Surface modification of low cost carbons for their application in the environmental protection 总被引:3,自引:0,他引:3
In this work, the CO2 capture capacity of a series of activated carbons derived from recycled polyethylene terephtalate (PET) was tested, facing two problems at the same time: minimising plastic waste and developing an adsorbent for CO2 capture. The PET raw material, obtained from post-consumer soft-drink bottles, was chemically activated with KOH. In addition, a series of nitrogen-enriched activated carbons was obtained by mixing the raw material with different nitrogen compounds (i.e., acridine, carbazole and urea). The influence of temperature on the CO2 capture capacity of the adsorbents was evaluated in a thermogravimetric system. The CO2 uptake was also related to the chemical and textural characteristics of the samples. 相似文献

In this work we have investigated the role of porous carbon material used as a photocatalyst and a catalyst support in the carbon/titania composite in the photodegradation of phenol, and compared the results to those of bare titanium oxide. The immobilization of titania on an activated carbon provoked acceleration of the degradation rate under UV irradiation, which is likely to be attributed to the porosity of the carbon support. The identification of the degradation intermediates detected in the solution showed that the presence of the carbon support affects the nature of phenol degradation mechanism through the formation of different intermediates. Additionally, phenol photodecomposition rate over the carbon support outperformed that attained in the carbon/titania composite, suggesting an important self-photoactivity of the carbon support. 相似文献

High birefringence and low viscosity isothiocyanate liquid crystal single compounds, and eutectic mixtures based solely on unsaturated rigid core structures, are reported. Extraordinarily high values of figure‐of‐merit were observed at room temperature for the formulated nematic mixtures. Potential applications of such mixtures for laser beam steering at λ = 1.55 µm using optical phased arrays are emphasized. 相似文献

For a subvariety of a smooth projective variety, consider the family of smooth hypersurfaces of sufficiently large degree containing it, and take the quotient of the middle cohomology of the hypersurfaces by the cohomology of the ambient variety and also by the cycle classes of the irreducible components of the subvariety. Using Deligne's semisimplicity theorem together with Steenbrink's theory for semistable degenerations, we give a simpler proof of the first author's theorem (with a better bound of the degree of hypersurfaces) that this monodromy representation is irreducible. 相似文献

A novel set‐up has been designed and used for synchrotron radiation X‐ray high‐resolution powder diffraction (SR‐HRPD) in transmission geometry (spinning capillary) for in situ solid–gas reactions and processes in an isobaric and isothermal environment. The pressure and temperature of the sample are controlled from 10?3 to 1000 mbar and from 80 to 1000 K, respectively. To test the capacities of this novel experimental set‐up, structure deformation in the porous material zeolitic imidazole framework (ZIF‐8) by gas adsorption at cryogenic temperature has been studied under isothermal and isobaric conditions. Direct structure deformations by the adsorption of Ar and N2 gases have been observed in situ, demonstrating that this set‐up is perfectly suitable for direct structural analysis under in operando conditions. The presented results prove the feasibility of this novel experimental station for the characterization in real time of solid–gas reactions and other solid–gas processes by SR‐HRPD. 相似文献
