Synthesis and Characterization of Aminophosphines,Bis(amino)phosphine Derivatives,and Their Molybdenum(0) Complexes

Functionalized bis(amino)phosphines of the type PhP(NHR)₂ ( 1a–c ) and aminophosphines of the type Ph₂PNHR ( 2a–c ) have been synthesized by treating PhPCl₂ or Ph₂PCl with corresponding primary amines of H₂N-R where R = -CH₂SO₃H, -C₆H₄SO₃H, and benzo-15-crown-5. The molybdenum(0) complex of the aminophosphine ( 3 ) has been obtained by reacting cis-[Mo(CO)₄(bipy)] with aminophosphine ( 2c ). The synthesized aminophosphines, bis(amino)phosphines, and the molybdenum(0) complex have been characterized by IR, ¹H NMR, ³¹P NMR, and MS spectroscopic techniques and by elemental analysis.     

Alternative Synthesis of A C,C-Diacetylenic Phosphaalkene

Abstract

Bis(trimethylsilyl)-terminated C,C-diacetylenic phosphaalkene was prepared from Mes*PCl₂ and a propargylic Grignard reagent that in turn was formed from 3-bromo-1,5-bis(trimethylsilyl)penta-1,4-diyne and Rieke-Mg.     

PEPPSI-Pd-NHC catalyzed Suzuki-Miyaura cross-coupling reactions in aqueous media

A series of unsymmetrical 1,3-disubstituted benzimidazolium chlorides were synthesized as N-heterocyclic carbene (NHC) precursors. These compounds were used to synthesize of the PEPPSI-type palladium NHC complexes. The structures of all compounds were characterized by ¹H NMR, ¹³C NMR, FT-IR spectroscopy and elemental analyses. The catalytic activity of the PEPPSI-type palladium–NHC complexes has been evaluated with respect to the Suzuki-Miyaura cross-coupling reactions of phenyl boronic acid with various aryl halides in aqueous media.

Synthesis of N,N‐Dimethylamines via Barbier–Grignard‐Type Electrophilic Amination

Aryl Grignard reagents react with N,N‐dimethyl O‐(mesitylenesulfonyl)hydroxylamine in THF under Barbier conditions at room temperature and give N,N‐dimethylanilines with high yields in a 2‐h reaction. The amination yield of in situ Grignard reagents were not lower than those of preformed aryl Grignard reagents. In situ cycloalkyl‐, allyl‐, and benzylmagnesium bromides did not react with N,N‐dimethyl O‐(mesitylenesulfonyl)hydroxylamine, except that amination of in situ n‐hexylmagnesium bromide resulted in a medium yield. Grignard–Barbier‐type amination of aryl bromides with N,N‐dimethyl O‐(mesitylenesulfonyl)hydroxylamine provides a new alternative route for the synthesis of N,N‐dimethylanilines.     

Synthesis of Dopamine,Rotigotin, Ladostigil,Rasagiline Analogues 2-Amino-4,5,6-trimethoxyindane, 1-Amino-5,6,7-trimethoxyindane,and Their Sulfamide Derivatives

Dopamine, rotigotin, ladostigil, and rasagiline analogues 2-amino-4,5,6-trimethoxyindane and 1-amino-5,6,7-trimethoxyindane were synthesized starting from 5,6,7-trimethoxyindan-1-one for the first time with 34% and 45% total yields. α-Carboxylation of indanone, reduction of ketone group with Et₃SiH, basic hydrolysis of ester, Curtius reaction of the acid, and addition of BnOH afforded the corresponding carbamate. Pd-C-catalyzed hydrogenolysis of carbamate and deprotonation of amine hydrochloride with NaOH gave the dopamine and rotigotin analogue 2-aminoindane. Reduction of 5,6,7-trimethoxyindan-1-one with NaBH₄ afforded the alcohol, which was then converted to the azide derivative via Mitsunobu reaction with diphenylphosphoryl azide; Pd-C catalyzed hydrogenation of the azide to the amine hydrochloride and then deprotonation of the amine hydrochloride with NaOH furnished the ladostigil and rasagiline analogue 1-aminoindane. These amines and BnOH were reacted with CSI to produce sulfamoyl carbamates, which were converted to sulfamides via Pd-C-catalyzed hydrogenolysis reaction with 20% and 25% total yields.     

A Multicolumn Ion Chromatographic Determination of Nitrate and Sulfate in Waters Containing Humic Substances

Abstract

A three-column ion chromatographic system for the removal of humic substances from natural waters, and subsequent on-line concentration and determination of nitrate and sulfate using non-suppressed ion chromatography is presented. Humic substances are removed using disposable adsorption columns packed with chemically bonded amine silica material. The sample is directly transfered to an ion exchange column where the anions are concentrated ca 10 times. After reversing the flow, the ions are transferred to a third column where they are separated and quantified. The detection limit is less than 1 mg L^?1 of nitrate or sulfate in water containing 45mgL^?1 of humic acid.     

Beckmann Fragmentation of Diphenylcarbamoylated N-Aryldiphenacylamine Dioximes. New Method for the Synthesis of Imidazooxadiazolones

N-Aryl-N,N-diphenacylamine dioximes were prepared by the reaction of corresponding arylamines with α-bromoacetophenone oxime in ethanol-water at room temperature. These compounds reacted with aryl isocyanates in acetonitrile to give imidazooxadiazolones 9. The probable mechanism of the reaction is discussed.
