Series solution to the laser-ion interaction in a Raman-type configuration

The Raman interaction of a ultracold ion trapped with two travelling wave lasers is studied analytically with series solutions, in the absence of the rotating wave approximation (RWA) and without restrictions of both the Lamb-Dicke limit and the weak excitation regime. The comparison is made between our solutions and those obtained under the RWA in order to demonstrate the validity region of the RWA. As a practical example, the preparation of Schr?dinger-cat states is proposed beyond the weak excitation regime, using our calculations. A multifractal decomposition according to rate of returns

For one‐dimensional simple symmetric random walk, the Hausdorff and packing dimensions of sets of sample paths with prescribed rate of returns to the origin are determined. Hybrid organosilazane/organosilylamine telechelic oligomers—I. Two-dimensional NMR spectroscopy characterization of dimethylsilylethylenediamine oligomers

The detailed characterization of multifunctional hybrid organosilazane/organosilylamine telechelic oligomers by IR and ¹H, ¹³C and ²⁹Si NMR spectroscopy in one and two dimenions has been undertaken. The specific multifunctional oligomers, comprising NH/NH₂ or SiCl functionalities depending on the monomer feed-ratio, were prepared from mono- and di-functionally reacted dichlorodimethylsilane (DDS) and mono-, di-, tri- and tetra-functionally reacted ethylenediamine (EDA). Varying the feed-ratio afforded control of the microstructures of the oligomers and the preparation of oligomers with, in some cases, conterminously located silicon–chlorine (SiCl) groups. The combination of the NMR methods with the IR technique has enabled the detailed microstructural characterization of the oligomers and the identification of the functionalities therein. This approach and the knowledge gained from the DDS/EDA system has been applied to the microstructural characterization of other hybrid organosilazane/silylamine preceramic telechelic oligomers.     

Interfacial effects on stress distribution in model composites

Raman mechanical spectroscopy was used to examine interfacial effects on the stress distribution in model polydiacetylene fiber/epoxy composites. Epoxy release agents were coated on fiber surfaces to modify the interfacial adhesion properties. The modified fiber surfaces were then characterized by scanning electron microscopy and x-ray photoelectron spectroscopy as well as optical microscopy. No difference in the maximum stress value or stress distribution was observed for the two types of fibers, coated or uncoated, used in composites. This suggests that adhesion properties at the composite interface do not affect tensile stress transfer efficiency nor, therefore, the composite tensile modulus along the fiber axis direction in uniaxial composites. Experimental data were also compared with theoretical calculations assuming perfect bonding between fiber and matrix, and idealized frictional force transfer mechanism at the fiber–matrix interface.     

InAs/GaAs自组织量子点的DLTS谱

 本文用点炮加载聚酯薄膜飞片撞击金属靶材料，飞片速度0.714~2.24 km/s，脉冲宽度40~80 ns，击靶压力为2.280~11.952 GPa。在回收的铝、铜和钢靶样品上观察到层裂现象。通过金相分析发现它们的破坏方式与在一般较长脉冲加载下的破坏方式相似，铝和铜以延性方式破坏；钢则以脆性方式破坏。一维和二维数值模拟结果表明通常的几种层裂判据在这个应力、应变和应变率范围内也基本上适用。
