The synthesis and characterization of new Ru(II) and Os(II) complexes of the ligand eilatin (1) are described. The new complexes [Ru(bpy)(eil)(2)](2+) (2), [Ru(eil)(3)](2+) (3), and [Os(eil)(3)](2+) (4) (bpy = 2,2'-bipyridine; eil = eilatin) were synthesized and characterized by NMR, fast atom bombardment mass spectrometry, and elemental analysis. In the series of complexes [Ru(bpy)(x)(eil)(y)()](2+) (x + y = 3), the effect of sequential substitution of eil for bpy on the electrochemical and photophysical properties was examined. The absorption spectra of the complexes exhibit several bpy- and eil-associated pi-pi and metal-to-ligand charge-transfer (MLCT) transitions in the visible region (400-600 nm), whose energy and relative intensity depend on the number of ligands bound to the metal center (x and y). On going from [Ru(bpy)(2)(eil)](2+) (5) to 2 to 3, the d(pi)(Ru) --> pi(eil) MLCT transition undergoes a red shift from 583 to 591 to 599 nm, respectively. Electrochemical measurements performed in dimethyl sulfoxide reveal several ligand-based reduction processes, where each eil ligand can accept up to two electrons at potentials that are significantly anodically shifted (by ca. 1 V) with respect to the bpy ligands. The complexes exhibit near-IR emission (900-1100 nm) of typical (3)MLCT character, both at room temperature and at 77 K. Along the series 5, 2, and 3, upon substitution of eil for bpy, the emission maxima undergo a blue shift and the quantum yields and lifetimes increase. The radiative and nonradiative processes that contribute to deactivation of the excited level are discussed in detail. 相似文献

Adducts of the ligand bis(1,2,4-triazol-1-yl)methane (tz(2)(CH(2))) of the form AgX:tz(2)(CH(2)):ER(3):MeCN (1:1:1:x) (X = NO(3), R = Ph, E = P, As, or Sb, x = 1 or 2; X = NO(2), ClO(4), O(3)SCF(3), E = P, R = Ph, x = 0, 1 or 2; X = NO(3), ClO(4), E = P, R = cy, x = 1; X = ClO(4), E = As, R = Ph, x = 2) and AgNO(3):tz(2)(CH(2)):P(o-tolyl)(3) (2:2:1) have been synthesized and characterized in the solid state and in solution by analyses, spectral (IR, far-IR, (1)H and (13)C NMR, ESI MS data) data, and conductivity measurements. In the one-dimensional polymers (characterized by X-ray studies) AgNO(3):tz(2)(CH(2)):PPh(3):CH(3)CN (1:1:1:1), AgClO(4):tz(2)(CH(2)):PPh(3):CH(3)CN (1:1:1:2), AgNO(3):tz(2)(CH(2)):AsPh(3): CH(3)CN (1:1:1:2), and AgNO(3):tz(2)(CH(2)):SbPh(3):CH(3)CN (1:1:1:2), the silver atom can be regarded as four-coordinate, the tz(2)(CH(2)) ligands behaving as bridging groups rather than chelates, with no pair of ligands being dominant, quasi-trans, in their interactions. The AgNO(3):tz(2)(CH(2)):P(o-tolyl)(3) (2:2:1) adduct is a two-dimensional polymer containing two independent silver atoms, one four-coordinated unsymmetrically by a pair of triazolyl rings, one P(o-tolyl)(3), and a unidentate nitrate and the second by a quasi-symmetrical O(2)NO chelate and a pair of equivalent triazolyl rings. 相似文献

The optical activity of conjugated dienes is investigated by means of ab initio SCF–CI calculations. The computed electronic spectrum of trans-1,3-butadiene is shown to be in good agreement with the results of more rigorous calculations of the valence transitions and in satisfactory agreement with experiment. The optical rotatory strengths of the lower electronic transitions of twisted 1,3-butadiene as a function of dihedral angle are presented and simulated CD spectra are produced. The N → V1 (π2 → π3*) transition is predicted to have a positive rotational strength for all dihedral angles that correspond to a right-handed twist of the chromophore, in accord with the empirically deduced “diene rule” although for a twist angle of 60°, the rotatory strength is calculated to be almost zero. The role of the orientation of allylic bonds is investigated in the model system 1-butene in which the rotational strength of the π → π* transition as a function of rotation about the 2,3 bond is determined. The effect of allylic bond disposition in dienes on the optical activity of the long-wavelength π2 → π3* transition is simulated by use of the exciton coupling model of Harada and Nakanishi in which two 1-butene molecules with suitable geometries are coupled via interactions of the electric dipole transition moments of their π → π* transitions. The model systems 1,3-butadiene and 1-butene are used to rationalize the apparently anomalous optical activity of (?)-α-phellandrene and (?)-β-phellandrene, both of which should have a diene chromophore with a right-handed twist in their most stable conformers and so should be dextrorotatory. The experimental CD spectrum of α-phellandrene is determined at several temperatures down to ?180°C. The observed variation of the apparent rotational strength of the N → V1 transition is in good agreement with that predicted by use of the exciton coupling model. 相似文献

