A high resolution glow discharge mass spectrometer (GDMS VG 9000) has been used to analyze tungsten and molybdenum. Detection limits have been shown to be typically of the order of 1 ng/g or better in these matrices for integration times of 60 s per element. The problem of multi-item, single level, capacitated, dynamic lot-sizing with set-up times (CLSP with set-up times) is considered. The difficulty of the problem compared with its counterpart without set-up times is explained. A lower bound on the value of the objective function is calculated by Lagrangian relaxation with subgradient optimisation. During the process, attempts are made to get good feasible solutions (ie. upper bounds) through a smoothing heuristic, followed by a local search with a variable neighbourhood. Solutions found in this way are further optimised by solving a capacitated transshipment problem. The positron lifetime dependence on the annealing temperature has been studied for two transition metal-metalloid glasses (FeNi-based and Co-based). Small variations of the lifetime observed after annealing below crystallization temperature are attributed to elimination of the structural defects inherent in the as-quenched metallic glasses. More abrupt changes at higher temperatures are ascribed to crystallization processes which lead to polycrystalline phases. The aim of this study was to evaluate a flat rectangular (3 × 10 mm2) MRI compatible transducer operating at 5 MHz. The main task was to explore the feasibility of creating deep lesions in heart at a depth of at least 15 mm. The size of thermal necrosis in heart tissue was estimated as a function of power and time using a simulation model. The system was then tested in an excised lamb heart. In this study, we were able to create lesions of 15 mm deep with acoustic power of 6 W for an exposure of approximately 1 min. The contrast to noise ratio (CNR) between lesion and heart tissue was evaluated using fast spin echo (FSE). The CNR value was approximately 22 using T1 W FSE. Maximum CNR was achieved with repetition time (TR) between 300 and 800 ms. Using T2W FSE, the corresponding CNR was approximately 13 for the 14 in vivo experiments. The average lesion depth was 11.93 mm with a standard deviation of 0.62 mm. In vivo irradiation conditions were 6 W for 60 s. The size of the lesion in the other two dimensions was close to 3 × 10 mm2 (size of the transducer element). 相似文献

A new method for the consolidation of loose sand formations has been developed. The method involves in situ precipitation of a composite calcium phosphate-polyelectrolyte salt that binds together with loose sand grains, thus resulting to their consolidation. Three different polyelectrolytes (PE) were tested, i.e., polyacrylic acid (PAA), polyallylamine hydrochloride (PAH), and polyethylenimine (PEI). The effect of PE tested on the thermodynamics and the kinetics of precipitation of calcium phosphate salts was investigated. Three types of experiments were done. Investigation of the adsorption of PE on either hydroxyapatite (Ca(5)(PO(4))(3)OH, HAP) crystals or on sand grains. Measurement of the kinetics of heterogeneous nucleation of HAP on the solid substrates and the mechanical properties of the obtained crystals in batch experiments of low and high supersaturation solutions, respectively. Evaluation of the consolidation in sand packs in order to investigate the effectiveness of the method. The crystallization rates, R(p), on HAP crystals in the presence of the PE tested were found in the order R(p)(PAA)>R(p)(PEI)>R(p)(PAH), while nucleation and crystal growth on silicate sand took place only in the absence of adsorbed PE. PAH favored strongly the consolidation process, whereas PEI and PAA resulted in the formation of poorly consolidated grain agglomerates. 相似文献
