Following a bottom-up approach to nanomaterials, we present a rational synthetic route to high-spin and anisotropic molecules based on hexacyanometalate [M(CN)(6)](3-) cores. Part 1 of this series was devoted to isotropic heptanuclear clusters; herein, we discuss the nuclearity and the structural anisotropy of nickel(II) derivatives. By changing either the stoichiometry, the nature of the terminal ligand, or the counterion, it is possible to tune the nuclearity of the polynuclear compounds and therefore to control the structural anisotropy. We present the synthesis and the characterisation by mass spectrometry, X-ray crystallography and magnetic susceptibility of bi-, tri-, tetra-, hexa- and heptanuclear species [M(CN)(n)(CN-M'L)(6-n)](m+) (with n=0-5; M=Cr(III), Co(III), M'=Ni(II); L=pentadentate ligand). Thus, with M=Cr(III), d(3), S=3/2, a dinuclear complex [Cr(III)(CN)(5)(CN-NiL(n))](9+), (L(n)=polydentate ligand) was built and characterised, showing a spin ground state, S(G)=5/2, with a ferromagnetic interaction J(Cr,Cu)=+18.5 cm(-1). With M=Co(III) (d(6), S=0) were built di-, tri-, tetra-, hexa and hepanuclear CoNi species: CoNi, CoNi(2), CoNi(3), CoNi(5) and CoNi(6). By a first approximation, they behave as one, two, three, five and six isolated nickel(II) complexes, respectively, but more accurate studies allow us to evaluate the weak antiferromagnetic coupling constant between two next-nearest neighbours M'-Co-M'.  相似文献

Alkaline Metal Arsenides A3As11 (A = Rb, Cs): Preparation and Crystal Structures Rb3As11 and Cs3As11 were synthesized from the elements and the crystal structures of the ordered room temperature form were characterized via single crystal x‐ray studies. In the Zintl phases the As atoms form chiral ufosan‐anions As with As‐As distances ranging from 238 to 248 pm. Like K3As11 Rb3As11 crystallizes with the Na3P11 structure type (orthorhombic, space group Pbcn, a = 1108.2(2), b = 1533.5(3), c = 1060.1(2) pm, Z = 4), whereas the Cs compound (monoclinic, space group C2/c, a = 1324.5(7), b = 1524.5(9), c = 1937.2(11) pm, β = 95.29(1)°, Z = 8) forms a new structure type. The crystallographic relationship between the two structure types and the anion packings in the plastic crystalline high temperature forms are discussed.  相似文献

Thin films of fumaramide [2]rotaxane, a mechanically interlocked molecule composed of a macrocycle and a thread in a "bead and thread" configuration, were prepared by vapor deposition on both Ag(111) and Au(111) substrates. X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) and high-resolution electron-energy-loss spectroscopy were used to characterize monolayer and bulklike multilayer films. XPS determination of the relative amounts of carbon, nitrogen, and oxygen indicates that the molecule adsorbs intact. On both metal surfaces, molecules in the first adsorbed layer show an additional component in the C 1s XPS line attributed to chemisorption via amide groups. Molecular-dynamics simulation indicates that the molecule orients two of its eight phenyl rings, one from the macrocycle and one from the thread, in a parallel bonding geometry with respect to the metal surfaces, leaving three amide groups very close to the substrate. In the case of fumaramide [2]rotaxane adsorption on Au(111), the presence of certain out-of-plane phenyl ring and Au-O vibrational modes points to such bonding and a preferential molecular orientation. The theoretical and experimental results imply that the three-dimensional intermolecular configuration permits chemisorption at low coverage to be driven by interactions between the three amide functions of fumaramide [2]rotaxane and the Ag(111) or Au(111) surface.  相似文献

