The first general single-step route to dendritic or cascade polyaryl ethers analogous to common linear polyaryl ethers is described. The sodium salts of four AB2 monomers each containing a single phenolic hydroxyl group and two aryl fluorides activated toward nucleophilic substitution by carbonyl, sulphonyl, or tetrafluorophenyl moieties are shown to polymerize in hot N, N-dimethylacetamide. The products are high molecular weight polymers (7000 < Mn < 36000), have narrow polydispersities (1.50 < Mw/Mn < 4.50), and are highly soluble in organic solvents. The molecular weights of two of the polymers increase with monomer concentration. The polymers are thermally stable (500 °C under N2) and have glass transition temperatures ranging from 135 to 231 °C. 相似文献

The aim of this work was to evaluate the effect of the concentration of gelatin (G) (3–6 g), whey protein (W) (2.5–7.5 g) and chitosan (C) (0.5–2.5 g) on the physical, optical and mechanical properties of composite edible films (CEFs) using the response surface methodology (RSM), as well as optimizing the formulation for the packaging of foods. The results of the study were evaluated via first- and second-order multiple regression analysis to obtain the determination coefficient values with a good fit (R ˃ 0.90) for each of the response variables, except for the values of solubility and b*. The individual linear effect of the independent variables (the concentrations of gelatin, whey protein and chitosan) significantly affected (p ≤ 0.05) the water vapor permeability (WVP), strength and solubility of the edible films. The WVP of the edible films varied from 0.90 to 1.62 × 10−11 g.m/Pa.s.m2, the resistance to traction varied from 0.47 MPa to 3.03 MPa and the solubility varied from 51.06% to 87%. The optimized values indicated that the CEF prepared with a quantity of 4 g, 5 g and 3 g of gelatin, whey protein and chitosan, respectively, provided the CEF with a smooth, continuous and transparent surface, with L values that resulted in a light-yellow hue, a lower WVP, a maximum strength (resistance to traction) and a lower solubility. The results revealed that the optimized formulation of the CEF of G–W–C allowed a good validation of the prediction model and could be applied, in an effective manner, to the food packaging industry, which could help in mitigating the environmental issues associated with synthetic packaging materials. 相似文献

Despite considerable advances in recent years, challenges in delivery and storage of biological drugs persist and may delay or prohibit their clinical application. Though nanoparticle-based approaches for small molecule drug encapsulation are mature, encapsulation of proteins remains problematic due to destabilization of the protein. Reverse micelles composed of decylmonoacyl glycerol (10MAG) and lauryldimethylamino-N-oxide (LDAO) in low-viscosity alkanes have been shown to preserve the structure and stability of a wide range of biological macromolecules. Here, we present a first step on developing this system as a future platform for storage and delivery of biological drugs by replacing the non-biocompatible alkane solvent with solvents currently used in small molecule delivery systems. Using a novel screening approach, we performed a comprehensive evaluation of the 10MAG/LDAO system using two preparation methods across seven biocompatible solvents with analysis of toxicity and encapsulation efficiency for each solvent. By using an inexpensive hydrophilic small molecule to test a wide range of conditions, we identify optimal solvent properties for further development. We validate the predictions from this screen with preliminary protein encapsulation tests. The insight provided lays the foundation for further development of this system toward long-term room-temperature storage of biologics or toward water-in-oil-in-water biologic delivery systems. 相似文献

The stability of certain steady flows in a rotating system with rigid bottom and free top surfaces is investigated. The simplest flow states having the essential spatial variations of steady responses of a rotating fluid system to differential heating in the horizontal are studied, that is, those with a constant gradient temperature distribution with both horizontal and vertical components, and the accompanying Coriolis-balanced constant velocity shear (thermal wind). Ekman boundary layers and intermediate boundary layers are encountered in a systematic asymptotic analysis in two small parameters, the Ekman number and an inverse Richardson number. The resulting neutral stability curves indicate the possibility of instabilities above the inviscid stability criterion due to Eady, for some mean flow configurations. The estimate of the critical Taylor number is numerically close to the values obtained in the most nearly applicable experiments. 相似文献

A high-performance liquid chromatography tandem mass spectrometric method was developed and validated for cenicriviroc (CVC) quantification in human plasma and cerebrospinal fluid (CSF). The method involved precipitation with acetonitrile and injecting supernatants onto the column. Separation was achieved on an XBridge C18 column with a gradient elution of 0.1% formic acid in water and acetonitrile. Analyte detection was conducted in positive ion mode using selected reaction monitoring. The m/z transitions were: CVC (697.3 → 574.3) and CVC-d7 (704.4 → 574.3). Calibration curve ranged from 5 to 1000 ng/mL for plasma and from 0.241 to 15.0 ng/mL for CSF. The intra- and inter-day precision and accuracy were <15% for both plasma and CSF across four different concentrations. CVC recovery from plasma and artificial CSF was >90%. The structural features of a recently introduced class of 1,3-dipolar reagents have been computed by density functional theory and ab initio methods. The reagents are formally derived from Münchnones by replacement of the C O group with a PR3 unit. The parent species (PR3 = PH3) shows a long P...O interaction (2.55 A at the B3LYP/6-31+G(d) level), together with a nonplanar ring, and is best described as a weakly chelated acylamino-phosphonium ylide. The corresponding acyclic form, in which the P...O interaction is absent, is predicted to be 2-3 kcal mol-1 higher in enthalpy. Variation of the phosphorus substituents exerts a marked effect on the P...O distance, with electron-withdrawing groups favoring a covalent interaction [P...O 1.97 A for PR3 = PPh(catechyl)] and electron-donating groups favoring a weak interaction [P...O 3.92 A for PR3 = PPh3]. However, this variation has little effect on the relative energies of the cyclic and acyclic forms.
