Present acoustic imaging apparatuses give only a virtual image of the insonified object. Several studies have been conducted in order to pick up the information from such an image, such as holography and computer data processing. These techniques are very involved, and so simpler processing systems have been analysed in our laboratory in order to reconstruct a true image. Our first system used optical processing of the acoustic echo. In this paper, a second, acousto-electronic, system is described, which enables like the first the attainment of very high image rates in the B-scan mode. 相似文献

In novel switching approaches such as Optical Burst Switching, the involved buffers can only provide a degenerate waiting
room, with delays restricted to multiples of a basic value, the granularity. Although the resulting performance loss was already
studied analytically, previous work is either limited by the assumption of independent arrivals, or it involves a matrix with
size growing fast with buffer size or arrival process complexity.
Overcoming this, we developed a generic and accurate loss performance model for a degenerate GI/G/1 buffer in discrete time,
that yields results instantly for any constellation of burst sizes, inter-arrival times, granularity, load and buffer size.
This paper presents our model and compares its results to simulations, illustrating the impact of different types of correlation
in the arrival process on loss performance. Our basic model is general and accurate, it can thus serve as a basic tool for
optical switch design.

A critical component in the delivery of VBR streaming video over packet-based networks, is the playout buffer at the receiver
side. As packets will incur a variable delay within the network, a mechanism is needed to dejitter the stream and assure that
packets are played out at exactly the same rate at which they were generated by the sender.
Packet loss at the playout buffer can be induced by either underflow or overflow, and we first identify the general conditions
under which these events occur. These general rules require some knowledge on the network delay characteristics of an arbitrary
packet, and are then further developed and refined, by taking a closer look at the case where a single delay bottleneck exists
within the network.
This analysis allows us to derive useful design rules, where we consider two cases, depending on whether or not the receiver
has knowledge about the delay the first packet of the stream has incurred. We conclude by demonstrating that the traditional
playout paradigm can be enhanced to guard against large initial delays. 相似文献

We consider a discrete-time multiserver queueing system with infinite buffer size, constant service times of multiple slots
and a first-come-first-served queueing discipline. A relationship between the probability distributions of the partial system
contents and the packet delay is established. The relationship is general in the sense that it doesn’t require knowledge of the exact nature of the arrival process. By means of the relationship,
results for the distribution of the partial system contents for a wide variety of discrete-time queueing models can be transformed
into corresponding results for the delay distribution. As a result, a separate full analysis of the packet delay becomes unnecessary.

It consists of determining the impedance of the transducer cleared of the effects caused by finite dimensions of the substrate. Queueing models can be used to model and analyze the performance of various subsystems in telecommunication networks; for instance, to estimate the packet loss and packet delay in network routers. Since time is usually synchronized, discrete-time models come natural. We start this paper with a review of suitable discrete-time queueing models for communication systems. We pay special attention to two important characteristics of communication systems. First, traffic usually arrives in bursts, making the classic modeling of the arrival streams by Poisson processes inadequate and requiring the use of more advanced correlated arrival models. Second, different applications have different quality-of-service requirements (packet loss, packet delay, jitter, etc.). Consequently, the common first-come-first-served (FCFS) scheduling is not satisfactory and more elaborate scheduling disciplines are required. Both properties make common memoryless queueing models (M/M/1-type models) inadequate. After the review, we therefore concentrate on a discrete-time queueing analysis with two traffic classes, heterogeneous train arrivals and a priority scheduling discipline, as an example analysis where both time correlation and heterogeneity in the arrival process as well as non-FCFS scheduling are taken into account. This paper considers a discrete-time priority queueing model with one server and two types (classes) of customers. Class-1 customers have absolute (service) priority over class-2 customers. New customer batches enter the system at the rate of one batch per slot, according to a general independent arrival process, i.e., the batch sizes (total numbers of arrivals) during consecutive time slots are i.i.d. random variables with arbitrary distribution. All customers entering the system during the same time slot (i.e., belonging to the same arrival batch) are of the same type, but customer types may change from slot to slot, i.e., from batch to batch. Specifically, the types of consecutive customer batches are correlated in a Markovian way, i.e., the probability that any batch of customers has type 1 or 2, respectively, depends on the type of the previous customer batch that has entered the system. Such an arrival model allows to vary not only the relative loads of both customer types in the arrival stream, but also the amount of correlation between the types of consecutive arrival batches. The results reveal that the amount of delay differentiation between the two customer classes that can be achieved by the priority mechanism strongly depends on the amount of such interclass correlation (or, class clustering) in the arrival stream. The Raman spectra of (1 − x)(BMITFSI), xLiTFSI ionic liquids, where 1‐butyl‐3‐methylimidazolium cation (BMI+) and bis(trifluoromethane‐sulfonyl)imide anion (TFSI−) are analyzed for LiTFSI mole fractions x < 0.4. As expected from previous studies on similar TFSI‐based systems, most lithium ions are shown to be coordinated within [Li(TFSI)2]− anionic clusters. The variation of the self‐diffusion coefficients of the 1H, 19F, and 7Li nuclei, measured by pulsed‐gradient spin‐echo NMR (PGSE‐NMR) as a function of x, can be rationalized in terms of the weighted contribution of BMI+ cations, TFSI− ‘free’ anions, and [Li(TFSI)2]− anionic clusters.
