We study structural properties of the q-color Potts field theory which, for real values of q, describes the scaling limit of the random cluster model. We show that the number of independent n-point Potts spin correlators coincides with that of independent n-point cluster connectivities and is given by generalized Bell numbers. Only a subset of these spin correlators enters the determination of the Potts magnetic properties for q integer. The structure of the operator product expansion of the spin fields for generic q is also identified. For the two-dimensional case, we analyze the duality relation between spin and kink field correlators, both for the bulk and boundary cases, obtaining in particular a sum rule for the kink-kink elastic scattering amplitudes. 相似文献

A study of the crystallographic, optical, and thermochemical properties of hydrazonium tartrate and deuterated hydrazonium tartrate enantiomers is described. Crystals of the enantiomers are orthorhombic with a tetramolecular cell. The space group is P212121 with the lattice parameters a0 = 7.640 ± 0.002 Å, b0 = 13.441 ± 0.003 Å, and c0 = 7.029 ± 0.002 Å. No change in lattice parameters is observed on deuteration. Optical second harmonic powder analysis shows the crystals to be phase matchable at 1.06 μm with d2ω = 11 d2ωα-SiO2. The optical nonlinearity being unaffected by deuterium substitution is attributed to the nonlinear electronic polarizability of the hydrogen bonds. Crystals are transparent from 239 nm to 1.61 μm. Deuteration shifts the long wavelength cutoff to 2.07 μm, without affecting the band edge. 相似文献

We study the low-energy universality observed in three-body models through a scale-independent approach. From the already
estimated infinite number of three-body excited energy states, which happen in the limit when the energy of the subsystem
goes to zero, we are able to identify the lower energies of the helium trimers as possible examples of Thomas-Efimov states.
By considering this example, we illustrate the usefulness of a scaling function, which we have defined. The approach is applied
to bosonic systems of three identical particles, and also to the case where two kinds of particles are present.

We show that sharp imaging and quantitative phase-contrast microcopy is possible in microfluidics in flowing turbid media by digital holography. In fact, in flowing liquids with suspended colloidal particles, clear vision is hindered and cannot be recovered by any other microscopic imaging technique. On the contrary, using digital holography, clear imaging is possible thanks to the Doppler frequency shift experienced by the photons scattered by the flowing colloidal particles, which do not contribute to the interference process, i.e. the recorded hologram. The method is illustrated and imaging results are demonstrated for pure phase objects, i.e. biological cells in microfluidic channels. 相似文献

Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) methodologies were applied to characterize the constitutive materials and the state of degradation of a contemporary painting. The investigation was mandatory to plan a suitable restoration. Noninvasive, portable NMR allowed the detection of degraded regions of the painting based on the measurement of longitudinal relaxation time. A few samples were investigated by high resolution solid state NMR and NMR in solution, which allowed us to identify the polyurethane constituting the artefact, to investigate the microstructure in detail, and to assess that the degradation process mostly affected the ethylene units used to cap the polypropylene oxide polymeric chain. As a matter of fact, a shortening of longitudinal relaxation time was accompanied by a degradation of ethylene units. The degradation of the inorganic loading was investigated by 27Al MAS, which evidenced the absence of penta-coordinated aluminum in degraded samples. 相似文献

We developed a rapid kinetic bioassay demonstrating the inhibition of glutathione peroxidase 1 (GPx-1) by organic electrophilic
pollutants, such as acrolein, crotonaldehyde, and p-benzoquinone, that are frequently found as components of tobacco smoke, diesel exhaust, and other combustion sources. In
a complementary approach, we applied a high-resolution proton-transfer reaction time-of-flight mass spectrometer to monitor
in real-time the generation of electrophilic volatile carbonyls in cigarette smoke. The new bioassay uses the important antioxidant
selenoenzyme GPx-1, immobilized to 96-well microtiter plates, as a probe. The selenocysteine bearing subunits of the enzyme’s
catalytic site are viewed as cysteine analogues and are vulnerable to electrophilic attack by compounds with conjugated carbonyl
systems. The immobilization of GPx-1 to microtiter plate wells enabled facile removal of excess reactive inhibitory compounds
after incubation with electrophilic chemicals or aqueous extracts of air samples derived from different sources. The inhibitory
response of cigarette smoke and diesel exhaust particle extracts were compared with chemical standards of a group of electrophilic
carbonyls and the arylating p-benzoquinone. GPx-1 activity was directly inactivated by millimolar concentrations of highly reactive electrophilic chemicals
(including acrolein, glyoxal, methylglyoxal, and p-benzoquinone) and extracts of diesel and cigarette smoke. We conclude that the potential of air pollutant components to generate
oxidative stress may be, in part, a result of electrophile-derived covalent modifications of enzymes involved in the cytosolic

The need to produce an ever-increasing quantity of material products and food resulting from the planet globalization process has contributed to the spread of modern agriculture based on a linear production resulting in the generation of tons of waste. This huge amount of waste is generally accumulated in landfills, causing different environmental problems. Hence, researchers moved on to study the processes used to recover agro-industrial by-products within a circular and sustainable bio-economy concept. A systematic quest on Scopus and PubMed databases was performed to identify the data available to date on recycling agro-industrial by-products of Olea europaea L. This systematic review summarizes the knowledge regarding the use of olive trees by-products for producing animal feed, biocomposites, bioethanol, cellulose pulp, activated carbon, and as a fuel source for energy production. Furthermore, the data regarding the potential biological activity of extracts from olive roots, wood, bark, and pruning were analyzed. Olive trees by-products are, indeed, rich in molecules with antioxidant, antimicrobial, cardioprotective, and anticancer activity, representing a promising candidate for treat several human diseases. 相似文献

The objective of this study was to verify the influence of photoactivation with the argon ion laser on shrinkage stress (SS),
followed by evaluation of Vickers microhardness (VM), percentage of maximum hardness (PMH), flexural strength (FS), and flexural
modulus (FM) of a composite resin. The study groups were: L1-laser at 200 mW for 10 seconds; L2-laser at 200 mW for 20 seconds;
L3-laser at 250 mW for 10 seconds; L4-laser at 250 mW for 20 seconds; H-halogen light at 275 mW for 20 seconds. Data were
analyzed by ANOVA/Tukey’s test (α=5%). The values of SS (MPa) were statistically lower for the group L3 (1.3)c, followed by groups L1 (2.7)b, L4 (3.4)a, b,
L2 (3.7)a, and H (4.5)a. There was no difference in the values of VM when the same time of photoactivation was used, with
respective values being L1=70.1a, L2=78.1b, L3=69.9a, L4=78.1b and H=79.9b. All groups showed a PMH of at least 80%. Only
the group L1 showed differences in FS (MPa) and FM (GPa), the respective values of 86.2 and 5.4 being lower. Therefore, the
use of argon ion laser had influenced the composite resin polymerization. The L3 group presented adequate mechanical properties
and minimum SS, reducing the clinical working time for photoactivation of restorations with the tested resin by 50%. 相似文献
