The presence of acid-base groups of at least four types on the surface of a hydrated aluminum oxide sol particles is disclosed by pK spectroscopy. The diversity of these groups is likely caused by their different environments. It has been shown that the carbohydrates ofSymphytum asperum L. — a promising fodder plant — include water-soluble polysaccharides, pectin substances, protopectin, hemicelluloses, a glucomannan, and cellulose. The quantitative amounts of the polysaccharide fractions in the raw material have been established and their characteristics are given. A new method of determining the thermodynamic temperature of colloid solutions placed onto a sealed glass vessel is considered; the method is based on measurements of the magnetic susceptibility in flowing liquid by the magnetic nuclear resonance method.
