High levels of ultraviolet‐B (UVB) radiation can negatively affect aquatic animals. Macrobrachium olfersi is a prawn that lives in clear freshwaters and during the breeding season, females carry eggs in an external brood pouch. Therefore, we hypothesize that eggs are also exposed to environmental UVB radiation. The aim of this study was to investigate whether UVB radiation induces DNA damage and compromises cell cycle in embryos of M. olfersi. In laboratory, UVB irradiance (310 mW. cm?2) that embryos receive in the natural environment was simulated. After irradiation, embryos were kept under different light conditions in order to recognize the presence of cell repair. UVB radiation induces DNA damage, specifically thymine dimers. After 48 h of UVB exposure, a significant decrease in the level of these dimers was observed in embryos kept under visible light while it remained constant in the dark. Moreover, under visible light and darkness, a decrease in proliferation was observed after 48 h of irradiation. An increase in PCNA expression and decrease in p53 expression were observed after, respectively, 1 and 48 h of exposure. Our results showed that UVB radiation disturbs the cell cycle and induces DNA damage in M. olfersi embryos. However, under visible light these embryos showed successful DNA repair. 相似文献

Multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNT) have been used as fillers to improve thermal properties such as glass transition temperature (T g) of epoxy materials. In this work, nanocomposites based on diglycidyl ether of bisphenol A resin and triethylenetetramine (TETA) were prepared by a three-roll mill process with TETA-functionalized (MWCNT–COTETA) and neat MWCNT. Thermogravimetric analysis of the nanofillers showed that in the case of MWCNT–COTETA, there is a 15 % mass loss that can be attributed to –COTETA and residual oxygen-containing functional groups. The influence of chemical modification on the behavior of the glass T g was evaluated by dynamic scanning calorimetry. The MWCNT–COTETA allowed a ~20 °C reproducible increase of T g in concentrations in the range of 0.5–1.0 mass%. Furthermore, images obtained by scanning electron microscopy were used to investigate the morphology of the polymer matrix and its interfaces. The quality of the dispersion and interaction of the nanotubes in the epoxy matrix was assessed from the images. A novel electrochemical genosensor based on a graphite electrode modified with poly(4-aminophenol) has been constructed for prognostic of neuroblastoma, a malignant tumor originating from embryonic precursor cells of the sympathetic nervous system and associated with the amplification of the MYCN oncogene. The genosensor exhibited distinct electrical and morphological properties using rhodamine B as indicator of DNA hybridization. The detection limit was evaluated to be 0.47 μmol L?1 (n = 3), and the electrochemical genosensor was selective for the complementary DNA, using serum sample. This DNA sensing platform was successfully applied to detect MYCN, an important biomarker for neuroblastoma. 相似文献

Novel nanographenes were prepared by a photochemical cyclodehydrochlorination (CDHC) reaction. Chlorinated precursors were irradiated in acetone in the presence of a base or in pure benzene and underwent multiple (up to four) regioselective cyclization reactions to provide rigid π‐conjugated molecules. Pure compounds were recovered in good yields by simple filtration at the end of the reaction. The CDHC reaction showed compatibility with both electron‐poor and electron‐rich substrates, thus allowing the synthesis of pyridine‐ and thiophene‐fused nanographenes. It also enabled the synthesis of sterically hindered contorted π‐conjugated molecules without causing full aromatization. A kinetic study showed that the CDHC reaction under the conditions used is a very fast process, and some reactions are completed within minutes. The CDHC reaction thus shows great potential as an alternative to other reactions involving harsher conditions for the preparation of nanographenes. 相似文献

High levels of the so-called community noise may produce hazardous effect on the health of a population exposed to them for large periods of time. Hence, the study of the behaviour of those noise measurements is very important. In this work we analyse that in terms of the probability of exceeding a given threshold level a certain number of times in a time interval of interest. Since the datasets considered contain missing measurements, we use a time series model to estimate the missing values and complete the datasets. Once the data is complete, we use a non-homogeneous Poisson model with multiple change-points to estimate the probability of interest. Estimation of the parameters of the models are made using the usual time series methodology as well as the Bayesian point of view via Markov chain Monte Carlo algorithms. The models are applied to data obtained from two measuring sites in Messina, Italy. 相似文献

Dewetting of thin films of charged polymer solutions produces complex patterns that can be applied to direct nanoparticle organization on solid substrates. The morphology produced by dewetting can be controlled by the solution properties, temperature, and substrate wetting. In this work, new results on this liquid-template self-assembly system are presented, with special emphasis on producing large arrays of organized nanoparticles. On a hydrophilic substrate with complete wetting, the patterns include polygonal networks and parallel-track arrays that extend over several hundreds of microns. These large structures are formed under well-controlled drying conditions and characterized by scanning electron microscopy, which is better suited for the examination of large as well as small areas than atomic force microscopy. On partial wetting substrates, new patterns are observed, including a complex set of parallel curved bands with variable particle number densities. 相似文献

A re-examination of cuticular components of Heliotropium filifolium allowed the isolation of four new compounds: 3'-hydroxy-2',2',6'-trimethyl-3H-spiro[1-benzo-furan-2,1'-cyclohexane]-5-carboxylic acid(2), methyl 3'-acetyloxy-2',2',6'-trimethyl-3H-spiro[1-benzofuran-2,1'-cyclohexane]-5-carboxylate (3), methyl 3'-isopentanoyloxy-2',2',6'-trimethyl-3H-spiro[1-benzofuran-2,1'-cyclohexane]-5-carboxylate (4) and methyl 3'-benzoyloxy-2',2',6'-trimethyl-3H-spiro[1-benzofuran-2,1'-cyclohexane]-5-carboxylate (5).Compounds 2-5 were identified by their spectroscopic analogies with filifolinol (1), and their structures confirmed by chemical correlation with 1. The antimicrobial properties of the compounds were tested against Gram positive and Gram negative bacteria. Some of them proved to be active against Gram positive, but inactive against Gram negative bacteria. In searching for structure-activity relationships from the obtained MIC values, lipophilicity was shown to be an important variable. 相似文献

A spin-wave theory is presented which explains the frequency pulling and mode locking observed when two closely spaced spin-transfer nanometer-scale oscillators with slightly different frequencies are separately driven in the same magnetic thin film by spin-polarized carriers at high direct-current densities. The theory confirms recent experimental evidence that the origin of the phenomena lies in the nonlinear interaction between two overlapping spin waves excited in the magnetic nanostructure. 相似文献

A procedure for determination of Cd, Pb, Cu and Ni in high-salinity waters by inductively coupled plasma optical emission spectrometry has been developed. It is based on cloud-point extraction of these metals as complexes of diethyldithiocarbamate (NaDDTC) in micellar media of non ionic surfactant octylphenoxypolyethoxyethanol (Triton X-114). Multivariate optimisation techniques have been applied to optimise the experimental variables. A full two-level factorial design was used to evaluate the influence of variables and Doehlert design was performed to find the optimum values. The effect of interference from residual salinity in surfactant-rich phase was also investigated. The developed procedure allows to achieve enhancement factors of 20.0, 20.4, 19.5 and 20.6, along with limits of detection (3σ B) of 0.030, 2.1, 0.62 and 0.27 µg L?1, and precision expressed as relative standard deviation (%RSD, n = 10) of 3.7 (40.0 µg L?1), 5.7 (20.0 µg L?1), 6.6 (20.0 µg L?1) and 3.1% (10.0 µg L?1) for Cd, Pb, Cu and Ni, respectively. The accuracy was evaluated by spike tests on the seawater (salinity of 35‰) and petroleum produced formation waters (salinity between 15‰ and 75‰).
