The photolysis of SO2 in the presence of cis- and trans-2-pentene has been investigated at 3660 Å and 22°C. Quantum yield measurements of the SO2 photosensitized conversion of one isomer into the other are consistent with a mechanism in which the only participating excited electronic state of SO2 is the SO2(3B1) state. Quantum yield measurements were made for a variation in PSO2/Pisomer reactant ratios of 4.01–283 and 57.5–351 for the cis and trans isomers, respectively. The data are consistent with a mechanism in which a (SO2-olefin)3 collision intermediate is the precursor to the photosensitized isomeric products. The intermediate undergoes unimolecular decay to yield the cis and trans isomers with probabilities of 0.26 ± 0.05 and 0.69 ± 0.04, respectively. Estimates of the quenching rate constants at 22°C for removal of SO2(3B1) molecules by cis- and trans-2-pentene are (0.633 ± 0.125) × 1011 l./mole/sec and (1.00 ± 0.27) × 1011 l./mole/sec, respectively. An experimentally determined photostationary composition, [trans-2-pentene]/[cis-2-pentene] = 2.3 ± 0.1 was in fair agreement with that of 1.7 ± 0.7 as predicted from kinetic data derived in this study.  相似文献

π+ and π? elastic and inelastic scattering from 18O have been measured at T(π)=164 MeV. Consistent with the results at 230 MeV, it is found that the ratio σ(π?)σ(π+) for the 21+ state is 1.86(16), while for the 31? state it is 0.89(6). These results are interpreted as indicating differences in neutron and proton deformations characterizing the 21+ transition and partial neutron blocking for the 31? transition. Optical model analysis of elastic scattering leads to the conclusion that 〈rn212?〈rp212=0.03(3) fm.  相似文献

As a consequence of the general theory we are able to construct all nonarchimedean valuations on algebraic number fields and compute their ramification indices and residue class degrees. During the past several years the combination of modulation spectroscopy and static uniaxial stress has been developed into a powerful tool for the investigation of the relationship between the optical properties of semiconductors and their electronic energy bands. Studies of the stress-induced splittings and shifts of energy levels and oscillator strengths as well as the dependence of the induced fine structure on polarization direction and strain configuration have produced a wealth of information concerning the intrinsic properties of the undeformed crystal such as symmetries of interband optical transitions, deformation potentials, spin-exchange interaction of excitons, etc. Symmetry assignments are of considerable value for comparison with band structure calculations while the latter parameters are of significance for comparison with theories based on model calculations and systematic trends such as ionicity. This paper will review experiments and theories dealing with the effects of static uniaxial stress on those optical properties of semiconductors related to the intrinsic properties of the material with special emphasis on the modulated optical spectra.  相似文献
