Büttiker and Landauer studied scattering off an oscillating rectangular barrier in order to shed light on the time aspects of tunneling. The expression for the traversal time resulting from this study is controversial. In addition, doubts have recently been expressed on technical aspects of their work. In an attempt to clarify these issues, we investigate a generalization of their model to arbitrary oscillating barriers,V(x, t)=V 0(x)+V 1(x)cos t. In the process, we confirm that Büttiker and Landauer's work is technically sound. However, we show, by several examples, that no direct general relation exists between the characteristic frequency of an oscillating barrier and the duration of the tunneling process. For a wide range of realistic parameters this characteristic frequency does not even exist.This paper is dedicated to E. G. D. Cohen.  相似文献

The ligand, salicylaldehyde Girard-T hydrazonium chloride, [H2SalGT]Cl (1), and two complexes [Cu(HSalGT)X2]·H2O (X = Br(2); Cl(3)) were synthesized and their crystal structures were determined by single-crystal X-ray analysis. In the two isostructural complexes, the Cu(II) is located in a square-pyramidal environment, with the chelating ligand and one halogen atom in the basal plane and the second halogen in the apical position. The most apparent structural difference between the 1 and its complexes 2 and 3 is the orientation of the N(CH3)3 group: in 1, it is practically coplanar to the rest of the molecule, while in 2 and 3 it is oriented to the side of the axially bonded halogen, which can be explained by the C–H…X intramolecular interactions. The compounds were characterized by elemental analysis, molar conductivity, magnetic susceptibility and electronic absorption spectra.  相似文献

A Contribution on Ternary Oxides of the AMO4-Type (A = Ti3+, Cr3+; M = Nb5+, Ta5+ ) CrNbO4, CrTaO4, TiNbO4, and TiTaO4 were prepared by CO2-laser technique. X-ray single crystal investigations show a random distribution of the metal ions in Rutil type structure, space group D–P42/mnm. Calculations of the free energy of reaction between Ti2O3 and Nb2O5 show higher stability of TiO2 beside NbO2. In TiNbO4 both metals exhibit the oxidation state +4.  相似文献

The potential approaches for third-party assessment of reference material producers are revisited and the activities of the Reference Materials (RM) Unit of the Institute for Reference Materials and Measurements (IRMM) to obtain accreditation to ISO Guide 34 and ISO 17025 are described. Accreditation was related to the Unit as all matrix RM activities of the institute are concentrated there. A management system was established that allows sufficient flexibility to be applicable to a wide range of RMs while being precise enough to ensure compliance with ISO Guides 30, 31 and especially 34 and 35. Accreditation was achieved in 2004 with independent scopes for testing and RM production and was confirmed and extended in 2005. 1,2-Dithiolylium salts are thermolysed in the ion source of a mass spectrometer; some salts (group I) undergo thermolysis to give a stable dithiolyl radical where subsequent ionization gives rise to a mass spectrum in which the parent ion corresponds to the dithiolyl ion. The radical may be stabilized before ionization by expulsion of a hydrogen atom to form a neutral dithiole derivative, and then mass spectra exhibit abundant molecular ions corresponding to such dithiole derivatives.Other salts (group II) may expel a proton with formation of a carbene and subsequent dimerization to a tetrathiafulvalene.The thermolytic behaviour of 1,2-dithiolylium salts is compared with their electrochemical behaviour and several analogies are found.  相似文献

The Ho0.5Sr0.5MnO3 perovskite, synthesized in air, has been studied by combining neutron powder and electron diffraction techniques. The Pnma-type structure exhibits a strong tilting of the MnO6 octahedra. This octahedra tilting and microtwinning involve a complex strained structure. No structural transition is observed down to 1.4 K, but short-range A-type antiferromagnetism running over only a few perovskite subcells is evidenced below ≈90 K. The different behavior of this perovskite compared to other Ln0.5Sr0.5MnO3 perovskites is discussed in terms of A-site cationic mismatch.  相似文献

We have chemically prepared a sample of antiferromagnetic alpha-Fe2O3 nanoparticles by a gel-sol technique. M?ssbauer spectra of the as-prepared sample showed that superparamagnetic relaxation was suppressed due to strong magnetic interparticle interactions even at room temperature. However, subsequent grinding of the sample by hand in a mortar for some minutes resulted in fast superparamagnetic relaxation of some of the particles. The effect was even more dramatic if the alpha-Fe2O3 powder was ground for a longer time or together with nonmagnetic eta-Al2O3 nanoparticles. Similar effects were found after low-energy ball milling. Thus it is found that the agglomeration of the nanoparticles during preparation under wet conditions results in strong magnetic interparticle interaction, but a relatively gentle mechanical treatment is sufficient to break up the agglomerates, resulting in much weaker interactions. We show that these effects can also be seen when a soil sample containing magnetic nanoparticles is ground.  相似文献
