Exchanging light pulses to perform accurate space-time positioning is a paradigmatic issue of physics. It is ultimately limited by the quantum nature of light, which introduces fluctuations in the optical measurements and leads to the so-called standard quantum limit (SQL). We propose a new scheme combining homodyne detection and mode-locked femtosecond lasers that lead to a new SQL in time transfer, potentially reaching the yoctosecond range (10(-21)-10(-24) s). We demonstrate that this already very low SQL can be overcome using appropriately multimode squeezed light. Benefitting from the large number of photons and from the optimal choice of both the detection strategy and of the quantum resource, the proposed scheme represents a significant potential improvement in space-time positioning. 相似文献

However, the group velocity is the derivative of omega with respect to the wavenumber, while the behavior of the beam should depend on omega only. Momentum transfer in a vertical liquid jet contactor consisting of an ejector supported in a vertical column has been studied, using three different liquids as motive fluids, and air as the entrained gas.On the basis of macroscopic momentum and energy balance, an overall loss factor is derived. Moreover, an empirical correlation is proposed to predict the mass flow rate of entrainment by the liquid jet system. Thin films of yttria-stabilized zirconia (YSZ) electrolyte were prepared by atomic layer deposition at 300 °C for solid oxide fuel cell (SOFC) applications. YSZ samples of 300-1000 nm thickness were deposited onto La0.8Sr0.2MnO3 (LSM) cathodes. A microstructural study was performed on these samples and their electrical properties were characterised between 100 and 390 °C by impedance spectroscopy. A remarkable feature is that the as-deposited layers were already crystalline without any annealing treatment. Their resistance decreased when reducing the layer thickness; nevertheless, their conductivity and activation energy were significantly lower than those reported in the literature for bulk YSZ. 相似文献

In this work, we use an approach due to Favard (Acta Math 51:31–81, 1928) to study the existence of weakly almost periodic and almost automorphic solutions for some evolution equation whose linear part generates a \(C_{0}\)-group satisfying the Favard condition in uniformly convex Banach spaces. We establish a Bochner type characterization for Stepanov almost periodic functions, and we prove a new result about the integration of almost periodic functions. This result is then used together with a reduction principle to investigate the nature of bounded solutions of some almost periodic partial neutral functional differential equations. In the present article, we study the temperature effects on two‐phase immiscible incompressible flow through a porous medium. The mathematical model is given by a coupled system of 2‐phase flow equations and an energy balance equation. The model consists of the usual equations derived from the mass conservation of both fluids along with the Darcy‐Muskat and the capillary pressure laws. The problem is written in terms of the phase formulation; ie, the saturation of one phase, the pressure of the second phase, and the temperature are primary unknowns. The major difficulties related to this model are in the nonlinear degenerate structure of the equations, as well as in the coupling in the system. Under some realistic assumptions on the data, we show the existence of weak solutions with the help of an appropriate regularization and a time discretization. We use suitable test functions to obtain a priori estimates. We prove a new compactness result to pass to the limit in nonlinear terms. 相似文献
