In a previous paper we considered an extension of the hard hexagon model to a solvable two-dimensional lattice gas with at most two particles per pair of adjacent sites. Here we use various mathematical identities (in particular Gordon's generalization of the Rogers-Ramanujan relations) to express the local densities in terms of elliptic functions. In this paper, an efficient implementation of the spectral domain moment technique is presented for computing the self and mutual coupling between slot antennas on a dielectric half-space. It is demonstrated that by the proper selection of the weighting functions in the method of moments, the analytic evaluation or simplification of the transverse moment integrals is enabled. This results into a significant reduction of the required computational labor. The method is then utilized in order to provide design data for the self and mutual admittances between two slot antennas on a dielectric substrate lens in the case of fused quartz (

=3.80), crystal quartz (

=4.53), silicon (
r
=11.9) and GaAs (
r

ABSTRACTWe study the structure and liquid-crystalline phase behaviour of a model of confined non-convex circular soft-repulsive nanorings in a planar slit geometry using molecular-dynamics simulation. The separation distance between the structureless parallel soft-repulsive walls is made large enough to allow for the formation of a distinct bulk phase in the central region of the box which is in coexistence with the adsorbed fluid thus allowing the analysis of single-wall effects. As the density of the particles is increased, the fluid adsorbs (wets) onto the planar surfaces leading to the formation of well-defined smectic-A layers with a spacing proportional to the diameter of the rings. An analysis of the nematic order parameter at distances perpendicular to the surface reveals that the particles in each layer exhibit anti-nematic behaviour and planar (edge-on) anchoring relative to the short symmetry axis of the rings. This behaviour is in stark contrast to the behaviour observed in convex disc-like particles that have the tendency to form nematic (discotic) structures with homeotropic (face-on) anchoring. The smectic phases formed by nanorings in the bulk and under confinement are characterised by the formation of low-density layered liquid-crystalline states with large voids, referred to here as lacuna smectic phases. In contrast to what is typically found for confined liquid-crystalline systems involving convex particles, no apparent biaxiality is found for nanorings in planar confinement. We argue that formation of the low-density lacuna smectic layers with planar anchoring is a consequence of the non-convex shape of the circular rings that allow for interpenetration between the particles as observed for nanorings under bulk conditions [C. The main aim of the project reported in this paper was twofold. One of the primary goals was to produce an extensive source of network data for bibliometric analyses of field dynamics in the case of Computer and Information Science. To this end, we rendered the raw material of the DBLP computer and infoscience bibliography into a comprehensive collection of dynamic network data, promptly available for further statistical analysis. The other goal was to demonstrate the value of our data source via its use in mapping Computer and Information Science (CIS). An analysis of the evolution of CIS was performed in terms of collaboration (co-authorship) network dynamics. Dynamic network analysis covered three quarters of the XX. century (76 years, from 1936 to date). Network evolution was described both at the macro- and the mezo level (in terms of community characteristics). Results show that the development of CIS followed what appears to be a universal pattern of growing into a “mature” discipline. 相似文献

The violin bridge filter role was investigated using modal and acoustic measurements on 12 quality-rated violins combined with systematic bridge rocking frequency f(rock) and wing mass decrements deltam on four bridges for two other violins. No isolated bridge resonances were observed; bridge motions were complex (including a "squat" mode near 0.8 kHz) except for low frequency rigid body pivot motions, all more or less resembling rocking motion at higher frequencies. A conspicuous broad peak near 2.3 kHz in bridge driving point mobility (labeled BH) was seen for good and bad violins. Similar structure was seen in averaged bridge, bridge feet, corpus mobilities and averaged radiativity. No correlation between violin quality and BH driving point, averaged corpus mobility magnitude, or radiativity was found. Increasing averaged-over-f(rock) deltam(g) from 0 to 0.12 generally increased radiativity across the spectrum. Decreasing averaged-over-deltam f(rock) from 3.6 to 2.6 kHz produced consistent decreases in radiativity between 3 and 4.2 kHz, but only few-percent decreases in BH frequency. The lowest f(rock) values were accompanied by significantly reduced radiation from the Helmholtz A0 mode near 280 Hz; this, combined with reduced high frequency output, created overall radiativity profiles quite similar to "bad" violins among the quality-rated violins. 相似文献

The resonant cavity perturbation method as described in the preceding two parts of this series is applied to study the electrodynamical properties of different materials in the microwave and millimeter wave spectral range. We briefly discuss the relevant uncertainties which are asociated with the different measurement techniques and we find that employing the amplitude technique it is possible to measure both the width and frequency to nearly the same precision. We then demonstrate the broad range of applicability of this technique by showing results obtained on several different materials, ranging from an insulator to a superconductor. Lateral diffusion measurements, most commonly accomplished through Fluorescence Photobleaching Recovery (FPR or FRAP), provide
important information on cell membrane molecules' size, environment and participation in intermolecular interactions. However,
serious difficulties arise when these techniques are applied to weakly expressed proteins of either of two types: fusions
of membrane receptors with visible fluorescent proteins or membrane molecules on autofluorescent cells. To achieve adequate
sensitivity in these cases, techniques such as interference fringe FPR are needed. However, in such measurements, cytoplasmic
species contribute to the fluorescence recovery signal and thus yield diffusion parameters not properly representing the small
number of surface molecules. A new method helps eliminate these difficulties. High Probe Intensity (HPI)-FPR measurements
retain the intrinsic confocality of spot measurements to eliminate interference from fluorescent cytoplasmic species. However,
HPI-FPR methods lift the previous requirement that FPR procedures be performed at probe beam intensities low enough to not
induce bleaching in samples during measurements. The high probe intensities now employed provide much larger fluorescence
signals and thus more information on molecular diffusion from each measurement. We report successful measurement of membrane
