and the specific internal energy in a convex bounded body.The boundary conditions are not homogeneous. However, suitable additive decompositions of the unknown functions lead to systems with homogeneous boundary conditions and known source terms. We give two such decompositions: one of these, suggested by physical considerations, arises from the study of a nonhomogeneous linear integral equation in a convenient Banach space.
The system is studied by using the theory of semigroups of linear operators and nonlinear perturbations in an L
1
setting. We prove the existence and uniqueness of a positive differentiable solution, which is global in time.

Sommario Si considera un sistema non lineare di equazioni che descrivono l'interazione della radiazione con la materia e rappresentano il bilancio dell'intensità specifica di radiazione e dell'energia specifica internu in un mezzo finito convesso. Le condizioni al contorno sono di tipo generale e non omogenee; l'introduzione di opportune scomposizioni della funzione incognita permette di ricondurci a sistemi con condizioni al contorno omogenee; ciò comporta l'introduzione di termini di sorgente noti. Si presentano due esempi di scomposizione, uno dei quali, suggerito da considerazioni fisiche, scaturisce dallo studio di un'equazione integrale lineare non omogenea in un opportuno spazio di Banach. Si riduce quindi il problema ad un'equazione di evoluzione non lineare in uno spazio di Banach di norma L 1.Si prova l'esistenza di un'unica soluzione forte non negativa, utilizzando la teoria dei semigruppi e delle perturbazioni non lineari; tale soluzione risulta inoltre globale nel tempo.

In this paper, the structural and photochemical properties of a monolithic photochemical diode are discussed. The present structure is composed, from the top to the bottom, of a TiO2 nanowire layer, a TiO2 film, a Ti foil, and a porous layer made of Pt nanoparticles. The synthesis of the nanowires was simply carried out by Au-catalysed-assisted process; the effects of the annealing temperature and time were deeply investigated. Morphological and structural characterizations were performed by scanning electron microscopy and Raman spectroscopy. The analyses showed the rutile structure of the TiO2 nanowires. The photocatalytic properties were studied through the degradation of methylene blue (MB) dye under UV light irradiation. The nanowires induced an enhancement of the photo-degradation rate, compared to TiO2 in a bulk form, due to an increase in the surface area. Moreover, the presence of a nano-porous Pt layer deposited on the rear side of the samples provided a further increase in the MB degradation rate, related to the scavenging effect of Pt nanoparticles. The overall increment of the photo-activity, due to the nano-structuration of the TiO2 and to the presence of the Pt layer, resulted a factor 7, compared to the bulk reference. In addition, photovoltage measurements allowed to assess the effects of TiO2 nano-structuration and Pt nanoparticles on the electron accumulation. 相似文献

The chemical profile of the female inflorescence extracts from seven Cannabis sativa L. dioecious cultivars (Carmagnola, Fibranova, Eletta Campana, Antal, Tiborszallasi, Kompolti, and Tisza) was monitored at three harvesting stages (4, 14, and 30 September), reaching from the beginning of flowering to end of flowering/beginning of seed formation, using untargeted nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) and targeted (ultra-high-performance liquid chromatography (UHPLC) and spectrophotometry) analyses. The tetrahydrocannabinol content was always below the legal limits (<0.6%) in all the analyzed samples. The NMR metabolite profile (sugars, organic acids, amino acids, and minor compounds) subjected to principal components analysis (PCA) showed a strong variability according to the harvesting stages: samples harvested in stage I were characterized by a high content of sucrose and myo-inositol, whereas the ones harvested in stage II showed high levels of succinic acid, alanine, valine, isoleucine, phenylalanine, and threonine. Samples harvested in stage III were characterized by high levels of glucose, fructose, choline, trigonelline, malic acid, formic acid, and some amino acids. The ratio between chlorophylls and carotenoids content indicated that all plants grew up exposed to the sun, the Eletta Campana cultivar having the highest pigment amount. Tiborszallasi cultivar showed the highest polyphenol content. The highest antioxidant activity was generally observed in stage II. All these results suggested that the Cannabis sativa L. inflorescences of each analyzed dioecious hemp cultivar presented a peculiar chemical profile affected by the harvesting stage. This information could be useful for producers and industries to harvest inflorescences in the appropriate stage to obtain samples with a peculiar chemical profile suitable for proper applications. 相似文献

Summary: Nanocomposite materials were obtained by blending multi‐wall carbon nanotubes (CN), obtained by acetylene catalytic chemical vapour deposition (CVD) on Co/Fe‐modified NaY zeolite, with syndiotactic poly(propylene) (sPP). The nanotubes, well dispersed in the polymer matrix, favour the crystallization of the sPP helical chains and significantly improve the sPP thermal stability either in nitrogen or in air. The morphology of the sPP affects the behaviour of the sPP degradation in air.
