The experimental determination of ionization and appearance energies is discussed, together with the calculation of heats of formation of ions. Results are presented for the ions [CnH2n+1]+, [CnH2n+2N]+ and [CnH2n+1O]+. The low temperature (~350K), low energy (12.1eV) mass spectra of some alkanes, amines and alcohols are presented and discussed.  相似文献

Emission spectra of the radical cations of the title fluorobenzenes were excited in the gaseous phase by electron impact. Abstract: A method is described utilizing the tetrazolium salts neotetrazolium chloride (NTC), triphenyltetrazolium chloride (TTC), C, N -diphenyl- N' -4,5-dimethylthiazol-2-yrtetrazolium bromide (MTT) and various substrates to elucidate damage to the mitochondrial electron transport chain of intact cells following in vitro photodynamic therapy (PDT). Using this methodology, a portion of the dark toxicity manifested by Photofrin II (PII) was found to occur prior to entry of electrons into the transport chain through Complex I, as evidenced by the fact that the inhibition of MTT reduction was reversible by the addition of malic acid to the culture media. A second site of dark toxicity was found to be Complex IV (cytochrome oxidase). After photoirradiation of the cells, Complex I was found to be affected since malic acid could no longer reverse the inhibition of MTT reduction but it could be reversed by the addition of succinic acid, whose electrons enter the transport chain at Complex II. A second and more sensitive site of photoirradiation damage was found to be Complex IV. A region near cytochrome C was also affected by photoirradiation but appreciably less so than noted for Complexes I and IV. A kinetic analysis of MTT and TTC reduction following photoirradiation indicated that MTT reduction was sustained at a normal rate for 1 h after which it slowed down and eventually plateaued. In contrast, TTC reduction was found to be inhibited almost immediately indicating Complex IV is extremely susceptible to photoirradiation damage. Compared to other assays of mitochondrial function requiring subcellular fractionation, the use of tetrazolium salts is simpler to perform and can be done using physiologically relevant conditions.  相似文献

Mutagenic primary polycyclic aromatic amines present in shale oil and synthetic crudes may be readily detected by a simple derivatization and Chromatographic procedure. Nitrogenous bases and amines are extracted from the sample with dilute mineral acid and derivatized with trifluoroacetic anhydride. The derivatized amines are separated by gas chromatography and specifically detected using a glow-discharge detector tuned to an emission wavelength of fluorine. Under these conditions, the aromatic nitrogenous bases, such as acridine, are not detected even though they are present in the sample. As little as 14 ng of fluorine, arising from the derivative of 33 ng of 2,4,6-trimethylaniline, can be detected. The selectivity of the glow-discharge detector for derivatized amines vs. nonderivatized aromatic nitrogenous bases was estimated to be a minimum of 200:1.  相似文献

Copper(II) fluorine reacts with the pentafluorides, TaF5, PF5, and AsF5, in acetonitrile to give solvated CuII, hexafluoroanion salts. These react with copper metal to give the corresponding CuI compounds. Similar reactions occur between AsF5 and silver(I) or thallium(I) fluorides, but silver(II) fluoride reacts with MeCN, and AgI hexafluoroarsenate is formed. PF5 oxidises Cu slowly in MeCN to give CuI hexafluorophosphate, but AsF5 has no oxidising ability towards metals in MeCN. Spectroscopic data for Cu(MF6)2·5MeCN and Cu(MF6)·4MeCN (M = Ta or P) are discussed.  相似文献

A general method for the preparations of pyranthiones is particularly useful for preparing substituted xanthiones which are unavailable by established procedures. Reaction of a xanthone with p-tosyl isocyanate or with trichloroacetyl isocyanate produces the corresponding imino derivatives, which upon treatment with n-butylamine followed by hydrogen sulfide gives the desired xanthione in good yield.  相似文献

A helium glow discharge is employed as a gas Chromatographie detector which is selective for silicon. Operated with spectral background compensation at 251.6 nm or 288.2 nm, the detector shows a lower limit of detection of 5 ng of silicon per injection. The detector is applied to the rapid screening of trimethylsilylated fractions of shale-derived liquids being prepared for biossay.  相似文献

A series of complexes has been prepared with the halides of cobalt(II), nickel(II), copper(II) and 2-,3-,4-ethylpyridine. The compounds were essentially all octahedral with the exception of those formed between 2-ethylpyridine and the cobalt(II) halides. The stereochemical configurations were deduced using spectral and magnetic properties. The decomposition of the complexes was studied by thermogravimetry and differential thermal analysis.
Zusammenfassung Eine Reihe von Komplexen wurde aus den Halogeniden von Cobalt(II), Nickel(II), Kupfer(II) und 2-, 3-, 4-äthylpyridin hergestellt. Die Verbindungen waren im Wesentlichen alle oktaedrisch, mit Ausnahme jener, die aus 2-äthylpyridin und den Cobalt(II) halogeniden gebildet wurden. Die stereochemischen Konfigurationen wurden aus den spektralen und magnetischen Eigenschaften abgeleitet. Der Zerfall der Komplexe wurde durch Thermogravimetrie und Differentialthermoanalyse untersucht.

Résumé Une série de complexes a été préparée avec les halogénures de cobalt(II), nickel(II), cuivre(II) et éthyl-2-, 3-, 4- pyridine. La plupart des composés sont octaédriques, à l'exception de ceux formés à partir de l'éthyl-2 pyridine et les halogénures de cobalt(II). Les configurations stéréochimiques ont été déduites des propriétés spectrales et magnétiques. La dé composition des complexes a été suivie par thermogravimétrie et analyse thermique différentielle.

Linear complexes [MeHgL]NO3 (L = substituted pyridine) have been prepared and their 1H and 199Hg NMR spectra measured and compared with other complexes of this series reported previously. The coupling constant J(1H?199Hg) correlates directly with pKa and with the gas phase enthalpy of ionization [ΔGi(g)] of LH+; with J(1H?199Hg) decreasing with increasing pKa or ΔGi(g). The chemical shift, δ, for 199Hg does not correlate with either pKa or ΔGi(g). Complexes without substituents in the 2 position of pyridine have δ199Hg ca. 80–100 ppm downfield from MeHgNO3, those with one methyl group in the 2 position ca. 125–150 ppm, and those with methyl groups in the 2 and 6 position (or benzyl or 3′-methylpyridyl groups in the 2 position) ca. 160–200 ppm downfield from MeHgNO3. The coupling constant J(1H?199Hg) is found to be more useful than δ199Hg in determination of solution structures of MeHg(II) complexes of this type of ligand.  相似文献