Molecular structural determinations are reported for six Co3C carbonyl cluster complexes containing tertiary phosphines, which have been isolated as by-products from a variety of reactions. Structural features are similar to those of related complexes already reported. Some discussion of apparent orientational preferences of the CH2 group of dppm ligands, which appear to enter into H-bonding interactions with amido or carboxylate substituents, is given. The 444 nm 2 0 (1) bands of the A 2A'-X 2A" transition of the jet-cooled HP 35Cl and HP 37Cl radicals have been studied at high resolution using the pulsed electric discharge technique with a precursor mixture of PCl3 and H2. Spectra recorded with linewidths of approximately 360 MHz revealed resolved hyperfine structure in both isotopomers arising from the excited state Fermi contact interaction of the unpaired electron with the magnetic moment of the 31P nucleus, with aF'=0.0641(10) cm(-1) and 0.0636(31) cm(-1) for HP 35Cl and HP 37Cl, respectively. No contribution from the ground state, or excited state contributions from the hydrogen or chlorine nuclei were resolved, confirming ab initio predictions that HPCl is a p pi radical in the X state, and an s sigma radical with a substantial contribution from the phosphorus 3s atomic orbital in the A state. The free atom comparison method has been used to estimate that the singly occupied molecular orbital in the excited state has 14% phosphorus 3s character. 相似文献

A series of complexes has been prepared with the halides of cobalt(II), nickel(II), copper(II) and 2-,3-,4-ethylpyridine. The compounds were essentially all octahedral with the exception of those formed between 2-ethylpyridine and the cobalt(II) halides. The stereochemical configurations were deduced using spectral and magnetic properties. The decomposition of the complexes was studied by thermogravimetry and differential thermal analysis.

Die Verbindungen waren im Wesentlichen alle oktaedrisch, mit Ausnahme jener, die aus 2-äthylpyridin und den Cobalt(II) halogeniden gebildet wurden. Die stereochemischen Konfigurationen wurden aus den spektralen und magnetischen Eigenschaften abgeleitet. Der Zerfall der Komplexe wurde durch Thermogravimetrie und Differentialthermoanalyse untersucht.
Résumé Une série de complexes a été préparée avec les halogénures de cobalt(II), nickel(II), cuivre(II) et éthyl-2-, 3-, 4- pyridine. La plupart des composés sont octaédriques, à l'exception de ceux formés à partir de l'éthyl-2 pyridine et les halogénures de cobalt(II). Les configurations stéréochimiques ont été déduites des propriétés spectrales et magnétiques. La dé composition des complexes a été suivie par thermogravimétrie et analyse thermique différentielle.

The reactions of magnesium and calcium bis(hexamethyldisilazide) with propiophenone have been studied with a view to determine the utility of these bases in the stereoselective enolization of ketones and to uncover the nature of the metal enolate intermediates produced. Both base systems are highly Z-selective when the reactions are conducted in the presence of polar solvents. However, in situ monitoring of the magnesium system in arene solution revealed a preference for E-enolate formation, which was confirmed by silyl enol ether trapping studies. Solution NMR studies of the magnesium system in toluene-d8 show the presence of a monomer-dimer equilibrium for the intermediate amidomagnesium enolates. This assignment is supported by the characterization of a disolvated amidomagnesium enolate dimer by crystallographic analysis. Comparative studies of the calcium system show distinctly different behavior. This is exemplified by the characterization of a novel solvent-separated ion pair complex and a monomeric amidocalcium enolate in the solid state. Solution NMR studies of the calcium system in pyridine-d5 reveal the co-existence of the heteroleptic amidocalcium enolate, the bisamide, the bisenolate and the ion pair complex. 相似文献

The N-N linkage in hydrazine is thermally stable when it is tetrasubstituted and there are electron-withdrawinggroups attached to the nitrogen atoms. Our research on the synthesis of polymers contaning N--N linkages is reviewed. TheN,N-bisimide structure has been introduced in the backbone of polymers as well as a pendant group in poly(aryl ether)s togive very thermoxidatively stable polymers with very high glass transition temperatures. Most of the polymers form tough,flexible films. N-Aminotriazoles also form stable imides by reaction with anhydrides and these N-imidotriazole groups havebeen introduced as pendent groups on poly(aryl ether)s. The polymers are highly fluorescent materials. Three methods for thesynthesis of polymers containing the tetrasubstituted-azine structure will be discussed: (1) oxidative coupling of bisimines;(2) condensation of bishydrazones with diketones; (3) poly(aryl ether azines) from the azine formed from 4-fluorobenzo-phenone by reaction with salts of bisphenols. 相似文献

Linear complexes [MeHgL]NO3 (L = substituted pyridine) have been prepared and their 1H and 199Hg NMR spectra measured and compared with other complexes of this series reported previously. The coupling constant J(1H?199Hg) correlates directly with pKa and with the gas phase enthalpy of ionization [ΔGi(g)] of LH+; with J(1H?199Hg) decreasing with increasing pKa or ΔGi(g). The chemical shift, δ, for 199Hg does not correlate with either pKa or ΔGi(g). Complexes without substituents in the 2 position of pyridine have δ199Hg ca. 80–100 ppm downfield from MeHgNO3, those with one methyl group in the 2 position ca. 125–150 ppm, and those with methyl groups in the 2 and 6 position (or benzyl or 3′-methylpyridyl groups in the 2 position) ca. 160–200 ppm downfield from MeHgNO3. The coupling constant J(1H?199Hg) is found to be more useful than δ199Hg in determination of solution structures of MeHg(II) complexes of this type of ligand. 相似文献
