We discuss the prospects of studying lepton number violating processes in order to identify Majorana neutrinos from low scale seesaw mechanisms at lepton-proton colliders. In particular, we consider the scenarios of colliding electrons with LHC energy protons and, motivated by the efforts towards the construction of a muon collider, the prospects of muon-proton collisions. We find that present constraints on the mixing of the Majorana neutrinos still allow for a detectable signal at these kind of facilities given the smallness of the Standard Model background. We discuss possible cuts in order to further increase the signal over background ratio and the prospects of reconstructing the neutrino mass from the kinematics of the final state particles.  相似文献

In this work, the question of homogenizing linear elastic, heterogeneous materials with periodic microstructures in the case of non-separated scales is addressed. A framework if proposed, where the notion of mesoscopic strain and stress fields are defined by appropriate integral operators which act as low-pass filters on the fine scale fluctuations. The present theory extends the classical linear homogenization by substituting averaging operators by integral operators, and localization tensors by nonlocal operators involving appropriate Green functions. As a result, the obtained constitutive relationship at the mesoscale appears to be nonlocal. Compared to nonlocal elastic models introduced from a phenomenological point of view, the nonlocal behavior has been fully derived from the study of the microstructure. A discrete version of the theory is presented, where the mesoscopic strain field is approximated as a linear combination of basis functions. It allows computing the mesoscopic nonlocal operator by means of a finite number of transformation tensors, which can be computed numerically on the unit cell.  相似文献

The enantiodifferentiation observed in the complexation of cizolirtine and its parent carbinol with g -cyclodextrin is due to differences in the average structure of each diastereomeric complex, as deduced from molecular dynamics simulations. Bimodal complexation is possible for all these molecules; both computations and experiments indicate the inclusion of the phenyl group. Two distinct inclusion orientations of this group were considered; although the preferred orientation was determined, the other one may contribute to the final average structure depending on the enantiomeric guest molecule.  相似文献

Many techniques have been developed in order to obtain spectral density function from randomly sampled data, such as the computation of a slotted autocovariance function. Nevertheless, one may be interested in obtaining more information from laser Doppler signals than a spectral content, using more or less complex computations that can be easily conducted with an evenly sampled signal. That is the reason why reconstructing an evenly sampled signal from the original LDV data is of interest. The ability of a wavelet-based technique to reconstruct the signal with respect to statistical properties of the original one is explored, and spectral content of the reconstructed signal is given and compared with estimated spectral density function obtained through classical slotting technique. Furthermore, LDV signals taken from a screeching jet are reconstructed in order to perform spectral and bispectral analysis, showing the ability of the technique in recovering accurate information’s with only few LDV samples.  相似文献

In this paper we provide a complete and irreducible representation for transversely isotropic sixth order tensors having minor symmetries. Such tensors appear in some practical problems of elasticity for which their inversion is required. For this kind of tensors, we provide an irreducible basis which possesses some remarkable properties, allowing us to provide a representation in a compact form which uses two scalars and three matrices of dimension 2, 3 and 4. It is shown that the calculation of sum, product and inverse of transversely isotropic sixth order tensors is greatly simplified by using this new formalism and appears to be appropriate for deriving new various solutions to some practical problems in mechanics which use such kinds of higher order tensors. For instance, we derive the fields within a cylindrical inhomogeneity submitted to remote gradient of strain. The method of resolution uses the Eshelby equivalent inclusion method extended to the case of a polynomial type eigenstrain. It is shown that the approach leads to a linear system involving a sixth order tensor whose closed form solution is derived by means of the tensorial formalism introduced in the first part of the paper.  相似文献

A micromechanics-based approach for the derivation of the effective properties of periodic linear elastic composites which exhibit strain gradient effects at the macroscopic level is presented. At the local scale, all phases of the composite obey the classic equations of three-dimensional elasticity, but, since the assumption of strict separation of scales is not verified, the macroscopic behavior is described by the equations of strain gradient elasticity. The methodology uses the series expansions at the local scale, for which higher-order terms, (which are generally neglected in standard homogenization framework) are kept, in order to take into account the microstructural effects. An energy based micro–macro transition is then proposed for upscaling and constitutes, in fact, a generalization of the Hill–Mandel lemma to the case of higher-order homogenization problems. The constitutive relations and the definitions for higher-order elasticity tensors are retrieved by means of the “state law” associated to the derived macroscopic potential. As an illustration purpose, we derive the closed-form expressions for the components of the gradient elasticity tensors in the particular case of a stratified periodic composite. For handling the problems with an arbitrary microstructure, a FFT-based computational iterative scheme is proposed in the last part of the paper. Its efficiency is shown in the particular case of composites reinforced by long fibers.  相似文献

A new cyclodecapeptide incorporating two prolylglycine sequences as β‐turn inducers and bearing four side chains with acidic carboxyl groups for cation complexation has been prepared. Structural analysis in water by 1H NMR spectroscopy and CD shows that this template adopts a conformation suitable for the complexation of lanthanide ions Ln3+, with its carboxyl groups oriented on the same face of the peptide scaffold. Luminescence titrations show that mononuclear Ln–PA complexes are formed with apparent stability constants of log β110≈6.5 (pH 7). The high‐field water relaxivity values arising from the Gd–PA complex at 200–500 MHz have been interpreted with molecular parameters determined independently. The experimentally determined water relaxivities are undoubtedly 30 % higher than the expected values for this complex with two inner‐sphere (IS) water molecules and a medium‐range rotational correlation time (τR=386 ps (±10 %)). This led us to propose the existence of a large second‐sphere (2S) contribution to the relaxivity caused by the interaction of water molecules with the hydrophilic peptide ligand by hydrogen‐bonding.  相似文献
