In a 48 000-picture exposure of the Fermilab 30-inch hydrogen bubble chamber to a 205 GeV/cπ?beam, we have measured 169 events of the reaction, π?pπ?π+π?p, with a cross section of 635 ± 61 μb. This reaction proceeds almost entirely via low mass π? → 3π and p → pππ dissociation. Factorization is satisfied for p → pππ dissociation in πp and pp interactions.  相似文献

The decay dynamics of a slab of two-level atoms excited by an ultrashort resonant pulse are analyzed by means of the eigenmodes determined by the interaction of the resonance with the slab geometry. The node structure in the spatio-temporal excited atom distribution and the forward-backward asymmetry are identified with the decays of individual modes and with interference between adjacent modes.  相似文献

The superradiance from a slab of inverted two-level atoms is theoretically analyzed in the linear regime from both the perspective of the expansion in eigenfunctions of the integral equation with the Lienard-Wiechert potential as kernel, and that of linearizing the Maxwell-Bloch equations. We show the equivalence of both approaches. We show that the so-called Reduced Maxwell-Bloch equations do not yield even approximately the correct solution when applied in the obvious way, but that they can be made to give the correct solution by adding a fictitious input field.  相似文献

We find the eigenmodes of the Lienard-Wiechert kernel for a spherical geometry. We show that these consist of two series corresponding to the classical electrodynamics multipole electric and magnetic series. This paper is concerned with representations of split orthogonal and quasi-split unitary groups over a nonarchimedean local field which are not generic, but which support a unique model of a different kind, the generalized Bessel model. The properties of the Bessel models under induction are studied, and an analogue of Rodier's theorem concerning the induction of Whittaker models is proved for Bessel models which are minimal in a suitable sense. The holomorphicity in the induction parameter of the Bessel functional is established. Local coefficients are defined for each irreducible supercuspidal representation which carries a Bessel functional and also for a certain component of each representation parabolically induced from such a supercuspidal. The local coefficients are related to the Plancherel measures, and their zeroes are shown to be among the poles of the standard intertwining operators.  相似文献

The convergent iterative procedure for solving the groundstate Schr?dinger equation is extended to derive the excitation energy and the wavefunction of the low-lying excited states. The method is applied to the one-dimensional quartic potential problem. The results show that the iterative solution converges rapidly when the coupling g is not too small.  相似文献
