The equilibrium parameters for the adsorption of Mo(VI) on gamma-Al(2)O(3) and of Co(II) and Pt(IV) on MoO(3)/gamma-Al(2)O(3) were determined. The adsorption isotherms were performed from aqueous solutions of the corresponding precursors on two different alumina supports. According to the classification given by Giles, L-type-shaped, subgroup 2, adsorption curves were found for the system Mo on gamma-Al(2)O(3), L-type, subgroup 1, for the Pt on MoO(3)/gamma-Al(2)O(3), and S-type for Co on the MoO(3)/gamma-Al(2)O(3) system. Numerical calculations were carried out for all the isotherms to find the equilibrium parameters. These constants are being used to model the development of Pt, Co, and Mo profiles on MoO(3)/gamma-Al(2)O(3) or gamma-Al(2)O(3) extrudates, respectively, which belong to the new generation of noble-metal-MoO(3)/gamma-Al(2)O(3)-supported catalysts to be used in oil-refining processes. The problem of embedding of several monomeric units (benzene, thiophene, isothianaphthene) into linear oligoenes or into a polymer built up by the same units is discussed. Using a simple model Hamiltonian, we evaluate the geometry (bond lengths) and electronic structure (energy gaps) of conjugated oligomers containing up to 200 atoms. Special attention is paid to end effects. The quinoid-aromatic transition and the conjugation interruption due to embedded defects is studied in some detail.  相似文献

The reactions of tellurium tetrahalides and triphenylphosphine in tetrahydrofuran have been carried out under ambient conditions and afford [(Ph(3)PO)(2)H](2)[Te(2)X(10)] [X = Cl (1), Br (2)] and [(Ph(3)PO)(3)(OH(3)])(2)[TeI(6)] (4). The X-ray structures of 1 and 2 show that they are isostructural and contain discrete [Te(2)X(10)](2-) anions exhibiting octahedral coordination around both tellurium atoms with one shared edge and [Ph(3)POH...OPPh(3)](+) cations that show strong hydrogen bonds (the O...O distances are 2.399 and 2.404 A for 1 and 2, respectively). The compound 4 is built up with discrete octahedral hexaiodotellurate anions and [(Ph(3)PO)(3)(OH(3))](+) cations. The reaction of TeBr(4) and PPh(3) also results in the formation of formally zwitterionic Ph(3)PO(CH(2))(4)TeBr(4) (3). This reaction involves an unprecedented THF ring opening in which the oxygen atom becomes bonded to the phosphorus atom of triphenylphosphine and the carbon atom at the other end of the five-atomic chain becomes bonded to the tellurium atom of TeBr(4). The ring opening of the solvent THF is also taking place in the reaction involving tellurium tetraiodide, as indicated by the formation of C(4)H(8)TeI(2) (5). The reaction may initially lead to Ph(3)PI(2) that reacts with THF yielding Ph(3)PO and ICH(2)(CH(2))(2)CH(2)I. The latter species reacts with elemental tellurium producing 5. Depending on the conditions upon crystallization, two polymorphs of C(4)H(8)TeI(2) (5a and 5b) are observed. While the molecular structures of the two forms are virtually identical, their packing and intermolecular contacts are different. Two further minor products (6a and 6b) were isolated in the reaction of TeI(4) and PPh(3): Both are formally 1:1 adducts of 5 and TeI(4), but they differ considerably in their structures. 6a can be formulated as [C(4)H(8)TeI(+)](2)[Te(2)I(10)(2-)] and 6b as [C(4)H(8)TeI(+)](2)(TeI(3)(+))(2)(I(-))(4). The latter compound exhibits framework similar to that of the tetramers in gamma- and delta-TeI(4).  相似文献

Four diterpenes and a nor-diterpenoid, all of which possess unusual carbocyclic skeletons, were isolated from the hexane solubles of the West Indian gorgonian Pseudopterogorgia elisabethae. The structures and relative configurations of novel metabolites elisabethin D (2), elisabethin D acetate (3), 3-epi-elisabanolide (5), elisapterosin A (6), and elisapterosin B (7) were elucidated by interpretation of overall spectral data, which included 2D NMR correlation methods, IR, UV, and accurate mass measurements (HREI-MS and HRFAB-MS), chemical reactions, and X-ray diffraction analyses. The tetracyclic carbon skeleton of the elisapterosins is undescribed and constitutes a new class of C(20) rearranged diterpenes. Elisapterosin B displays strong in vitro anti-tuberculosis activity.  相似文献

