The structure of a polystyrene matrix filled with tightly cross-linked polystyrene nanoparticles, forming an athermal nanocomposite system, is investigated by means of a Monte Carlo sampling formalism. The polymer chains are represented as random walks and the system is described through a coarse grained Hamiltonian. This approach is related to self-consistent-field theory but does not invoke a saddle point approximation and is suitable for treating large three-dimensional systems. The local structure of the polymer matrix in the vicinity of the nanoparticles is found to be different in many ways from that of the corresponding bulk, both at the segment and the chain level. The local polymer density profile near to the particle displays a maximum and the bonds develop considerable orientation parallel to the nanoparticle surface. The depletion layer thickness is also analyzed. The chains orient with their longest dimension parallel to the surface of the particles. Their intrinsic shape, as characterized by spans and principal moments of inertia, is found to be a strong function of position relative to the interface. The dispersion of many nanoparticles in the polymeric matrix leads to extension of the chains when their size is similar to the radius of the dispersed particles.  相似文献

New calixarene‐based dendrimers, containing calix[4]arene as the core and different generations of Fréchet‐type poly(benzyl ether) dendrons as building blocks, which possess either Br‐atoms or COOtBu groups at their surface were synthesized and presented herein for the first time. The new calix[4]arene‐cored dendritic macromolecules were fully characterized and found to prefer strictly the cone conformation.  相似文献

The vapor–liquid equilibria of binary polymer–solvent systems was modeled using the Non-Random Hydrogen Bonding (NRHB) model. Mixtures of poly(ethylene glycol), poly(propylene glycol), poly(vinyl alcohol) and poly(vinyl acetate) with various solvents were investigated, while emphasis was put on hydrogen bonding systems, in which functional groups of the polymer chain can self-associate or cross-associate with the solvent molecules. Effort has been made to explicitly account for all hydrogen bonding interactions. The results reveal that the NRHB model offers a flexible approach to account for various self- or cross-associating interactions. In most cases model's predictions (using no binary interaction parameter kij = 0) and model's correlations (using one temperature independent binary interaction parameter, kij ≠ 0) are in satisfactory agreement with the experimental data, despite the complexity of the examined systems.  相似文献

This paper reports the first detailed study focussed upon identifying the influence that microwave heating (MWH) has upon the mechanic steps involved in the tin catalysed ring-opening of lactones such as ?-caprolactone (CL). Direct comparison of conventional (CH) and microwave (MWH) heated kinetic studies showed that a key factor in the reduction of the polymerisation cycle time with MWH was the elimination of the induction period associated with in situ catalyst manufacture and initiation. NMR studies demonstrated that the most significant mechanistic change contributing to the observed induction time reduction/elimination was faster initiation (i.e., reaction of the initiatior/catalyst complex with the first monomer unit). Consequently, analysis of the dielectric properties of the reaction components predicted that this MWH induced change was related to the selective volumetric heating of both the catalyst and the monomer. Furthermore, this indication of the greater significance of the initiation step in defining the length of the induction period suggests that this is the rate determining step of the process, whether conducted by CH or MWH. Increasing the catalyst concentration was demonstrated to produce significant reductions in reaction heat-up time and to induce a significant (up to 30 °C) overshoot in reaction mixture bulk temperature in with MWH only. Thus supporting the conclusion that selective heating of the organometallic species in the system contributes directly to differences in the reaction conditions and which need to be taken into account when drawing comparisons with CH systems. Consequently, both effects were concluded to be thermally generated from selective volumetric heating.  相似文献

Chemically induced dimerization (CID) has proven to be a powerful tool for modulating protein interactions. However, the traditional dimerizer rapamycin has limitations in certain in vivo applications because of its slow reversibility and its affinity for endogenous proteins. Described herein is a bioorthogonal system for rapidly reversible CID. A novel dimerizer with synthetic ligand of FKBP′ (SLF′) linked to trimethoprim (TMP). The SLF′ moiety binds to the F36V mutant of FK506‐binding protein (FKBP) and the TMP moiety binds to E. coli dihydrofolate reductase (eDHFR). SLF′‐TMP‐induced heterodimerization of FKBP(F36V) and eDHFR with a dissociation constant of 0.12 μM . Addition of TMP alone was sufficient to rapidly disrupt this heterodimerization. Two examples are presented to demonstrate that this system is an invaluable tool, which can be widely used to rapidly and reversibly control protein function in vivo.  相似文献

