A short convergent synthesis of the fungal metabolites cephalosporolides E and F is reported. The key step makes use of a chelation-controlled Mukaiyama aldol reaction to access the key acyclic spiroacetal precursor with the required syn stereochemistry.  相似文献

We start by pointing out relationships between production of information, global simulation, and supercomputing, thus placing our research activities in today's society context. Then we detail the evolution in hardware and software for 1CAP, our experimental supercomputer, which we claim to be especially well suited for supercomputing in science and engineering. A preliminary discussion of 1CAP/3090 (our latest experimental effort) is included. Many examples from different disciplines are provided to verify our assertions. We “prove” our point by presenting an example of global supercomputing. Starting with 3 nuclei and 10 electrons, building up to a single water molecule, then to a few hundred, we learn, for example, about Raman, infrared, and neutron scattering; we then move up to a few hundred thousand molecules to analyze particle flow and obstructions; finally we experiment, but only preliminarily, with a few million particles to learn more on nonequilibrium dynamics as in the Rayleigh-Benard systems. In this way, quantum mechanics is overlapped with statistical mechanics and expanded into microdynamics. The entire paper is finally reanalyzed from a different perspective, presenting rather systematically, even if most briefly, our ideas on “modern” computational chemistry, where quantum mechanics is as much needed as fluid dynamics and graphics. In this section the main computational techniques are analyzed in terms of computer programs and their associated flow diagrams to solve the basic equations using parallel supercomputers.  相似文献

Solutions of the zinc hydroxide complex [Tp(Bu(t),Me)]ZnOH in alcohols (ROH; R = Me, Et, Pr(i)) achieve hydride transfer to the NAD(+) model, 10-methylacridinium perchlorate. Deuterium labeling studies, however, demonstrate that the source of the hydride is not the alcohol but, rather, the B [bond] H group of the [Tp(Bu(t),Me)] ligand. A further example in which a [Tp(Bu(t),Me)] ligand acts as a hydride donor is provided by the reaction of the aqua complex [[Tp(Bu(t),Me)]Zn(OH(2))][HOB(C(6)F(5))(3)] with MeOH to generate the zinc hydride complex [Tp(Bu(t),Me)]ZnH. The present study therefore provides a caveat for the often assumed inertness of the B [bond] H group in tris(pyrazolyl)hydroborato ligands, especially in the presence of reactive cationic species.  相似文献

Transfer of silver ions across the water/1,2-dichloroethane interface was studied by cyclic voltammetry (CV). In the absence of added neutral ionophore, Ag+ transferred across the interface when the organic phase contained either tetraphenylborate or tetrakis(4-chloro)phenylborate anions, but this transfer was not possible in the presence of organic phase hexafluorophosphate or perchlorate anions. The ion transfer processes observed were independent of the nature of the organic phase cation. The CV in the presence of tetraphenylborate exhibited a shape consistent with an ion transfer followed by chemical reaction; the rate constant for the following chemical reaction was 0.016 s(-1). In the presence of tetrakis(4-chloro)phenylborate, a return peak equivalent in magnitude to the forward peak was observed, indicative of a simple ion transfer reaction uncomplicated by accompanying chemical reactions. The selectivity of the transfer was assessed with respect to other metal cations: no transfers for copper, cadmium, lead, bismuth, cobalt, nickel, palladium or zinc were observed. The selectivity of the transfer suggests this can form the basis of a selective voltammetric methodology for the determination of silver ions.  相似文献

A route has been developed which allows synthesis of novel cyclobutanone analogues of penicillin. This is illustrated by the synthesis of (1R,4R,5R,5′R,7S)-(1b) and (1S,4S,5S,5′R,7R)-7-[5′-amino-5′-carboxy]pentanamido]-2-thiabicyclo[3.2.0]heptan-6-one-4-carboxylate (1a), an analogue of penicillin N. The key steps in the synthesis were the formation of the bicyclic structure via a [2+2] cycloaddition and the introduction of nitrogen at C7 via an intramolecular nitrene insertion.  相似文献

Doxorubicin was intercalated into novel zirconium phosphate nano-platelets (ZrP). The obtained doxorubicin intercalated ZrP nano-platelets had an impressive 34.9% (w/w) drug loading. We used this material to deliver doxorubicin to breast cancer cells (MCF-7). Cellular studies with MCF-7 cells showed higher uptake and cytotoxicity of doxorubicin loaded ZrP compared to free doxorubicin.  相似文献

