The synthesis, characterization and biological profile (antioxidant capacity, interaction with calf-thymus DNA and serum albumins) of five neutral copper(II) complexes of 5–fluoro–salicylaldehyde in the absence or presence of the N,N’–donor co–ligands 2,2′–bipyridylamine, 2,9–dimethyl–1,10–phenanthroline, 1,10–phenanthroline and 2,2′–bipyridine are presented herein. The compounds were characterized by physicochemical and spectroscopic techniques. The crystal structures of four complexes were determined by single-crystal X-ray crystallography. The ability of the complexes to scavenge 1,1–diphenyl–picrylhydrazyl and 2,2′–azinobis(3–ethylbenzothiazoline–6–sulfonic acid) radicals and to reduce H2O2 was investigated in order to evaluate their antioxidant activity. The interaction of the compounds with calf-thymus DNA possibly takes place via intercalation as suggested by UV–vis spectroscopy and DNA–viscosity titration studies and via competitive studies with ethidium bromide. The affinity of the complexes with bovine and human serum albumins was examined by fluorescence emission spectroscopy revealing the tight and reversible binding of the complexes with the albumins.  相似文献

The development of a faradic impedimetric immunosensor based on electropolymerized polytyramine (Ptyr) films for the detection of S. typhimurium in milk is described for the first time. Polyclonal anti-Salmonella was cross-linked, in the presence of glutaraldehyde vapors, on Ptyr-modified gold electrodes. The dielectric behaviour of Ptyr films was evaluated with capacitance measurements, while their stability in neutral aqueous solutions was examined with impedimetric measurements. The effect of the concentration of tyramine in the forming solution on both the sensitivity and the dynamic range of the resulted immunosensors was also investigated. The alteration of the interfacial features of the electrodes due to different modification or recognition steps, was measured by faradic electrochemical impedance spectroscopy in the presence of a hexacyanoferrate(II)/(III) redox couple. At samples containing a low initial concentration of 10 cfu mL−1S. typhimurium, that actually defines the LOD of the immunosensors, signal changes of 33% and 88% were achieved after 3 and 10 h incubation, respectively. To achieve the working simplicity expected by a biosensor, immunoreaction was performed directly in cultures. This resulted in the elimination of various centrifugation and washing steps, which are used for the isolation of bacteria cells from the culture, thus making the proposed immunosensors promising candidates for on-site applications. Finally, the proposed immunosensors were successfully used for the detection of S. typhimurium in experimentally inoculated milk samples.  相似文献

We study the notion of recurrence and some of its variations for linear operators acting on Banach spaces. We characterize recurrence for several classes of linear operators such as weighted shifts, composition operators and multiplication operators on classical Banach spaces. We show that on separable complex Hilbert spaces the study of recurrent operators reduces, in many cases, to the study of unitary operators. Finally, we study the notion of product recurrence and state some relevant open questions.  相似文献

An incompressible smoothed particle hydrodynamics (ISPH) method is developed for the modeling of multiphase Newtonian and inelastic non-Newtonian flows at low density ratios. This new method is the multiphase extension of Xenakis et al, J. Non-Newtonian Fluid Mech., 218, 1-15, which has been shown to be stable and accurate, with a virtually noise-free pressure field for single-phase non-Newtonian flows. For the validation of the method a semi-analytical solution of a two-phase Newtonian/non-Newtonian (inelastic) Poiseuille flow is derived. The developed method is also compared with the benchmark multiphase case of the Rayleigh Taylor instability and a submarine landslide, thereby demonstrating capability in both Newtonian/Newtonian and Newtonian/non-Newtonian two-phase applications. Comparisons with analytical solutions, experimental and previously published results are conducted and show that the proposed methodology can accurately predict the free-surface and interface profiles of complex incompressible multi-phase flows at low-density ratios relevant, for example, to geophysical environmental applications.  相似文献

