Es wurde eine Laboreinrichtung zur kontiniuerlichen Aktivierungsanalyse strömender, Flüssigkeiten entworfen und gebaut. Die Einrichtung bestecht aus dem Vorratsbehälter für die Probelösung, der Aktivierungskammer, einer Pu-Be-Neutronenquelle, der Meβkammer, der Meβeinrichtung, einer Laborpumpe und einem Strömungsmesser. Die vorläufigen Versuche bewiesen, daβ mit der gebauten Einrichtung die Bestimmung von Vanadium, Silber and Kobalt möglich ist.     

Synthesis of Protein Conjugates of 2-Carboxy-L-Arabinitol 5-Phosphate and 2-Carboxy-L-Ribitol 5-Phosphate

Abstract

The synthesis of 5-O-[5-(pentanoic acid)]-phosphono-L-erythro-pent-2-ulose 2 was successfully achieved by coupling benzyl 5-hydroxypentanoate 9b and 1-O-benzyl-L-erythro-pent-2-ulose ethane- 1,2-diyl dithioacetal 13 with the enediol pyrophosphate 18. Compound 2 was coupled to carrier proteins, porcine thyroglobuline and bovine serum albumin and the conjugates were treated with KCN to give conjugates of the hapten 1, designed to raise catalytic antibodies.     

Synthesis of pentabromopseudilin and other arylpyrrole derivatives via Heck arylations

Pentrabromopseudilin and other 2 and 3-arylpyrrole derivatives were synthesized through the Heck–Matsuda reaction involving endocyclic enecarbamates and N-protected 3-pyrrolines, respectively. The overall processes permitted an easy and efficient access to these structural motifs present in several bioactive compounds. Attempts to synthesize the compound isopentabromopseudilin led to a tribromo aryl maleimide. We hypothesize that this latter compound is the putative product arising from the unusual thermal instability of isopentabromopseudilin.     

Production of metakaolin from industrial cellulose waste

Research focused on the transformation and utilization of industrial wastes into products of commercial interest plays an increasingly important role. Residual pulp can become useful in the manufacture of different materials, providing high value to this waste and reducing its environmental impact when disposed of improperly in the environment. The main constituents of this waste are kaolin and calcium carbonate (CaCO₃). Starting from kaolin, metakaolin can be produced by calcination of the residue at 630?°C for 2?h in a rotary reactor with air flow, followed by solubilization with hydrochloric acid to remove the CaCO₃. The development of technological alternatives aimed at the reuse of certain wastes can result in applications of real economic interest to the chemical industry and ceramics and glass, which is the case in this study. The raw material and metakaolin obtained were analyzed by thermogravimetric analysis and derivative thermogravimetric analysis, X-ray diffraction, and X-ray fluorescence spectroscopy with promising results. This is because metakaolin was obtained free of contamination by other materials.     

Influence of hydrogen bonds on the molecular structure and conformations of two (C30H48O2) pentacyclic triterpene isomers

The structural study of two (C₃₀H₄₈O₂) pentacyclic triterpene (PCTT) isomers is presented. These terpenes, known as 30-hydroxy-lup-20(29)-en-3-one (1) and (11α)-11-hydroxy-lup-20(29)-en-3-one (2), were isolated from Maytenus imbricata Mart. Ex Reissek (Celastraceae). The molecular structure of 1 and 2 differs in the position of the hydroxyl group. Both compounds crystallize in non-centrosymmetric space groups with two molecules in the asymmetric unit. The crystal structure of 1 shows a triclinic P1 space group (a = 9.5518(1) ?, b = 9.7083(1) ?, c = 14.4696(2) ?, α = 93.832(1)°, β = 102.833(1)°, and γ = 103.307(1)°), while compound 2 crystallizes in a monoclinic P2₁ one (a = 13.4439(16) ?, b = 14.4463(14) ?, c = 13.5224(9) ? and β = 99.703(8)°). The two molecules independent by symmetry of 1 differ slightly due to the presence of static disorder in oxygen atoms. In addition, the intermolecular geometries of 1 and 2 were analysed, and in each isomer the crystal packing is stabilized by O-H…O intermolecular hydrogen bonds and van der Waals forces.     

Studies on crude oil‐water biphasic mixtures by low‐field NMR

Low‐field ¹H NMR was used in this work for the analysis of mixtures involving crude oils and water. CPMG experiments were performed to determine the transverse relaxation time (T₂) distribution curves, which were computed by the inverse Laplace transform of the echo decay data. The instrument's ability of quantifying water and petroleum in biphasic mixtures following different methodologies was tested. For mixtures between deionized water and petroleum, one achieved excellent results, with root mean squared error of cross‐validation (RMSECV) of 0.8% for a regression between the water content (wt %) and the relative area of the water peak in the T₂ distribution curve, or a standard deviation of 0.9% for the relationship between the water content and the relative water peak area, corrected by the relative hydrogen index of the crude. In the case of biphasic mixtures of Mn²⁺‐doped water and crude oils, the best result of RMSECV = 1.6% was achieved by using the raw magnetization decay data for a partial least squares regression. Sol–gel route to prepare well-ordered nanowires with anodic aluminum oxide template

In this work, we report a sol?Cgel route to fabricate oxide nanowires of BiFeO₃ using two-step anodic aluminum oxide as template. We prepared oxide nanowires with uniform dimensions that can vary from 35 to 100?nm in diameter and with 4???m in length, as confirmed by scanning electron microscopy and transmission electron microscopy measurements. Magnetization measurements, performed in a vibrating sample magnetometer, show that this nanostructures present ferromagnetism at room temperature.