Vitamin B(12) (cyanocobalamin) and its biologically active derivatives, methylcobalamin and adenosylcobalamin, are members of the family of corrinoids, which also includes cobinamides. As biological precursors to cobalamins, cobinamides possess the same structural core, consisting of a low-spin Co(3+) ion that is ligated equatorially by the four nitrogens of a highly substituted tetrapyrrole macrocycle (the corrin ring), but differ with respect to the lower axial ligation. Specifically, cobinamides possess a water molecule instead of the nucleotide loop that coordinates axially to Co(3+)cobalamins via its dimethylbenzimidazole (DMB) base. Compared to the cobalamin species, cobinamides have proven much more difficult to study experimentally, thus far eluding characterization by X-ray crystallography. In this study, we have utilized combined quantum mechanics/molecular mechanics (QM/MM) computations to generate complete structural models of a representative set of cobinamide species with varying upper axial ligands. To validate the use of this approach, analogous QM/MM geometry optimizations were carried out on entire models of the cobalamin counterparts for which high-resolution X-ray structural data are available. The accuracy of the cobinamide structures was assessed further by comparing electronic absorption spectra computed using time-dependent density functional theory to those obtained experimentally. Collectively, the results obtained in this study indicate that the DMB → H(2)O lower axial ligand switch primarily affects the energies of the Co 3d(z(2))-based molecular orbital (MO) and, to a lesser extent, the other Co 3d-based MOs as well as the corrin π-based highest energy MO. Thus, while the energy of the lowest-energy electronic transition of cobalamins changes considerably as a function of the upper axial ligand, it is nearly invariant for the cobinamides.  相似文献

A joint experimental-theoretical study has been carried out on electronic states of propadienylidene (H(2)CCC), using results from negative-ion photoelectron spectroscopy. In addition to the previously characterized X(1)A(1) electronic state, spectroscopic features are observed that belong to five additional states: the low-lying ?(3)B(1) and b(3)A(2) states, as well as two excited singlets, ?(1)A(2) and B(1)B(1), and a higher-lying triplet, c(3)A(1). Term energies (T(0), in cm(-1)) for the excited states obtained from the data are: 10,354±11 (?(3)B(1)); 11,950±30 (b(3)A(2)); 20,943±11 (c(3)A(1)); and 13,677±11 (?(1)A(2)). Strong vibronic coupling affects the ?(1)A(2) and B(1)B(1) states as well as ?(3)B(1) and b(3)A(2) and has profound effects on the spectrum. As a result, only a weak, broadened band is observed in the energy region where the origin of the B(1)B(1) state is expected. The assignments here are supported by high-level coupled-cluster calculations and spectral simulations based on a vibronic coupling Hamiltonian. A result of astrophysical interest is that the present study supports the idea that a broad absorption band found at 5450 ? by cavity ringdown spectroscopy (and coincident with a diffuse interstellar band) is carried by the B(1)B(1) state of H(2)CCC.  相似文献

This paper describes the equilibrium morphologies of zinc sulfide nanoparticles in the wurtzite phase as a function of size, determined using ab initio Density Functional Theory (DFT) simulations and a shape-dependent thermodynamic model predicting the Gibbs free energy of a nanoparticle. We investigate the relative stabilities of a variety of nanoparticle shapes based on the wurtzite structure and show how the aspect ratio of wurtzite nanorods moderates the size-dependent phase transformation to the zinc blende phase. We find that while wurtzite nanoparticles are thermodynamically unstable with respect to the low energy rhombic dodecahedron morphology in the zinc blende phase at all sizes, shape- and size-dependent phase transformations occur when other zinc blende morphologies are present. Despite popular synthesis of zinc sulphide nanoparticles in the wurtzite phase, an in-depth thermodynamic study relating to the relative stability of wurtzite shapes and comparison with the zinc blende phase does not exist. Therefore this is the first thermodynamic study describing how shape can determine the solid phase of zinc sulfide nanostructures, which will be of critical importance to experimental applications of nanostructured zinc sulfide, where phase and shape determines properties.  相似文献

The growing consumer demand for food with sensory quality and nutritional has called for research to develop new products with consumer acceptance as cookies made from flaxseed meal, that can be inserted in diet of celiacs. Celiac disease characterized by an inappropriate immune response to dietary proteins found in wheat, rye and barley (gluten and gliadin). It can affect anyone at any age and is more common in women. The celiac disease does not have cure and the only scientifically proven treatment is a gluten free diet. Irradiation as a decontamination method used for a many variety of foodstuffs, being very feasible, useful method to increase the shelf life, effective and environmental friendly without any sensory properties significant change. Sensory analyses were used to assess gluten-free bakery foods subjected to ionizing radiation sensory attributes.  相似文献
