Metabolic pathways are highly regulated by effector molecules that influences the rate of enzymatic reactions. Inspired by the catalytic regulation found in living cells, we report a Pt2L4 cage of which the activity can be controlled by effectors that bind inside the cage. The cage shows catalytic activity in the lactonization of alkynoic acids, with the reaction rates dependent on the effector guest bound in the cage. Some effector guests enhance the rate of the lactonization by up to 19-fold, whereas one decreases it by 5-fold. When mixtures of specific substrates are used, both starting materials and products act as guests for the Pt2L4 cage, enhancing its catalytic activity for one substrate while reducing its activity for the other. The reported regulatory behavior obtained by the addition of effector molecules paves the way to the development of more complex, metabolic-like catalyst systems. 相似文献

A polycyclic aromatic ligand for site-selective metal coordination was designed by using DFT calculations. The computational prediction was confirmed by experiments: 2,3,6,7-tetramethoxy-9,10-dimethylanthracene initially reacts with [(C5H5)Ru(MeCN)3]BF4 to give the kinetic product with a [(C5H5)Ru]+ fragment coordinated at the terminal ring, which is then transformed into the thermodynamic product with coordination through the central ring. These isomeric complexes have markedly different UV/Vis spectra, which was explained by analysis of the frontier orbitals. At the same time, the calculations suggest that electrostatic interactions are mainly responsible for the site selectivity of the coordination. 相似文献

Monodisperse nonmagnetic macroporous poly(glycidyl methacrylate) (PGMA) microspheres were synthesized by multistep swelling polymerization of glycidyl methacrylate, ethylene dimethacrylate and 2-[(methoxycarbonyl)methoxy]ethyl methacrylate (MCMEMA). This was followed (a) by ammonolysis to modify the microspheres with amino groups, and (b) by incorporation of iron oxide (γ-Fe2O3) into the pores to render the particles magnetic. The resulting porous and magnetic microspheres were characterized by scanning and transmission electron microscopy (SEM and TEM), atomic absorption and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (AAS and FTIR), elemental analysis, vibrating magnetometry, mercury porosimetry and Brunauer-Emmett-Teller adsorption/desorption isotherms. The microspheres are meso- and macroporous, typically 5 μm in diameter, contain 0.9 mM · g?1 of amino groups and 14 wt.% of iron according to elemental analysis and AAS, respectively. The particles were conjugated to p46/Myo1C protein, a potential biomarker of autoimmune diseases, to isolate specific autoantibodies in the blood of patients suffering from multiple sclerosis (MS). The p46/Myo1C loaded microspheres are shown to enable the preconcentration of minute quantities of specific immunoglobulins prior to their quantification via SDS-PAGE. Past tests of nuclear weapons in the atmosphere, nuclear energy facilities and tritium of natural origin are main sources of tritium in the environment. Thanks to its presence in environment and its favourable properties, tritium is used as a radiotracer. Since stopping of atmospheric nuclear tests, tritium in precipitation has been decreasing towards natural levels below 1 Bq l?1 and precise analyses of low level tritium activities are necessary. Methods of alkylation of α-, β- and γ-cyclodextrins have been optimized with regard to the parameters of reaction, degree of alkylation and yields. The analysis of the reaction mixtures and of the isolated single species has been performed by high temperature GC and HPLC. The phase systems of the preferably applied HPLC have been carefully adjusted by variation of both the stationary and mobile phases to the very different hydrophobicities of the various alkylated CD species which have been synthesized.
