Some generalizations of torsion-free Crawley groups

In this paper we investigate two new classes of torsion-free Abelian groups which arise in a natural way from the notion of a torsion-free Crawley group. A group G is said to be an Erd?s group if for any pair of isomorphic pure subgroups H,K with G/H ? G/K, there is an automorphism of G mapping H onto K; it is said to be a weak Crawley group if for any pair H,K of isomorphic dense maximal pure subgroups, there is an automorphism mapping H onto K. We show that these classes are extensive and pay attention to the relationship of the Baer-Specker group to these classes. In particular, we show that the class of Crawley groups is strictly contained in the class of weak Crawley groups and that the class of Erd?s groups is strictly contained in the class of weak Crawley groups.     

Fuzzy quasi C*-algebra

At the present paper, the new concepts of fuzzy quasi norm, fuzzy Banach space, fuzzy quasi continuity and fuzzy quasi boundedness is introduced. Furthermore, we define the fuzzy quasi operator norm and also it is shown that the set all of fuzzy quasi bounded operator from X to Y is fuzzy quasi Banach space. Finally, we have introduced and investigated some notions and some results on *-algebra theory.     

A new scheme for solving nonlinear Stratonovich Volterra integral equations via Bernoulli’s approximation

In this paper, an efficient method for solving nonlinear Stratonovich Volterra integral equations is proposed. By using Bernoulli polynomials and their stochastic operational matrix of integration, these equations can be reduced to the system of nonlinear algebraic equations with unknown Bernoulli coefficient which can be solved by numerical methods such as Newton’s method. Also, an error analysis is valid under fairly restrictive conditions. Furthermore, in order to show the accuracy and reliability of the proposed method, the new approach is compared with the block pulse functions method by some examples. The obtained results reveal that the proposed method is more accurate and efficient than the block pulse functions method.     

The effect of real viscosity on the heat transfer of water based Al2O3 nanofluids in a two-sided lid-driven differentially heated rectangular cavity

The heat transfer and fluid flow behavior of water based Al₂O₃ nanofluids are numerically investigated inside a two-sided lid-driven differentially heated rectangular cavity. Physical properties which have major effects on the heat transfer of nanofluids such as viscosity and thermal conductivity are experimentally investigated and correlated and subsequently used as input data in the numerical simulation. Transport equations are numerically solved with finite volume approach using SIMPLEC algorithm. It was found that not only the thermal conductivity but also the viscosity of nanofluids has a key role in the heat transfer of nanofluids. The results show that at low Reynolds number, increasing the volume fraction of nanoparticles increases the viscosity and has a deteriorating effect on the heat transfer of nanofluids. At high Reynolds number, the increase in the viscosity is compensated by force convection and the increase in the volume fraction of nanoparticles which results in an increase in heat transfer is in coincidence with experimental results.     

Powers of the Vertex Cover Ideal of a Chordal Graph

In this article, Cohen–Macaulay chordal graphs and generalized star graphs are studied to show that all powers of the vertex cover ideal of such graphs have linear quotients. Moreover, it is shown that the Alexander dual of the clique complex of any chordal graph is vertex decomposable.     

Involutions on certain Banach algebras related to locally compact groups

Let \(\mathcal{{A}}\) be a Banach algebra and let \(\mathcal{{X}}\) be an introverted closed subspace of \(\mathcal{{A}}^*\) . Here, we give necessary and sufficient conditions for that the dual algebra \(\mathcal{{X}}^*\) of \(\mathcal{{X}}\) or the topological centers \({\mathfrak {Z}}_t^{(1)}(\mathcal{{X}}^{*})\) and \({\mathfrak {Z}}_t^{(2)}(\mathcal{{X}}^{*})\) of \(\mathcal{{X}}^*\) are Banach \(*\) -algebras. We finally apply these results to the Banach space \(L_0^\infty (G)\) of all equivalence classes of essentially bounded functions vanishing at infinity on a locally compact group \(G\) .
