Air monitoring networks are necessary to assess air quality in order to reduce pollution to levels which minimize harmful effects on human health and the environment. This paper describes a method to design or optimize air quality monitoring networks for nitrogen dioxide and ozone and its application in Malaga, a medium large city located in Andalusia, southern Spain, with traffic being the main source of air pollution. The completion of this method revealed that the old assessment network in Malaga was badly designed and made it possible to determine that one traffic-orientated and one background control station were necessary for NO2 assessment in Malaga, as well as two control stations for O3. First the number of stations necessary is obtained from historical data. Sampling campaigns with passive diffusion samplers at 74 sites were then carried out to obtain information on the pollution distribution in Malaga. The average concentrations found for NO2 and O3 were 22.8 μg/m3 and 64.3 μg/m3 respectively. Maximum values of up to 42.2 μg/m3 NO2 were found in Malaga city centre and O3 reached 91.5 μg/m3 downwind from the emission source. After spatial interpolation of the obtained values with Geographical Information Systems, a selection of the best locations for the monitoring stations was made, in line with the macro- and microscale siting requirements of the European Directive 2008/50/EC on ambient air quality and cleaner air for Europe.  相似文献

In the near future BabyIAXO will be the most powerful axion helioscope, relying on a custom-made magnet of two bores of 70 cm diameter and 10 m long, with a total available magnetic volume of more than 7 m3. In this document, it proposes and describe the implementation of low-frequency axion haloscope setups suitable for operation inside the BabyIAXO magnet. The RADES proposal has a potential sensitivity to the axion-photon coupling g a γ $g_{a\gamma }$ down to values corresponding to the KSVZ model, in the (currently unexplored) mass range between 1 and 2 μ $\umu$ eV, after a total effective exposure of 440 days. This mass range is covered by the use of four differently dimensioned 5-meter-long cavities, equipped with a tuning mechanism based on inner turning plates. A setup like the one proposed will also allow an exploration of the same mass range for hidden photons coupled to photons. An additional complementary apparatus is proposed using LC circuits and exploring the low energy range ( 10 4 10 1 μ $\approx \ 10^{-4}-10^{-1} \ \umu$ eV). The setup includes a cryostat and cooling system to cool down the BabyIAXO bore down to about 5 K, as well as an appropriate low-noise signal amplification and detection chain.  相似文献

A novel approach to diversely functionalized spirocyclic oxindoles has been developed by using different metal-mediated carbonyl-addition/cyclization reaction sequences. Spirocyclization precursors, 2-indolinone-tethered homoallylic alcohols, (buta-1,3-dien-2-yl)methanols, and alpha-allenols have been obtained by regioselective addition of stabilized organoindium reagents to isatins in aqueous environment. Ruthenium-, silver-, and palladium-catalyzed reactions of the above unsaturated alcohol derivatives provided oxaspiro oxindoles.  相似文献

The assessment of air quality is necessary in order to control and reduce pollution to levels which minimise harmful effects on human health and the environment. This paper describes a method to design air quality monitoring networks for nitrogen dioxide and ozone and its application in Jaen (southern Spain). A fibre-glass filter impregnated with triethanolamine was used in diffusive sampling badges for NO2 determination. For O3 analysis, sodium nitrite was selected and nitrate, a product of the reaction of ozone and nitrite, was used to assess the ozone concentrations. Sampling campaigns with passive diffusion samplers at 62 sites were then carried out to obtain information on the pollution emissions in Jaen. The sampling campaigns in 2001–2002 revealed an average concentration of 10.4 μg/m3 NO2 with maximum values up to 22.5 μg/m3 in Jaen City centre. The average ozone concentrations were recorded downwind from the emission source, reaching 96.2 μg/m3; the average ozone value in Jaen was 72.0 μg/m3. After spatial interpolation of the obtained values with Geographical Information Systems, a selection of the best locations for the monitoring stations was made, in line with the macro- and microscale siting requirements of the European Directive 2008/50/EC on ambient air quality and cleaner air for Europe. A second sampling campaign with diffusive samplers was carried out in 2005–2006 to control if the locations of the air quality assessment stations were still representative for their zone.  相似文献

Magnetically induced catalysis can be promoted taking advantage of optimal heating properties from the magnetic nanoparticles to be employed. However, when unprotected, these heating agents that are usually air‐sensitive, get sintered under the harsh catalytic conditions. In this context, we present, to the best of our knowledge, the first example of air‐stable magnetic nanoparticles that: 1) show excellent performance as heating agents in the CO2 methanation catalyzed by Ni/SiRAlOx, with CH4 yields above 95 %, and 2) do not sinter under reaction conditions. To attain both characteristics we demonstrate, first the exchange‐coupled magnetic approach as an alternative and effective way to tune the magnetic response and heating efficiency, and second, the chemical stability of cuboctahedron‐shaped core–shell hard CoFe2O4–soft Fe3O4 nanoparticles.  相似文献

The use of urea as a precipitating agent in the synthesis of Ni-Al and Zn-Al layered double hydroxides having a hydrotalcite-like structure via a microwave-hydrothermal method is reported. For comparison purposes, the samples were also prepared by a conventional hydrothermal method. Ni-Al compounds with the hydrotalcite-like structure were obtained in shorter periods of time by the microwave method than by the conventional method, whereas when zinc cations were involved, no successful synthesis was achieved regardless of the method used. In order to find the best synthesis conditions for the Ni-Al solids, samples were submitted to microwave-hydrothermal treatment at different temperatures for increasing periods of time, and the structural, thermal, and textural properties of the synthesized materials were evaluated. All of the solids were fully characterized by chemical elemental analysis, powder X-ray diffraction (PXRD), FT-IR spectroscopy, and transmission and scanning electron microscopy as well as by N 2 adsorption/desorption at -196 degrees C for assessment of specific surface area and porosity. The PXRD patterns showed that the layered structure appeared after merely 10 min when the synthesis was carried out at 125 degrees C; however, the FT-IR spectra showed the presence of some cyanate groups that were formed during urea hydrolysis and were quite difficult to remove completely. When the conventional hydrothermal treatment was used, longer periods of time were required in order to develop the hydrotalcite-like structure, but increasing the aging time improved the crystallinity of the compounds and yielded large particles.  相似文献