The synthesis and stereochemistry of some new bis(1,3-oxathian-2-yl) derivatives are reported. The conformational behavior of these compounds and the orientation of their substituents are deduced from the NMR spectra, from the X-ray crystal structures of two compounds and from the ab-initio level calculations. The epimerization of diastereoisomers and the chair ⇌ 22,5-twist equilibria were studied by variable temperature NMR.  相似文献

Various high levels of theory have been applied to the characterization of two higher lying biradicaloid metastable singlet states of peroxynitrous acid. A singlet minimum (cis-2) was located that had an elongated O-O distance (2.17 A) and was only 12.2 kcal/mol [UB3LYP/6-311+G(3df,2p)+ZPVE] higher in energy than its ground-state precursor. A trans-metastable singlet (trans-2) was 10.9 kcal/mol higher in energy than ground-state HO-ONO. CASSCF(12,10)/6-311+G(d,p) calculations predict the optimized geometries of these cis- and trans-metastable singlets to be close to those obtained with DFT. Optimization of cis- and trans-2 within the COSMO solvent model suggests that both exist as energy minima in polar media. Both cis- and trans-2 exist as hydrogen bonded complexes with several water molecules. These collective data suggest that solvated forms of cis-2.3H(2)O and trans-2.3H(2)O represent the elusive higher lying biradicaloid minima that were recently (J. Am. Chem. Soc. 2003, 125, 16204) advocated as the metastable forms of peroxynitrous acid (HOONO). The involvement of metastable trans-2 in the gas phase oxidation of methane and isobutane is firmly established to take place on the unrestricted [UB3LYP/6-311+G(d,p)] potential energy surface (PES) with classical activations barriers for the hydrogen abstraction step that are 15.7 and 5.9 kcal/mol lower than the corresponding activation energies for producing products methanol and tert-butyl alcohol formed on the restricted PES. The oxidation of dimethyl sulfide and dimethyl selenide, two-electron oxidations, proceeds by an S(N)2-like attack of the heteroatom lone pair on the O-O bond of ground-state peroxynitrous acid. No involvement of metastable forms of HO-ONO was discernible.  相似文献

The binding of a chiral quaternary ammonium ion to a cyclopeptide containing aromatic amino acid subunits is affected not only by the configuration of the cation but also by the configuration of the chiral counterion. Analysis of the binding equilibria shows that complex formation involves interaction of the whole ion pair with the host indicating that steric requirements of the anion influence complex geometry and stability.  相似文献

The arginine repressor (ArgR) from Escherichia coli regulates genes for L-arginine metabolism and is a required recombination factor for colE1 plasmid replication. Both functions require binding of L-arginine to the protein. In this work, nano-electrospray ionization time-of-flight mass spectrometry (nano-ESI-TOFMS) is used to study conformational and oligomeric states of intact ArgR and its isolated structural domains. In agreement with X-ray diffraction studies, it is shown that ArgR oligomerizes to form hexamers in both the presence and absence of L-arginine, and the basic unit of oligomerization appears to be the trimer. Higher-order assembly into dodecamers is also detected. The isolated C-terminal domain is found to associate into trimers and hexamers whereas the N-terminal domain is detected in its monomeric form. The observed species distributions suggest a role for the N-terminal domain in hexamer stabilization.  相似文献

We study the kinetics of diffusion-limited catalytically activated A+B-->B reactions taking place in three-dimensional systems, in which an annihilation of diffusive A particles by diffusive traps B may happen only if the encounter of an A with any of the Bs happens within a special catalytic subvolumen: these subvolumens being immobile and uniformly distributed within the reaction bath. Suitably extending the classical approach of Wilemski and Fixman [J. Chem. Phys. 58, 4009 (1973)] to such three-molecular diffusion-limited reactions, we calculate analytically an effective reaction constant and show that it comprises several terms associated with the residence and joint residence times of Brownian paths in finite domains. The effective reaction constant exhibits a nontrivial dependence on the reaction radii, the mean density of catalytic subvolumens, and particles' diffusion coefficients. Finally, we discuss the fluctuation-induced kinetic behavior in such systems.  相似文献
