The metamorphosis in the emission angular profile from an inverted two-level atoms system

A rich variety of angular distributions in the cooperative emission from a sphere of inverted N two-level atoms are shown to result from the eigenstructure of the complex kernel of scalar photon theory exp(ik₀R)/(ik₀R). This angular distribution is sensitive both to the size of the sphere and to the instant of observation of the emission.     

Some functional inequalities,with application to Green's function

Some elementary inequalities for functional with functional derivatives of given sign are presented and proved. These are then applied to the study of Green's functions for diffusion processes in a medium with sources and sinks (or alternately to Green's functions for the Schrödinger operator). The resulting inequalities are shown to include as quite special cases the super and sub-additive inequalities of potential theory. One consequence of the generalization is that scattering length is also shown to have sub-additive properties.This research was supported in part by the National Science Foundation and the U.S. Atomic Energy Commission.     

Model with strong γ4 T-violation

We extend the T violating model of the paper on ``Hidden symmetry of the CKM and neutrino-mapping matrices" by assuming its T-violating phases χ_↑ and χ_↓ to be large and the same, with χ=χ_↑=χ_↓. In this case, the model has 9     

A Note on Base Change,Identities Involving τ(n), and a Congruence of Ramanujan

We use the theory of quadratic base change to derive some new identities involving the Ramanujan -function, and show how the Ramanujan congruence (n) ₁₁(n) (mod 691) follows.     

On the QED approach to frequency shifts

We comment on and correct recent works which 1) discuss the effect of the rotating wave app of radiative frequency shifts and 2) calculate level and frequency shifts by dispersion relations.
