The concept of strong interactions need not be limited to the sector of physics taken by QCD. While this domain is investigated by RHIC, LHC will be able to probe potential new strong interactions simultaneously: Finding the precise mechanism for electroweak symmetry breaking is one of the prime problems of physics. Intricately linked to this point is the question after the true nature or even the existence of the Higgs boson. Here, we present stronly interacting theories providing an explanation for the hierarchy problem and leading to a light composite Higgs boson, favoured by experimental data. Our variation of the standard model is consistent with precision data. We achieve this accordance by using technifermions in a higher representation of their gauge group. Anomaly conditions require at least one extra lepton family for some of the theories whereby they contain a natural dark matter candidate. We can accurately determine the masses of said leptons from experimental data.  相似文献

Textured composite samples consisting of Nd13.6Fe73.6Ga0.6Co6.6B5.6 (MQU-F™) and micron-sized Fe particles with weight ratios from 100:0 to 70:30 have been prepared by hot deformation. Microstructure studies revealed a layered structure of both phases with the layer normal parallel to the pressing direction. Magnetic measurements showed single-phase hysteresis curves for all samples when measured along the pressing direction, which is also the easy axis of magnetization. Coercivity decreased drastically from 1.32 T for pure NdFeB samples to 0.154 T for a sample with 30 wt% Fe. Magneto-optical Kerr microscopy with a digitally enhanced imaging technique has been used to examine the evolution of magnetic domains in the hard and soft phase during demagnetizing a sample consisting of 70 wt% NdFeB and 30 wt% Fe. It is shown that demagnetization takes place via domain rearrangements within the soft phase, which lead to and support the nucleation of reversed interaction domains at phase boundaries. Also nucleation of interaction domains within the hard magnetic phase could be revealed.  相似文献

A mild and efficient procedure has been developed to obtain covalently attached self-assembled monolayers (SAMs) on Si(111) with photochromic azobenzene head-groups. Starting from neat or diluted carboxylic acid functionalized monolayers on-chip coupling reactions were applied to attach hydroxyl-functionalized azobenzene units to the SAMs by ester bond formation. The modified surfaces were characterized by high-resolution X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), transmission Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), and contact angle measurements. Reversible cis trans isomerizations of photoswitchable SAMs were monitored by wettability measurements. Tetramethylaluminato/halogenido(X) ligand exchange reactions in half-sandwich complexes [CpRLa(AlMe4)2] are feasible in non-coordinating solvents and provide access to large coordination clusters of the type [CpRLaX2]x. Incomplete exchange reactions generate the hexalanthanum clusters [CpR6La6X8(AlMe4)4] (CpR=Cp*=C5Me5, X=I; CpR=Cp′=C5H4SiMe3, X=Br, I). Treatment of [Cp*La(AlMe4)2] with two equivalents Me3SiI gave the nonalanthanum cluster [Cp*LaI2]9, while the exhaustive reaction of [Cp′La(AlMe4)2] with the halogenido transfer reagents Me3GeX and Me3SiX (X=I, Br, Cl) produced a series of monocyclopentadienyl rare-earth-metal clusters with distinct nuclearity. Depending on the halogenido ion size the homometallic clusters [Cp′LaCl2]10 and [Cp′LaX2]12 (X=Br, I) could be isolated, whereas different crystallization techniques led to the aggregation of clusters of distinct structural motifs, including the desilylated cyclopentadienyl-bridged cluster [(μ-Cp)2Cp′8La8I14] and the heteroaluminato derivative [Cp′10La10Br18(AlBr2Me2)2]. The use of the Cp′ ancillary ligand facilitates cluster characterization by means of NMR spectroscopy.  相似文献

The process of instantaneous fission in deep inelastic collisions is investigated in a classical model. Kinetic energies and angular distributions of the fragments are calculated for the proposed reaction Pb+U atE cm inc =750 MeV; an experimental setup for the separation of the fragments originating from instantaneous fission from the fragments of thermal fission is explained. We also discuss fusion following instantaneous fission as a mechanism for the production of superheavy elements and arrive at rather promising estimates.  相似文献

Summary The treatment of a multigrid method in the framework of numerical analysis elucidates that regularity of the solution is not necessary for the convergence of the multigrid algorithm but only for fast convergence. The electromagnetic radiation from two vibrating fission fragments is classically treated. The rotational and translational motion of the fragments during emission and the interference of the radiation from the two individual fragments are taken into account. It is shown that the angular distribution of the radiation contains valuable information on the fission process and that the spectral distribution depends sensitively on the damping of the shape vibration.Dedicated to Professor P. The ring-opening and ring-closure reactions of a photochromic indolylfulgimide are investigated with femtosecond vibrational spectroscopy. Spectral signatures due to excited-state decay and vibrational cooling are seen in the mid-IR region. For the ring-opening reaction triggered with visible pulses, a lifetime of the excited electronic state of 4 ps was obtained in polar solution. In a nonpolar solvent, this time constant is reduced to 2 ps. The ring-closure reaction induced with UV pulses displays an excited-state lifetime and thus a building of the photoproduct of roughly 0.5 ps. For all processes, the subsequent cooling occurs on a 15-ps time scale lasting up to approximately 50 ps. The time-resolved IR measurements do not support the existence of any long-living intermediate states.  相似文献
