A note on the conformal quasi-invariance of the Laplacian on a pseudo-Riemannian manifold

We consider the Laplacian on a pseudo-Riemannian manifold with constant scalar curvature (e.g. Euclidian space with an arbitrary signed inner product or its conformal compactification and coverings of this) and show that for this minus a constant we have quasi-invariance with respect to an action of the conformal group on functions.     

On the directional dependence of Bose-Einstein correlations

A simple method to measure the shape of the particle emission region in high energy particle collisions by interferometry is discussed. Results from an application to data on inelasticpp scattering are compared with results based on determinations of the radial extension of the source. Both show that in the c.m.s., the source is elongated in the beam direction.     

The vibration-rotation spectrum of methinophosphide: The overtone bands 2ν1 and 2ν3, the summation bands ν1 + ν2 and ν2 + ν3, and the difference band ν1 - ν2

The vibration-rotation bands 2ν₁, 2ν₃, ν₁ + ν₂, ν₂ + ν₃, and ν₁ - ν₂ of H¹²CP were recorded and analyzed. These data were combined with previously reported results for this molecule to obtain an improved and extended set of vibrational and rotational constants. All x_ij and γ_ij were calculated except those that require data from a summation band involving ν₁ and ν₃.     

Photofission in238U,232Th and209Bi at intermediate energy

Fragment energy correlation measurements have been made for²³⁸U,²³²Th and²⁰⁹Bi with bremsstrahlung of 600 MeV maximum energy. The study was performed with silicon surface barrier detectors. Distributions of kinetic energy as a function of fragment mass are presented. The results are compared with earlier photofission data and, in the case of bismuth, with calculations based on the liquid drop model.     

Vapour-liquid equilibrium data for the systems C2H6 + N2, C2H4 + N2, C3H8 + N2, and C3H6 + N2

High pressure vapour-liquid equilibrium data for the C₂H₆ + N₂, C₂H₄ + N₂, C₃H₈ + N₂, and C₃H₆ + N₂ systems are presented. The data are obtained isothermally in the range from 200 K to 290 K. For each point of data, temperature, pressure and liquid and vapour phase mole fractions are measured.Values for the vapour phase mole fractions are calculated from the obtained pressure, temperature and liquid phase mole fractions. The calculated values are compared with the experimental results, and it is found that the average mean deviation between calculated and experimental mole fractions is less than 0.009 for the systems considered in this work.     

The limiting nuclear target fragmentation and the thermodynamical model

The fragmentation of nuclear targets is considered in the frame of the thermodynamical model. The scaling properties of experimental data concerning backward particles are described.
