Recent observation of β decay of 115In to the first excited level of 115Sn with an extremely low Q
β value (Q
β ≤ O(1) [keV]) could be used to set a limit on neutrino mass. To give a restriction potentially competitive with those extracted
from experiments with 3H (≃2 eV) and 187Re (≃15 eV), the atomic mass difference between 115In and 115Sn and energy of the first 115Sn level should be remeasured with higher accuracy (possibly of the order of ∼1 eV).

The fabrication of high quality thin films of poly (vinylidene fluoride) embedded with multiwalled carbon nanotubes using pulsed laser deposition technique is reported. The prepared films were characterized for structural, morphology and dielectric properties. The morphology analysis revealed uniform dispersion of multiwalled carbon nanotubes throughout the polymer matrix. X-ray diffraction results suggested that the poly (vinylidene fluoride) film is in amorphous phase while addition of multiwalled carbon nanotubes showed presence of crystalline peaks in the nanocomposites films. It was interesting to note that the nanocomposite films exhibits significant enhancement of the ferroelectric β-phase as evidenced by the X-ray diffraction and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy results. The dielectric analysis shows a remarkable enhancement in the dielectric permittivity of nanocomposites with lower loss and conductivity level. The results can be attributed to the formation of minicapacitor network and relatively higher percolation threshold in the nanocomposites. 相似文献

The effect of ZnO on phase emergence and microstructure properties of glass and glass-ceramics with composition 25SiO2-50CaO-15P2O5-(10 − x)Fe2O3-xZnO (where x = 0, 2, 5, 7 mol%) has been studied. They have been characterized using X-ray diffraction (XRD), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). Surface modifications of these glass-ceramics in simulated body fluid have been studied using Fourier transform infrared reflection spectroscopy (FTIR), XPS and SEM. Results have shown a decrease in the fraction of non-bridging oxygen with increase in zinc oxide content. Emergence of crystalline phases in glass-ceramics at different heat treatment temperatures was studied using XRD. When glass is heat treated at 800 °C calcium phosphate, hematite and magnetite are developed as major phases in the glass-ceramics samples with ZnO up to 5 mol%. In addition to these, calcium silicate (Ca3Si2O7) phase is also observed when glass is heat treated at 1000 °C. The microstructure of the glass-ceramics heat treated at 800 °C exhibits the formation of nano-size (40-50 nm) grains. On heat treatment at 1000 °C crystallites grow to above 50 nm size and more than one phase are observed in the microstructure. The formation of thin flake-like structure with coarse particles is observed at high zinc oxide concentration (x = 7 mol%). In vitro studies have shown the surface modifications and formation of Ca-P-rich layer on the glass-ceramics when immersed in simulated body fluids (SBF) for different durations. Yttrium oxide thin films are deposited by microwave electron cyclotron resonance (ECR) plasma assisted metal organic chemical vapour deposition process using an indegeneously developed Y(thd)3 {(2,2,6,6-tetramethyl-3,5-heptanedionate)yttrium} precursor. Depositions were carried out at two different argon gas flow rates keeping precursor and oxygen gas flow rate constant. The deposited coatings are characterized by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), glancing angle X-ray diffraction (GIXRD) and infrared spectroscopy. Optical properties of the films are studied by spectroscopic ellipsometry. Hardness and elastic modulus of the films are measured by load depth sensing nanoindentation technique. Stability of the film and its adhesion with the substrate is inferred from the nanoscratch test.It is shown here that, the change in the argon gas flow rates changes the ionization of the gas in the microwave ECR plasma and imposes a drastic change in the characteristics like composition, structure as well as mechanical properties of the deposited film. 相似文献

We start from microscopic approach to many body physics and show the analytical steps and approximations required to arrive at the concept of quantum capacitance. These approximations are valid only in the semi-classical limit and the quantum capacitance in that case is determined by Lindhard function. The thin films of CdS1-xSex were successfully deposited over glass substrates by chemical bath deposition technique. Cadmium acetate, thiourea and sodium selenosulfate were used as source materials for Cd2+, S2? and Se2? ions, while 2-mercaptoethanol was used as capping agent. The various deposition conditions such as precursor concentration, deposition temperature, pH and deposition time were optimized for the deposition of CdS1-xSex thin films of good quality and the films were annealed at 200° and 300 °C. The structural, morphological, chemical and optical properties were examined by various characterization techniques and discussed in detail. The optical band gap of CdS1-xSex thin film samples were estimated and found in the range from 2.11 to 1.79 eV for as-deposited and annealed thin films. 相似文献

The vacuum ultraviolet (VUV) absorption spectrum of difluoromethane (CH2F2) was studied using synchrotron radiation from the storage ring Indus-1, Indore, India. Spectra were recorded in the spectral region 1050–1500 Å (~8.3–11.8 eV) at a resolution of 1.5 Å. Three absorption band systems were observed in this region. Overall features observed are in good agreement with previously published work. Some discrepancies in assignments of the observed vibronic bands carried out by previous workers have been resolved.
