Semiclassical Topological Flat Laguerre Planes Obtained by Pasting Along A Circle

A new rather large family of locally compact 2-dimensional topological Laguerre planes is introduced here. This family consists exactly of those Laguerre planes which can be obtained by pasting together two halves of the classical real Laguerre plane along a circle suitably. Isomorphism classes and automorphism groups of these planes are determined. Together with [9] this gives a complete classification of all semicalssical topological flat Lguerre planes.     

Splitting the Cartesian point

It is argued that the point structure of space and time must be constructed from the primitive extensional character of space and time. A procedure for doing this is laid down and applied to one-dimensional and two-dimensional systems of abstract extensions. Topological and metrical properties of the constructed point systems, which differ nontrivially from the usual and ² models, are examined. Briefly, constructed points are associated with directions and the Cartesian point is split. In one-dimension each point splits into a point pair compatible with the linear ordering. An application to one-dimensional particle motion is given, with the result that natural topological assumptions force the number of left point, right point transitions to remain locally finite in a continuous motion. In general, Cartesian points are seen to correspond to certain filters on a suitable Boolean algebra. Constructed points correspond to ultrafilters. Thus, point construction gives a natural refinement of the Cartesian systems.     

Effect of the atomic number of the support on space-charge buildup in electron-irradiated dielectric films

A study is made of the effect of the atomic number z_s of the support on the charging of thin dielectric films irradiated with 50-keV electrons at beam densities of 10^–5–10^–4 A·m². It is shown that at larger z_s the ratio between the charge-injection and pair-production rate increases, producing a higher space-charge buildup efficiency. The maximum charge increases with the current density, while is not affected. Spin-spin coupling of77Se and31P nuclei in cyclic organophosphorous compounds

The title substances, derivatives of two new heterocyclic ring systems, were synthesized by intramolecular cyclisations of diazonium compounds, prepared from derivatives of 2-amino-thiophene-3-carboxamide and of 2-amino-benzo[b]thiophene-3-carboxamide. Spin Density Distribution in 2,4,6-Triphenylphenoxyl

The distribution of the unpaired electron over the oxygen and the 24 carbon atoms in the free 2,4,6-triphenylphenoxy radical was determined by electron spin resonance spectroscopy and quantum-mechanical approximation methods. The hyperfine splitting was evaluated with the aid of the spectra of triphenylphenoxyls deuterated in some or all of the substituent phenyl groups. The results of the quantum-mechanical approximations were checked by recording the ESR spectra of triphenylphenoxyls labeled with ¹³C in positions 1,2,3, or 4 of the central ring. The spin density distribution permits a first discussion of the ¹⁷O-coupling constants of correspondingly labeled triphenylphenoxyl and other organic free radicals.