The cationic lanthanide complexes of two neutral tripodal N,O ligands, tpa (tris[(2-pyridyl)methyl]amine) and tpaam (tris[6-((2-N,N-diethylcarbamoyl)pyridyl)methyl]amine) are studied in water. The analysis of the proton lanthanide induced NMR shifts indicate that there is no abrupt structural change in the middle of the rare-earth series. Unexpectedly, the formation constant values of the lanthanide podates of tpaam and tpa in D2O at 298 K are similar, suggesting that the addition of the three amide groups to the ligand tpa does not lead to any increase in stability of the lanthanide complexes of tpaam in respect to tpa, even though the amide groups are coordinated to the metal in aqueous solution. The measurement of the enthalpy and entropy changes of the complexation reactions shows that the two similar ligands tpa and tpaam have different driving forces for lanthanide complexation. Indeed, the formation of tpa podates benefits from an exothermic enthalpy change associated with a small entropy change, whereas the complexation reaction with tpaam is clearly entropy-driven though opposed by a positive enthalpy change. The hydration states of the europium complexes were measured by luminescence and show the coordination of 4-5 water ligands in [Eu(tpa)]3+ whereas there are only 2 in [Eu(tpaam)]3+. Therefore the heptadentate ligand tpaam releases the translational entropy of more water molecules than does the tetradentate ligand tpa.  相似文献

This study reports the chemical composition of five types of industrial frozen fruit pulps (acerola, cashew, grape, passion fruit and pineapple fruit pulps) and compares them with homemade pulps at two different stages of ripening. The fruit pulps were characterized by analyzing their metabolic profiles and determining their ethanol content using quantitative Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (qNMR). In addition, principal component analysis (PCA) was applied to extract more information from the NMR data. We detected ethanol in all industrial and homemade pulps; and acetic acid in cashew, grape and passion fruit industrial and homemade pulps. The ethanol content in some industrial pulps is above the level recommended by regulatory agencies and is near the levels of some post‐ripened homemade pulps. This study demonstrates that qNMR can be used to rapidly detect ethanol content in frozen fruit pulps and food derivatives. Copyright © 2015 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

This Minireview compares two distinct ink types, namely metal-organic decomposition (MOD) and nanoparticle (NP) formulations, for use in the printing of some of the most conductive elements: silver, copper and aluminium. Printing of highly conductive features has found purpose across a broad array of electronics and as processing times and temperatures reduce, the avenues of application expand to low-cost flexible substrates, materials for wearable devices and beyond. Printing techniques such as screen, aerosol jet and inkjet printing are scalable, solution-based processes that historically have employed NP formulations to achieve low resistivity coatings printed at high resolution. Since the turn of the century, the rise in MOD inks has vastly extended the range of potentially applicable compounds that can be printed, whilst simultaneously addressing shelf life and sintering issues. A brief introduction to the field and requirements of an ink will be presented followed by a detailed discussion of a wide array of synthetic routes to both MOD and NP inks. Unindustrialized materials will be discussed, with the challenges and outlook considered for the market leaders: silver and copper, in comparison with the emerging field of aluminium inks.  相似文献

This paper aims to review the various degradation pathays of emulsions. Aging of emulsions may proceed through three distinct microscopic mechanisms: diffusion or permeation, dewetting, and coalescence, each one being associated with a very characteristic growth scenario. Photopolymerization is a phenomenon that is the basis of much of today's microfabrication technology and intense research is conducted to improve its control and the characteristics of end products for a variety of applications. The design of microscopic structures often relies on the accurate knowledge and modeling of photopolymer's behavior upon exposure, i.e. the Dill parameters, for each radiation species of interest and therefore the development of flexible characterization techniques is of great importance. SU‐8 is a popular compound that is representative of a whole class that relies on cationic polymerization, where an acid is obtained via photolysis of an onium salt during exposure. Here we report on the observation of SbF6? via laser desorption mass spectrometry on SU‐8 exposed to UV light at the wavelength of 365 nm and demonstrate that the yield of this counter‐anion as a function of exposure is consistent with the Dill C parameter value available in the literature. © 2019 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
