Submicrometer sized gallium oxide hydroxide (GaO(OH)) and gallium oxide (Ga2O3) rods have been successfully fabricated on a large scale by refluxing an aqueous solution of Ga(NO3)3 and NH4OH in a simple domestic microwave oven (DMO). The structures, morphologies, compositions and physical properties of the as–synthesized and calcined products have been characterized by powder X-ray diffraction (XRD), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), selected area electron diffraction (SAED), selected area energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (SAEDS), thermo gravimetric analysis (TGA), differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), and energy dispersive X-ray (EDX) analysis. TEM images show that submicrometer sized as–synthesized Ga O(OH) rods have diameters of 0.3–0.5 m and lengths of 3.2–3.5 m. The calcined product consists of submicrometer rods with diameters of 0.4–0.5 m and lengths of 5–5.5 m. XRD, EDX and SAED analysis together indicate that the as–synthesized product has an orthorhombic gallium oxide hydroxide (GaO(OH)) crystal structure, and that the calcined product is rhombohedral Ga2O3. A possible mechanism for the formation of submicrometer sized GaO(OH) rods is discussed briefly. 相似文献

In this paper, gain flatness is studied for simultaneous 16-ITU-T channel amplifications at C-band (1,532–1,558 nm) in a single
stage EDFA for WDM application at different average inversion levels. The inversion levels are varied due to the change of
the input signal levels from the targeted operating point and also for dropping few numbers of channels. Specially designed
gain flattening filter (GFF) is used in order to get the flat gain with gain variation ±0.5 dB for −20 dBm/ch input signal
power (total input signal power is −8.0 dBm) at a fixed average inversion level which is maintained by proper selection of
optimum fibre length and pump power. A specific loss spectrum of GFF is obtained by writing a chirped fibre Bragg grating
of length 20 mm. Gain variations are studied by changing the total input signal levels from −8.0 dBm to −20.0 dBm and maintained
within 20.0 ± 0.5 dB by using automatic gain control (AGC) circuit. About 15 out of 16 channels are dropped and observed ±

A novel tetrafunctional epoxy resin, N,N,N,Nt'-tetraglycidyl-2,2-bis[4-(p-aminophen-oxy)phenyl]propane, has been synthesised. The curing kinetics and thermal stability of the cured product have been investigated using various amine curing-agents. Magnetic microspheres are used as mobile substrates in micro-total-analysis systems (μTAS), since the particles can be selectively functionalized to attach different bioconjugates and can be precisely manipulated using external magnetic field gradients. A large number of MEMS-based bio-analytical devices employ magnetophoretic separation as an important step during their operation. An analytical technique is proposed in this paper that describes the magnetophoretic transport of magnetic microspheres under an imposed magnetic field when there is a pressure-driven or electroosmotic flow through a microchannel. Successful magnetophoretic capture occurs if the strength of the field-inducing magnetic dipole exceeds a critical value, or if the particles are larger than a critical size. The magnetophoretic separator performance is characterized in terms of capture efficiency. The analysis shows that the capture efficiency is a function of two independent non-dimensional parameters, λ and γ that in turn involve all the physical design and operating parameters of the microfluidic separator, e.g., the dipole strength, particle size and susceptibility, fluid viscosity and velocity, channel height, and the separation of the dipole. Parametric plots of capture efficiency as function of λ and γ helps in choosing the right design and operation parameter of a practical microfluidic separator for a target level of performance. 相似文献

In this paper we report a new method of fabrication of surface tensionconfined microfluidic devices on glass. We have also
successfully carried out some well-known chemical reactions in these fluidic channels to demonstrate the usefulness of these
wall-less microchannels. The confined flow path of liquid was achieved on the basis of extreme differences in hydrophobic
and hydrophilic characters of the surface. The flow paths were fabricated by making parallel lines using permanent marker
pen ink or other polymer on glass surfaces. Two mirror image patterned glass plates were then sandwiched one on top of the
other, separated by a thin gap-created using a spacer. The aqueous liquid moves between the surfaces by capillary forces,
confined to the hydrophilic areas without wetting the hydrophobic lines, achieving liquid confinement without physical side-walls.
We have shown that the microfluidic devices designed in such a way can be very useful due to their simplicity and low fabrication
cost. More importantly, we have also demonstrated that the minimum requirement of such a working device is a hydrophilic line
surrounded by hydrophobic environment, two walls of which are constituted of air and the rest is made of a hydrophobic surface. 相似文献