In this paper, the effect of shear on the flow-induced crystallization (FIC) of several polypropylenes of various macrostructures was studied using rheometry combined with polarized microscopy. Generally, an increase in strain and strain rate or decrease of temperature is found to decrease the thermodynamic barrier for crystal formation and thus enhancing crystallization kinetics at temperatures between the melting and crystallization points. Secondly, popular models based on suspension theory which are used to relate the degree of crystallinity to normalized rheological functions (such as viscosity) are validated experimentally. For this purpose, the space filling of crystals in the polarized micrographs determined from image processing was plotted as a function of normalized viscosity under various shear rates. It is found that the constant(s) of various suspension models should be dependent on the flow parameters in order for the suspension models to describe the effect of shear on FIC, particularly at higher shear rates.  相似文献

The purpose of this study, is to compare the sequences: 1) proton density (PD) BLADE (BLADE is a PROPELLER-equivalent implementation of the Siemens Medical System) with fat saturation (FS) coronal (COR), 2) PD FS COR, 3) multi-planar reconstruction (MPR) with 3 mm slice thickness and 4) multi-planar reconstruction (MPR) with 1.5 mm slice thickness, both from the T2 3D-double-echo steady state (DESS) with water excitation (WE) sagittal (SAG), regarding their abilities to identify changes in the femorotibial condyle cartilage in knee MRI examinations. Thirty three consecutive patients with osteoarthritis (18 females, 15 males; mean age 56 years, range 37–71 years), who had been routinely scanned for knee examination using the previously mentioned image acquisition techniques, participated in the study. A quantitative analysis was performed based on the relative contrast (ReCON) measurements, which were taken both on normal tissues as well as on pathologies. Additionally, a qualitative analysis was performed by two radiologists. Motion and pulsatile flow artifacts were evaluated. The PD BLADE FS COR sequence produced images of higher contrast between Menisci and Cartilage, Fluid and Cartilage, Pathologies and Cartilage as well as of the Conspicuousness Superficial Cartilage and it was found to be superior to the other sequences (p < 0.001). The sequences T2 3D DESS 1.5 mm and T2 3D DESS 3 mm were significantly superior to the PD BLADE FS COR and the PD FS COR sequences in the visualization of Bone and Cartilage and the Conspicuousness Deep Surface Cartilage. This pattern of results is also confirmed by the quantitative analysis. PD FS BLADE sequences are ideal for the depiction of the cartilage pathologies compared to the conventional PD FS and T2 3D DESS sequences.  相似文献

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the ability of T2 turbo spin echo (TSE) axial and sagittal BLADE sequences in reducing or even eliminating motion, pulsatile flow and cross-talk artifacts in lumbar spine MRI examinations. Forty four patients, who had routinely undergone a lumbar spine examination, participated in the study. The following pairs of sequences with and without BLADE were compared: a) T2 TSE Sagittal (SAG) in thirty two cases, and b) T2 TSE Axial (AX) also in thirty two cases. Both quantitative and qualitative analyses were performed based on measurements in different normal anatomical structures and examination of seven characteristics, respectively. The qualitative analysis was performed by experienced radiologists. Also, the presence of image motion, pulsatile flow and cross-talk artifacts was evaluated. Based on the results of the qualitative analysis for the different sequences and anatomical structures, the BLADE sequences were found to be significantly superior to the conventional ones in all the cases. The BLADE sequences eliminated the motion artifacts in all the cases. In our results, it was found that in the examined sequences (sagittal and axial) the differences between the BLADE and conventional sequences regarding the elimination of motion, pulsatile flow and cross-talk artifacts were statistically significant. In all the comparisons, the T2 TSE BLADE sequences were significantly superior to the corresponding conventional sequences regarding the classification of their image quality. In conclusion, this technique appears to be capable of potentially eliminating motion, pulsatile flow and cross-talk artifacts in lumbar spine MR images and producing high quality images in collaborative and non-collaborative patients.  相似文献
