Spiroligomers are a class of peptidomimetics that connect interchangeable, stereochemically pure, cyclic monomers through pairs of amide bonds to form diketopiperazines between the monomers. This enables them to adopt predictable and programmable structure due to the rigidity of the final molecule. We present a new method for the solid phase synthesis of highly functionalized spiroligomers that incorporates the use of the p-nitrobenzyloxycarbonyl (pNZ) as a temporary amine protecting group and the pentafluorophenyl ester for monomer activation. This new method allows for the synthesis of spiroligomers with higher purity and increased yields when compared to previous methods. This improved method of synthesis of functionalized spiroligomers will facilitate the development of applications as catalysts, therapeutics and membrane channels.  相似文献

Achieving stability with highly active Ru nanoparticles for electrocatalysis is a major challenge for the oxygen evolution reaction. As improved stability of Ru catalysts has been shown for bulk surfaces with low‐index facets, there is an opportunity to incorporate these stable facets into Ru nanoparticles. Now, a new solution synthesis is presented in which hexagonal close‐packed structured Ru is grown on Au to form nanoparticles with 3D branches. Exposing low‐index facets on these 3D branches creates stable reaction kinetics to achieve high activity and the highest stability observed for Ru nanoparticle oxygen evolution reaction catalysts. These design principles provide a synthetic strategy to achieve stable and active electrocatalysts.  相似文献

The aperture angle α(x,Q) of a point x Q in the plane with respect to a convex polygon Q is the angle of the smallest cone with apex x that contains Q. The aperture angle approximation error of a compact convex set C in the plane with respect to an inscribed convex polygon QC is the minimum aperture angle of any xCQ with respect to Q. We show that for any compact convex set C in the plane and any k>2, there is an inscribed convex k-gon QC with aperture angle approximation error . This bound is optimal, and settles a conjecture by Fekete from the early 1990s. The same proof technique can be used to prove a conjecture by Brass: If a polygon P admits no approximation by a sub-k-gon (the convex hull of k vertices of P) with Hausdorff distance σ, but all subpolygons of P (the convex hull of some vertices of P) admit such an approximation, then P is a (k+1)-gon. This implies the following result: For any k>2 and any convex polygon P of perimeter at most 1 there is a sub-k-gon Q of P such that the Hausdorff-distance of P and Q is at most  . Microbial fuel cell (MFC) technology is a novel electricity generation process catalyzed by microorganisms. Much progress is made in the design and construction of MFCs, however the diversity of the electrochemically active microorganisms and the electricity generation mechanisms remain a black box. As sun is a predominantly unused energy resource, here we present a highly enriched phototrophic consortium that can produce electricity in an “H” typed MFC at a high power density (2650 mW m−2, normalized to membrane area) in light, which was eightfold of that produced by non-enriched consortium in the same reactor. Light–dark shift experiments showed that light contributed to the electricity generation. A microbial excreted mediator assisted the electron transfer to the electrode. During the experiment, the accumulation of the mediator over time enhanced the electron transfer rate. The excitation–emission matrix fluorescence spectroscopy results indicated indole group containing compound representing the dominant mediator component.  相似文献

Dialkyl heteroaroylphosphonates based on thiophene, pyrrole or furan have been prepared and their reactions with trimethyl phosphite investigated. Deoxygenation of the carbonyl groups in these heteroaroylphosphonates occurs to give carbene intermediates, which then undergo further reaction. In the case of the furan-3-oylphosphonates and those systems containing a thiophene or pyrrole ring, the major reaction pathway involves intermolecular trapping of the carbene intermediates by the trimethyl phosphite, leading to the formation of ylidic phosphonates that can be readily converted into the corresponding 1,1-bisphosphonates. However, in some furan-2-oylphosphonates the carbenes generated undergo ring-opening to initially give acyclic alkynylphosphonates which may react further to give other novel phosphorus compounds. The effects of substituents on the extent to which intermolecular trapping of the initially formed carbene competes with intramolecular rearrangement has been investigated. The latter process appears to be suppressed by a substituent at the 5-position of the furan ring, the resulting ylidic phosphonates being a rare example of an efficient intermolecular trapping of a furan-2-yl carbene.  相似文献

Mixtures of ionic liquid (IL, 1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium tetrafluoroborate, [BMIM][BF4]) and water with varying concentrations were studied by attenuated total reflection infrared absorption and Raman spectroscopy. Changes in the peak intensities and peak positions of CHx (x = 1, 2, 3) vibration modes of the cation of the IL and OH vibration modes of the water molecules were investigated. Peaks from normal-mode stretch vibrations of CH bonds belonging to the imidazolium ring of the cation did not change their positions, while those from the terminal methyl group of the butyl chain blueshifted by approximately 10 cm-1 with the addition of water. On the other hand, change in the spectral shape in the OH stretch vibration region shows hydrogen-bonding network of water molecules breaking down rapidly as the IL is added. Trends in the change of the peak positions and the peak intensities suggested qualitative change of the intermolecular structure in the [BMIM][BF4] + H2O mixture at 32 +/- 2 and 45 +/- 2 mol/L of water concentration.  相似文献
