Herein, the design, synthesis, and characterization of a phenhomazine ligand are described. The ligand has six pendant acetate arms designed for the combined coordination of copper(II) and lanthanide(III) ions, with the perspective of developing a “turn-off” copper sensor. The key step for the ligand preparation was the one-step endomethylene bridge fission of a diamino Tröger's base with a concomitant alkylation. Fluorescence and absorption spectroscopies as well as nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) experiments were performed to analyze and understand the coordination properties of the ligand. Transition metal coordination was driven by the synergistic effect of the free nitrogen atoms of the diazocinic core and the two central acetate arms attached to those nitrogen atoms, whereas lanthanide coordination is performed by the external acetate arms, presumably forming a self-assembled 2:2 metallosupramolecular structure. The terbium complex shows the typical green emission with narrow bands and long luminescence lifetimes. The luminescence quenching produced by the presence of copper(II) ions was analyzed. This work sets, therefore, a starting point for the development of a phenhomazine-based “turn-off” copper(II) sensor.  相似文献

This study describes the preparation and characterization of nanofibrous mats obtained by electrospinning poly(ethylene terephthalate) (PET) solutions in trifluoroacetic acid/dichloromethane (TFA/DCM). Special attention was paid to the effect of polymer concentration and solvent properties on the morphology, structure, and mechanical and thermal properties of the electrospun nonwovens. The results show that the spinnable concentration of PET solution in TFA/DCM solvents is above 10 wt %. Mats have nanofibrous morphology with fibers having an average diameter in the range of 200–700 nm (depending on polymer concentration and solvent composition) and an interconnected pore structure. Higher solution concentration favors the formation of uniform fibers without beads and with higher diameter. Morphology and fiber assembly changed with the solvent properties. Solvent mixtures rich in TFA, i.e., those with higher dielectric constant and lower surface tension, originated fibers with small diameter. However, due to the lower volatility, those solvent mixtures also produced more branched and crosslinking fibers, with less morphologic uniformity. Mechanical properties (Young's modulus, ultimate strength, and elongation at break) and thermal properties (glass transition, crystallization, and melting) have been studied for the PET electrospun nanomats and compared with those of the original polymer. Solvent effect on fiber crystallinity was not significant, but a complex effect was observed on the mechanical properties of the electrospun mats, as a consequence of the different structural organization of the fibers within the mat network. © 2008 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. The use of classical Werner-type cis-[Co(Cl)2(tetraamine)]+ (tetraamine = cyclen or tren) complexes for their complexation study of biologically relevant ligands has been pursued. These chlorocomplexes are found to be in the chloroaqua/chlorohydroxo forms under the physiological conditions used, their chloride substitution reactivity being dominated by conjugate base pathways, specially when tetraamine = cyclen. Further studies with nucleotides indicate that the substitution processes on cis-[Co(H2O)2(tetraamine)]3+, up to neutral pH, correspond to a simple reaction producing final stable phosphato bound mononucleotide complexes. These complexes are found to be an equilibrium mixture between monodentate O-phosphato and chelate O-phosphato-N-nucleotide forms. No evidence has been found for hydrolytic cleavage of the phosphato-nucleoside bond, as found in other systems with activated phosphates or higher pH values. A full kinetic profile of the process is proposed for the systems in the 2–7 pH range which is the same for chloride, nucleoside and nucleotide substitutions. The results are indicative of an important degree of outer-sphere hydrogen bonding between the cobaltocomplex and the entering biologically relevant ligands, as expected for these processes.  相似文献

This paper describes an original one-pot way to synthesize nine new halogenated aminoquinoline derivatives using reactions conducted by niobium pentachloride. Subsequently, we describe an efficient and selective reduction reaction of nitroquinolines using niobium pentachloride and zinc, producing important compounds in the organic synthesis.The results showed that it is an important tool to synthesize these compounds, besides being time- and resources-saving and generating good yields. Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, or Lou Gehrig's disease, is characterized by motor neuron death, with average survival times of two to five years. One cause of this disease is the misfolding of superoxide dismutase 1 (SOD1), a phenomenon influenced by point mutations spanning the protein. Herein, we used an epitope‐specific high‐throughput screen to identify a peptide ligand that stabilizes the SOD1 native conformation and accelerates its folding by a factor of 2.5. This strategy may be useful for fundamental studies of protein energy landscapes as well as designing new classes of therapeutics.  相似文献

In situ and operando spectroscopic and microscopic methods were used to gain insight into the correlation between the structure, chemical state, and reactivity of size‐ and shape‐controlled ligand‐free Cu nanocubes during CO2 electroreduction (CO2RR). Dynamic changes in the morphology and composition of Cu cubes supported on carbon were monitored under potential control through electrochemical atomic force microscopy, X‐ray absorption fine‐structure spectroscopy and X‐ray photoelectron spectroscopy. Under reaction conditions, the roughening of the nanocube surface, disappearance of the (100) facets, formation of pores, loss of Cu and reduction of CuOx species observed were found to lead to a suppression of the selectivity for multi‐carbon products (i.e. C2H4 and ethanol) versus CH4. A comparison with Cu cubes supported on Cu foils revealed an enhanced morphological stability and persistence of CuI species under CO2RR in the former samples. Both factors are held responsible for the higher C2/C1 product ratio observed for the Cu cubes/Cu as compared to Cu cubes/C. Our findings highlight the importance of the structure of the active nanocatalyst but also its interaction with the underlying substrate in CO2RR selectivity.  相似文献

This paper proposes an analytical method to determine directly and simultaneously five phenolic compounds (4-nitrophenol, 2-nitrophenol, phenol, 2,4,6-trichlorophenol and 4-chlorophenol) in sea water (Ria de Bahía Blanca, Argentine). The advantages of this method is that only requires spectrophotometric measurements (separation steps and derivatization reagents are avoided) and chemometric modelling (PLS and MLR–SPA).The statistical comparison between PLS — a well established multivariate method — and MLR–SPA — a recently presented chemometric modelling — demonstrated better analytical performance for the later one. This fact is indicative of the potentiality of MLR–SPA for solving complex analytical problems.  相似文献

[structure: see text] In this article we describe the selective O-benzylation of para-unsubstituted calix[6]arene 1 in rings 1 and 4 (2a-c) and the subsequent alkylation of phenol groups with alpha-haloesters (methyl esters 3a, 3c, and 3e; tert-butyl esters 3b, 3d, and 3f) to determine the effect of these groups on their conformational behavior. 2D NMR studies at 188 K reveal that compounds 2a-c, 3b, 3d, and 3f are less flexible, showing a 1,2,3-alternate conformation.