Two new artificial mimics of the photosynthetic antenna‐reaction center complex have been designed and synthesized (BDP‐H2P‐C60 and BDP‐ZnP‐C60). The resulting electron‐donor/acceptor conjugates contain a porphyrin (either in its free‐base form (H2P) or as Zn‐metalated complex (ZnP)), a boron dipyrrin (BDP), and a fulleropyrrolidine possessing, as substituent of the pyrrolidine nitrogen, an ethylene glycol chain terminating in an amino group C60‐X‐NH2 (X=spacer). In both cases, the three different components were connected by s‐triazine through stepwise substitution reactions of cyanuric chloride. In addition to the facile synthesis, the star‐type arrangement of the three photo‐ and redox‐active components around the central s‐triazine unit permits direct interaction between one another, in contrast to reported examples in which the three components are arranged in a linear fashion. The energy‐ and electron‐transfer properties of the resulting electron‐donor/acceptor conjugates were investigated by using UV/Vis absorption and emission spectroscopy, cyclic voltammetry, and femtosecond transient absorption spectroscopy. Comparison of the absorption spectra and cyclic voltammograms of BDP‐H2P‐C60 and BDP‐ZnP‐C60 with those of BDP‐H2P, BDP‐ZnP and BDP‐C60, which were used as references, showed that the spectroscopic and electrochemical properties of the individual constituents are basically retained, although some appreciable shifts in terms of absorption indicate some interactions in the ground state. Fluorescence lifetime measurements and transient absorption experiments helped to elucidate the antenna function of BDP, which upon selective excitation undergoes a rapid and efficient energy transfer from BDP to H2P or ZnP. This is then followed by an electron transfer to C60, yielding the formation of the singlet charge‐separated states, namely BDP‐H2P .+‐ C60 .? and BDP‐ZnP .+‐ C60 . ?. As such, the sequence of energy transfer and electron transfer in the present models mimics the events of natural photosynthesis.  相似文献

The determination of widely used anaesthetic and analgesic drugs in biological fluids is of major clinical importance. Typical methods used for sample preparation employ liquid–liquid extraction protocols which are complex, costly, not handy and not amenable to automation. In the present communication, we report the development of a methodology that employs headspace solid‐phase microextraction (HS‐SPME) for the determination of four anaesthetic (lidocaine, midazolam, diazepam and ketamine) and three analgesic drugs (fentanyl, remifentanyl and codeine) in human urine. Important parameters controlling SPME were studied: selection of SPME fibre, type and amount of salt added, preheating and extraction time, extraction temperature, sample volume and desorption time. GC with nitrogen phosphorus detection (GC‐NPD) facilitates sensitive and selective detection of the anaesthetics. The developed method renders an efficient tool for the precise and sensitive determination of the anaesthetics and analgesics in human urine (RSDs ranged from 7.7 to 12.6%, whereas LODs ranged from 0.01 to 1.5 ng/mL). The method was applied to the determination of the anaesthetics and analgesics in human urine from patients that had undergone coronary by‐pass surgery operations. The proposed protocol can function as an attractive alternative for clinical acute intoxications and medico‐legal cases.  相似文献

A specific and sensitive multi-method based on liquid chromatography–tandem mass spectrometry using atmospheric pressure chemical ionization (LC–APCI–MS/MS) has been developed for the determination of 20 anabolic steroids in muscle tissue (diethylstilbestrol, β-estradiol, ethynylestradiol, α/β-boldenone, α/β-nortestosterone, methyltestosterone, β-trenbolone, triamcinolone acetonide, dexamethasone, flumethasone, α/β-zearalenol, α/β-zearalanol, zearalenone, melengestrol acetate, megestrol acetate and medroxyprogesterone acetate). The procedure involved hydrolysis, extraction with tert-butyl methyl ether, defattening and final clean-up with solid phase extraction (SPE) on Oasis HLB and Amino cartridges. The analytes were analyzed by reversed-phase LC–MS/MS, in positive and negative multiple reaction monitoring (MRM) mode, acquiring two diagnostic product ions from each of the chosen precursor ions for the unambiguous confirmation of the hormones. The method was validated at the validation level of 0.5 ng/g. The accuracy and precision of the method were satisfactory. The decision limits CCα ranged from 0.03 to 0.14 ng/g while the detection capabilities CCβ ranged from 0.05 to 0.24 ng/g. The developed method is sensitive and useful for detection, quantification and confirmation of these anabolic steroids in muscle tissue and can be used for residue control programs.  相似文献

Dimethylsulfoxide (DMSO) is a widely used solvent for the extraction of chlorophylls (Chls) from leaves of higher plants. The method is preferred because the time-consuming steps of grinding and centrifuging are not required and the extracts are stable for a long time period. However, the extraction efficiency of this solvent is not comparable among plant species, whereas the particular leaf anatomical characteristics responsible for this unevenness remain unknown. In order to examine the influence of leaf anatomy on the extraction efficiency of DMSO (i.e. the concentration of Chls extracted with DMSO as % of the concentration of Chls extracted with 80% acetone), leaves of 19 plant species with different anatomical characteristics were incubated for 40min in DMSO at 65 degrees C. Under these conditions, heterobaric leaves, which are characterized by the occurrence of bundle sheath extensions in the mesophyll, showed lower extraction efficiency of DMSO compared to homobaric leaves and conifer needles. Microscopical observations of DMSO incubated leaf tissues showed that bundle sheath extensions behave as anatomical barriers which prevent the diffusion of DMSO within heterobaric leaves, even after prolonged incubation with the solvent. The effect was stronger in heterobaric leaves possessing thick bundle sheath extensions. The extraction efficiency of DMSO in these leaves was improved by vacuum infiltration of the samples in the presence of warm (65 degrees C) solvent.  相似文献
