The perturbed chain statistical associating fluid theory (PC-SAFT) is extended to polar molecular fluids, namely dipolar and quadrupolar fluids. The extension is based on the perturbation theory for polar fluids by Stell and co-workers. Appropriate expressions are proposed for dipole-dipole, quadrupole-quadrupole, and dipole-quadrupole interactions. Furthermore, induced dipole interactions are calculated explicitly in the model. The new polar PC-SAFT model is relatively complex; for this purpose, a truncated polar PC-SAFT model is proposed using only the leading term in the polynomial expansion for polar interactions. The new model is used for the calculation of thermodynamic properties of various quadrupolar pure fluids. In all cases, the agreement between experimental data and model predictions is very good. 相似文献

In this work, an equation of state (EoS) is developed to predict accurately the phase behavior of ionic liquid + CO2 systems based on the truncated perturbed chain polar statistical associating fluid theory (tPC-PSAFT) EoS. This EoS accounts explicitly for the dipolar interactions between ionic liquid molecules, the quadrupolar interactions between CO2 molecules, and the Lewis acid-base type of association between the ionic liquid and the CO2 molecules. Physically meaningful model pure-component parameters for ionic liquids are estimated based on literature data. All experimental vapor-liquid equilibrium data are correlated with a single linearly temperature-dependent binary interaction parameter. The ability of the model to describe accurately carbon dioxide solubility in various 1-alkyl-3-methylimidazolium-based ionic liquids with different alkyl chain lengths and different anions at pressures from 0 to 100 MPa and carbon dioxide fractions from 0 to 75 mol % is demonstrated. In all cases, good agreement with experimental data is obtained. 相似文献

Si nanowires (NWs), with diameters of about 800 nm and lengths of about 10 ??m, previously synthesized by the VLS method with gold catalyst, were carburized at 1,100 °C under methane for conversion into SiC nanostructures. These experiments have shown that Si NWs have been transformed into SiC nanotubes (NTs) with approximately the same sizes. Nanotubes?? sidewall thickness varies from 20 to 150 nm depending on the NTs?? height. These SiC nanotubes are hexagonal in shape and polycrystalline. A model of growth based on the out-diffusion of Si through the SiC layer was proposed to explain the transformation from Si nanowires to SiC nanotubes. This model was completed with thermodynamic calculations on the Si?CH2?CCH4?CO2 system and with results from complementary experiment using propane precursor. Routes for obtaining crystalline SiC NTs using this reaction are proposed. 相似文献

Parabens have been widely employed as preservatives since the 1920s for extending the shelf life of foodstuffs, medicines, and daily care products. Given the fact that there are some legitimate concerns related to their potential multiple endocrine-disrupting properties, the development of novel bioanalytical methods for their biomonitoring is crucial. In this study, a fabric phase sorptive extraction reversed-phase liquid chromatography method coupled with UV detection (FPSE-HPLC-UV) was developed and validated for the quantitation of seven parabens in human plasma samples. Chromatographic separation of the seven parabens and p-hydroxybenzoic acid was achieved on a semi-micro Spherisorb ODS1 analytical column under isocratic elution using a mobile phase containing 0.1% (v/v) formic acid and 66% 49 mM ammonium formate aqueous solution in acetonitrile at flow rate 0.25 mL min−1 with a 24-min run time for each sample. The method was linear at a concentration range of 20 to 500 ng mL−1 for the seven parabens under study in human plasma samples. The efficiency of the method was proven with the analysis of 20 human plasma samples collected from women subjected to breast cancer surgery and to reconstructive and aesthetic breast surgery. The highest quantitation rates in human plasma samples from cancerous cases were found for methylparaben and isobutylparaben with average plasma concentrations at 77 and 112.5 ng mL−1. The high concentration levels detected agree with previous findings for some of the parabens and emphasize the need for further epidemiological research on the possible health effects of the use of these compounds. 相似文献

