We perform molecular dynamics simulations on a bead-spring model of pure polymer grafted nanoparticles (PGNs) and of a blend of PGNs with a polymer melt to investigate the correlation between PGN design parameters (such as particle core concentration, polymer grafting density, and polymer length) and properties, such as microstructure, particle mobility, and viscous response. Constant strain-rate simulations were carried out to calculate viscosities and a constant-stress ensemble was used to calculate yield stresses. The PGN systems are found to have less structural order, lower viscosity, and faster diffusivity with increasing length of the grafted chains for a given core concentration or grafting density. Decreasing grafting density causes depletion effects associated with the chains leading to close contacts between some particle cores. All systems were found to shear thin, with the pure PGN systems shear thinning more than the blend; also, the pure systems exhibited a clear yielding behavior that was absent in the blend. Regarding the mechanism of shear thinning at the high shear rates examined, it was found that the shear-induced decrease of Brownian stresses and increase in chain alignment, both correlate with the reduction of viscosity in the system with the latter being more dominant. A coupling between Brownian stresses and chain alignment was also observed wherein the non-equilibrium particle distribution itself promotes chain alignment in the direction of shear. 相似文献

Single- and two-step fluorescence resonance energy transfer (FRET) was investigated between laser dyes rhodamine 123 (R123), rhodamine 610 (R610), and oxazine 4 (Ox4). The dye molecules played the role of molecular antennas and energy donors (ED, R123), energy acceptors (EA, Ox4), or both (R610). The dye cations were embedded in the films based on layered silicate laponite (Lap) with the thickness of several μm. Optically homogeneous films were prepared directly from dye/Lap colloids. Dye concentration in the films was high enough for FRET to occur but sufficiently low to prevent the formation of large amounts of molecular aggregates. The films were characterized by absorption and fluorescence spectroscopies, and their optical properties were compared with colloid precursors and dye aqueous solutions. The phenomenon of FRET was confirmed by means of steady-state and time-resolved fluorescence spectroscopies. Significant quenching of ED emission in favor of the luminescence from EA molecules was observed. FRET led to the decrease in the lifetimes of excited states of ED molecules. Molecular orientation of dye molecules was determined by polarized absorption and fluorescence spectroscopies. Almost parallel orientation with respect to silicate surface (~30°) was determined for all fluorescent species of the dyes. Theoretical model on relationship between anisotropy and molecular orientation of the fluorophores fits well with measured data. The analysis of anisotropy measurements confirmed the significant role of FRET in the phenomenon of light depolarization. 相似文献

A simple HPLC method for determination of mefloquine hydrochloride in tablets was developed and validated. The separation was carried out on an Xterra RP18 (250 x 4.6 mm id, 5 pm particle size) analytical column. The mobile phase was 0.05 M monobasic potassium phosphate buffer (pH 3.5)-methanol (40 + 60, v/v). The flow rate and wavelength were set to 1 mL/min and 283 nm, respectively. The method was specific for mefloquine hydrochloride in the presence of hydrolytic, oxidative, and photolytic degradation products. It was also linear, precise, accurate, and robust, being suitable for routine QC analyses and stability studies. A simple method is described for the determination of Cd, Cu, Mn, Ni, Pb and Zn in nails by using inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICP-MS) or electrothermal atomic absorption spectrometry (ETAAS). Prior to analysis, 10-20 mg of nail samples were accurately weighed into (15 mL) conical tubes. Then, 1 mL of 25% (w/v) tetramethylammonium hydroxide (TMAH) solution was added to the samples, incubated at room temperature overnight and then further diluted to 10 mL with 1% (v/v) HNO(3). After that, samples were directly analyzed. Rhodium was used as internal standard for ICP-MS analysis. Method detection limits (3 s, n=20) were 0.1, 3.0, 1.0, 4.5, 1.5, 5.0 ng g(-1) for Cd, Cu, Mn, Ni, Pb and Zn, respectively for ICP-MS, and 24, 26, 30, 143, 130 and 1000 ng g(-1), respectively for ETAAS. The key issue addressed here is the elimination of the acid digestion prior to analysis. Moreover, with the use of the proposed method there is a considerable improvement in the sample throughput comparing to the traditional methods using microwave-assisted acid sample digestion prior to analysis. For validation purposes, six ordinary nail samples were solubilized and then directly analyzed by ICP-MS and ETAAS, with no statistical difference between the two techniques at 95% level on applying the t-test. 相似文献

