Reduced sample recovery is a frequent feature of LC of macromolecules under critical conditions of enthalpic interactions (LC CC). Several methods of assessment of LC CC sample recovery are compared. A novel approach is based on an online combination of the. The LC CC column with a noninteractive SEC column. It provides not only the amount but also the molar mass of the eluted/withheld polymer. The procedure was tested with poly(methyl methacrylate), bare silica gel column packings, and “critical eluent” tetrahydrofuran/toluene. It was shown that macromolecules with higher molar masses were preferentially trapped within the LC CC column packing so that the eluted part of the sample was no longer representative. The incomplete polymer elution can make the LC CC polymer analyses susceptible to significant experimental errors. 相似文献

Polypropylene (PP) blends with acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene (ABS) were prepared using the styrene-ethylene-butylene-styrene copolymer (SEBS) as a compatibilizing agent. The blends were prepared in a co-rotational twin-screw extruder and injection molded. Torque rheometry, Izod impact strength, tensile strength, heat deflection temperature (HDT), differential scanning calorimetry, thermogravimetry, and scanning electron microscopy properties were investigated. The results showed that there was an increase in the torque of PA6/ABS blends with SEBS addition. The PP/ABS/SEBS (60/25/15%) blend showed significant improvement in impact strength, elongation at break, thermal stability, and HDT compared with neat PP. The elastic modulus and tensile strength have not been significantly reduced. The degree of crystallinity and the crystalline melting temperature increased, indicating a nucleating effect of ABS. The PP/ABS blends compatibilized with 12.5% and 15% SEBS presented morphology with well-distributed fine ABS particles with good interfacial adhesion. As a result, thermal stability has been improved over pure PP and the mechanical properties have been increased, especially impact strength. In general, the addition of the SEBS copolymer as the PP/ABS blend compatibilizer has the advantage of refining the blend's morphology, increasing its toughness and thermal stability, without jeopardizing other PP properties. 相似文献

Variational autoencoders are deep generative models that have recently received a great deal of attention due to their ability to model the latent distribution of any kind of input such as images and audio signals, among others. A novel variational autoncoder in the quaternion domain , namely the QVAE, has been recently proposed, leveraging the augmented second order statics of -proper signals. In this paper, we analyze the QVAE under an information-theoretic perspective, studying the ability of the -proper model to approximate improper distributions as well as the built-in -proper ones and the loss of entropy due to the improperness of the input signal. We conduct experiments on a substantial set of quaternion signals, for each of which the QVAE shows the ability of modelling the input distribution, while learning the improperness and increasing the entropy of the latent space. The proposed analysis will prove that proper QVAEs can be employed with a good approximation even when the quaternion input data are improper. 相似文献