We investigated the association between superoxide dismutase (SOD) Ala16Val polymorphism and the levels of oxidized LDL lipoprotein-C (ox-LDL-C) in two age-different Greek cohorts. Four hundred fifteen middle-aged (n=147 females: 43.2+/-13 years, n=268 males: 43.3+/-14 years) Caucasian Greek subjects consisted the middle aged cohort. One hundred seventy five elderly (n=88 females: 79.9+/-4 years; n=87 males: 80.6+/-4 years) were selected from the elderly cohort. Genotype data were obtained for all of them. Multiple linear regression analysis, stratified by gender and adjusted for age, smoking habits and body mass index as covariates, showed higher ox-LDL-C levels for the middle aged men with the Val/Val genotype, compared to the other allele (Ala/Ala and Ala/Val) carriers (65.9+/-25.7 vs. 55.7+/-20.5 mg/dl; standardized beta coefficient=0.192, P=0.012). On the contrary, elderly women with the Val/Val genotype occurred with lower ox-LDL-C levels compared to the Ala/Ala or Ala/Val genotype (74.2+/-22.1 vs. 86.5+/-26.6 mg/dl; standardized beta coefficient= -0.269, P=0.015). The same trend was also recorded in elderly men, however without reaching statistical significance (standardized beta coefficient= -0.187, P=0.077). Moreover, elderly men and women with the Ala/Ala or Ala/Val genotype presented higher triglycerides levels compared to Val/Val (women: 145.2+/-68.7 vs. 114.3+/- 34.3 mg/dl, P= 0.027; men: 147.8+/-72.4 vs. 103.7 +/-38.0 mg/dl, P=0.002). Additionally, middle aged men with the Val/Val genotype had higher HDL-C levels compared to the Ala allele carriers. The results suggest that SOD Ala16Val polymorphism is an age-dependent modulator of ox-LDL-C levels in middle-aged men and elderly women. 相似文献

In this study,particle resuspension due to surface vibration was investigated.A spherical particle was assumed to rest on top of a thin plate,and an external vibrating force was applied normal on the plate at t=0 and at distance R from the particle.The external driving force created a displacement field in both time and space domains,where deformations in the body of the plate were considered small elastic oscillations that are perpendicular to the propagation of the displacement.Free oscillations were introduced via the theory of elasticity and the creation of waves on thin plates,i.e.,bending waves.Particle motion in the vertical direction was initiated through plate displacement,provided that inertia due to particle mass is overcome.In particular,the particle was assumed to oscillate with a force(of oscillation)estimated via Newton’s second law of motion,comprising of two components:the acceleration due to the plate displacement and the particle mass.Subsequently,a simple force balance method was used to determine the conditions for resuspension.Accordingly,resuspension occurs when the oscillation force exceeds the couple of the adhesive and gravitational forces.The results suggest that the plate displacement depends on the characteristics of the applied force,material properties,and plate thickness.In addition,it was found that the oscillation force is substantially lower than the applied force and that it depends on plate displacement and particle mass.Additionally,the particle size significantly influencedthe outcome of resuspension.Thus,resuspension is favorable for large particles,strong applied forces,and high forcing frequencies. 相似文献

The concept of a 1‐rotational factorization of a complete graph under a finite group was studied in detail by Buratti and Rinaldi. They found that if admits a 1‐rotational 2‐factorization, then the involutions of are pairwise conjugate. We extend their result by showing that if a finite group admits a 1‐rotational ‐factorization with even and odd, then has at most conjugacy classes containing involutions. Also, we show that if has exactly conjugacy classes containing involutions, then the product of a central involution with an involution in one conjugacy class yields an involution in a different conjugacy class. We then demonstrate a method of constructing a 1‐rotational ‐factorization under given a 1‐rotational 2‐factorization under a finite group . This construction, given a 1‐rotational solution to the Oberwolfach problem , allows us to find a solution to when the ’s are even (), and when is an odd prime, with no restrictions on the ’s. 相似文献

The aim of the present study was to characterize and classify olive oils from Western Greece according to cultivar and geographical origin, based on volatile compound composition, by means of Linear Discriminant Analysis. A total of 51 olive oil samples were collected during the harvesting period 2007-2008 from six regions of Western Greece and from six local cultivars. Forty-five of the samples were characterized as extra virgin olive oils. The analysis of volatile compounds was performed by Headspace Solid Phase Microextraction-Gas Chromatography/Mass Spectrometry (HS-SPME-GC/MS). Fifty-three (53) different volatile compounds were tentatively identified and semi-quantified. Using selected volatile compound composition data (selection was based on the application of ANOVA to total volatiles to determine those variables showing substantial differences among samples of different geographical origin/cultivar), the olive oil samples were satisfactorily classified according to geographical origin (87.2%) and cultivar (74%). 相似文献