The syntheses, structures, and magnetic properties of the compounds of formula [Fe (III)(sal 2trien)] 2[Mn (II) 2(ox) 3].4H 2O.C 3H 7NO ( 1) and [In (III)(sal 2trien)] 2[Mn (II) 2(ox) 3].3H 2O.CH 3OH (2) are reported. The structure presents a homometallic 2D honeycomb anionic layer formed by Mn (II) ions linked through oxalate ligands and a cationic double layer of [Fe(sal 2trien)] (+) or [In(sal 2trien)] (+) complexes intercalated between the 2D oxalate network. The magnetic properties and M?ssbauer spectroscopy of 1 indicate the coexistence of a magnetic ordering of the Mn(II) oxalate network that behaves as a weak ferromagnet and a gradual spin crossover of the intercalated [Fe(sal 2trien)] (+) complexes. 相似文献

The equilibria and kinetics for the process of In(3+) exchange between nitrilotriacetic acid (NTA) and bovine serum transferrin (T) have been investigated in aqueous solution containing sodium bicarbonate. The metal exchange equilibria have been measured by difference ultraviolet spectroscopy at 25 degrees C, pH=7.4, and I=0.2 M (NaClO4). The acid dissociation constants of NTA and the binding constants of In(III) to NTA have also been measured. Kinetic experiments revealed that the process of In(3+) uptake by transferrin from [In(NTA)2](3-) is biphasic, the fast phase being completed in a few seconds, the slow phase lasting for hours. The fast phase has been investigated by the stopped-flow method and results in monoexponential kinetics. It involves rapid interaction of the 1:1 complex ML (M=In, L=NTA) with TB (T=transferrin, B=CO3(2-)) to give a quaternary intermediate MLTB which then evolves to an "open" MTB* ternary complex complex with expulsion of L. In turn, this complex interconverts to a "closed", more stable, form MTB. Neither the prevailing complex M2L nor the TB2 form of transferrin are directly involved in the exchange process but act as metal and protein reservoirs. The pH dependence of the reaction has been also investigated. The slow phase has not been investigated in detail; it takes several hours to go to the completeness, its slowness being ascribed to metal redistribution between the C-site and N-site of the protein, and/or metal release from polynuclear In(III) species. 相似文献

A time-of-flight mass spectrometer with a position sensitive ion detector was used to study the dissociative double ionization of benzene by UV synchrotron radiation. The threshold energy for the main dissociative processes, leading to CH(3)(+) + C(5)H(3)(+), C(2)H(3)(+) + C(4)H(3)(+) and C(2)H(2)(+) + C(4)H(4)(+) ion pairs were characterized by exploiting a photoelectron-photoion-photoion-coincidence technique, giving 27.8 ± 0.1, 29.5 ± 0.1, and 30.2 ± 0.1 eV, respectively. The first reaction also proceeds via the formation of a metastable C(6)H(6)(2+) dication. The translational kinetic energy of the ionic products was evaluated by measuring the position of ions arriving to the detector. Theoretical calculations of the energy and structure of dissociation product ions were performed to provide further information on the dynamics of the charge separation reactions following the photoionization event. 相似文献

New trans‐2‐hydroxychalcones bearing a carboxylate group at position 2′ ( Ct ?) were synthesized (compounds 2 and 3 ). These compounds lead to a network of chemical reactions depending on pH value, light, and solvent. In water, when the pH value is lowered, the ionized trans‐chalcone is protonated and the flavylium cation A H+ is formed at very acidic pH values through hemiketal B and cis‐chalcone Cc , with global acidity constants of pK′a ≤?1 and ≈0.1, respectively, for 2 and 3 . The electron‐acceptor character of the carboxylic substituent not only increases the observed acidity of the flavylium cation, but also decreases the rate of the ring‐opening/‐closing from a subsecond timescale to hours relative to model compound 1 (without carboxylate). The photochemistry of the network was studied in detail by means of continuous irradiation, monitored by UV/Vis absorption and 1H and 13C NMR spectroscopic analysis. Although compound 3 is only slightly photoactive, compound 2 ( Ct? ) reacts in aqueous solutions (λirr=313 nm) to form B? and Cc? , with a global quantum yield of 0.15, and fully reverts back to Ct? with a rate constant of k=6.7×10?5 s?1. The flavylium cation is no longer formed in methanol, and irradiation of Ct? leads to the formation of B ? and the new lactone‐trapped chromene species La . The formation of La takes place through a sequence of three photochemical steps: photoisomerization of Ct ?, photo‐ring‐closing reaction of Cc ?, and photolactonization of B ?. Only the cis/trans isomerization and ring‐closing reactions are thermally reversible on a timescale of seconds and hours, respectively. A photochromic system was achieved in rigid matrices of methanol (at 77 K) and 1‐dodecanol (5 °C) by irradiating lactone La to give a red ortho‐quinone allide through a photo‐ring‐opening reaction; the color disappears with a rate constant of k=1.25×10?2 s?1 in 1‐dodecanol at 5 °C. 相似文献
