This paper is basically about local, Cohen-Macaulay rings although many of the theorems are more general in nature. The major tool that we shall use is the Koszul complex and its self duality. The Koszul complex is closely linked with the functors Γ and λ which we shall define presently. Our main results will be the computation of the derived functors of Γ and λ. 相似文献
We present a new approach (demonstrated experimentally and through modeling) to characterize the spectral envelope of a terahertz (THz) pulse in a single shot. The coherent THz pulse is produced by a femtosecond electron bunch and contains information on the bunch duration. The technique, involving a single low-power laser probe pulse, is an extension of the conventional spectral encoding method (limited in time resolution to hundreds of femtoseconds) into a regime only limited in resolution by the laser pulse length (tens of femtoseconds). While only the bunch duration is retrieved (and not the exact charge profile), such a measurement provides a useful and critical parameter for optimization of the electron accelerator. 相似文献
Stimuli-responsive hydrogels are intriguing biomimetic materials. Previous efforts to develop mechano-responsive hydrogels have mostly relied on chemical modifications of the hydrogel structures. Here, we present a simple, generalizable strategy that confers mechano-responsive behavior on hydrogels. Our approach involves embedding hybrid vesicles, composed of phospholipids and amphiphilic block copolymers, within the hydrogel matrix to act as signal transducers. Under mechanical stress, these vesicles undergo deformation and rupture, releasing encapsulated compounds that can control the hydrogel network. To demonstrate this concept, we embedded vesicles containing ethylene glycol tetraacetic acid (EGTA), a calcium chelator, into a calcium-crosslinked alginate hydrogel. When compressed, the released EGTA sequesters calcium ions and degrades the hydrogel. This study provides a novel method for engineering mechano-responsive hydrogels that may be useful in various biomedical applications. 相似文献
Alginate, a natural polysaccharide that has shown great potential as a cell scaffold for the regeneration of many tissues, has only been nominally explored as an electrospun biomaterial due to cytotoxic chemicals that have typically been used during nanofiber formation and crosslinking. Alginate cannot be electrospun by itself and is often co‐spun with poly(ethylene oxide) (PEO). In this work, a cell adhesive peptide (GRGDSP) modified alginate (RA) and unmodified alginate (UA) were blended with PEO at different concentrations and blending ratios, and then electrospun to prepare uniform nanofibers. The ability of electrospun RA scaffolds to support human dermal fibroblast cell attachment, spreading, and subsequent proliferation was greatly enhanced on the adhesion ligand‐modified nanofibers, demonstrating the promise of this electrospun polysaccharide material with defined nanoscale architecture and cell adhesive properties for tissue regeneration applications.
Laser plasma accelerators have produced femtosecond electron bunches with a relative energy spread ranging from 100% to a few percent. Simulations indicate that the measured energy spread can be dominated by a correlated spread, with the slice spread significantly lower. Measurements of coherent optical transition radiation are presented for broad-energy-spread beams with laser-induced density and momentum modulations. The long-range (meter-scale) observation of coherent optical transition radiation indicates that the slice energy spread is below the percent level to preserve the modulations. 相似文献
We investigate O(2) interaction with various metalloporphyrins (MnP, FeP, CoP, and NiP) using ab initio calculations based on density-functional theory. We discuss the trends in the activation barriers for the O-O bond cleavage in relation to the geometric, vibrational, electronic, and energetic properties of the systems. Whether the lowest unoccupied molecular orbital-highest occupied molecular orbital (LUMO-HOMO) levels of the metalloporphyrins involve the corresponding metal centers depends on the d orbital occupancies of the metals. We found that activation barriers for the O(2) dissociation can be mainly determined from the LUMO-HOMO characters of the metalloporphyrins, and consequently the FeP is the best catalyst with respect to the O(2) interaction from adsorption to dissociation. 相似文献
