The influence of molecular weight and the amount of the poly(vinylpyrrolidone) (PVP) on the growth of poly(vinylpyrrolidone)–based films on copper surfaces was studied by electrochemical, infrared and electronic spectroscopy, and thermogravimetric methods. Complex polymer/metal ions were deposited onto a copper surface, as the result of the electrochemically generated reaction of copper cations with PVP and SCN?, in sulfuric acid media. Spontaneous film growth on copper surfaces was generated and characterized as a Cu(II)/PVP/SCN? complex. Infrared spectra and thermal gravimetric curves of the films generated at + 0.7 V were compared with the chemically synthesized complex, and show the same patterns. The oxidation process can be described as: Cu(0)→Cu(I) and Cu(I)→Cu(II), and the copper complex formed at more positive potentials was characterized as Cu(II)/PVP/SCN?, with copper bonded to the oxygen atom of PVP and thiocyanate ligand N‐linked. This study focuses on the complex formation on a copper surface in acid media and its characterization through electrochemical and spontaneously generated reactions. © 2009 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. A hexagonal mesoporous silica (HMS) functionalized with a 5-mercapto-1-methyltetrazole derivative was employed to prepare a chemically modified carbon paste electrode for Pb(II) detection in aqueous solution by square wave adsorptive stripping voltammetry. The optimal operating conditions were 5 min preconcentration time at pH 6.5, and 120 s electrolysis time in 0.2 mol L?1 HCl. Under these conditions, the voltammetric signal increased linearly with the preconcentration time in the range 1 to 10 min and with the Pb(II) concentration in the range 1 to 100?µg L?1. The electrode was reproducible and sensitive. Simultaneous determination of Pb, Cd and Cu was also carried out with the electrode. The accuracy of the method was validated by analysing Pb(II) in tap water and groundwater samples.  相似文献

A novel device and methodology for the rapid and simple label-free electrochemical detection of proteins based on screen-printed carbon electrodes (SPCEs) modified with nanoporous Al2O3 membranes is reported. The nanoporous membranes are functionalized with antibodies and followed by the immunorecognition event that gives rise to the pore blocking. The blockage inside the nanochannels is fast, pore size dependent and easy to be detected by measuring the decrease in the differential pulse voltammetric (DPV) peak current of the [Fe(CN6)]4?/3? redox specie used as indicator. The developed nanoporous membrane based device represents a simple biodetection alternative that can be extended in the future to several other immuno and DNA detection systems.  相似文献

A novel nanoparticle-based enhanced methodology for the detection of ssDNA using nanoporous alumina filter membranes, containing pores of 200 nm in diameter, is reported. The blockage of the pores due to the hybridization is detected by measuring the decrease in the differential pulse voltammetric response of the [Fe(CN)(6)](4-/3-) redox indicator and using screen-printed carbon electrodes as transducing platform. Furthermore, 20 nm gold nanoparticle (AuNPs) tags are used in order to increase the sensitivity of the assay. The enhancement mechanism of DNA detection is due to an additional blocking effect induced by hybridization reaction by bringing AuNPs inside the pores. The developed methodology can be extended to other biosensing systems with interest not only for DNA but also for proteins and cells. The developed nanochannel/nanoparticle biosensing system would have enormous potential in future miniaturized designs adapted to mass production technologies such as screen-printing technology.  相似文献

Background  

The exact cause of schizophrenia is not known, although several aetiological theories have been proposed for the disease, including developmental or neurodegenerative processes, neurotransmitter abnormalities, viral infection and immune dysfunction or autoimmune mechanisms. Growing evidence suggests that specific cytokines and chemokines play a role in signalling the brain to produce neurochemical, neuroendocrine, neuroimmune and behavioural changes. A relationship between inflammation and schizophrenia was supported by abnormal cytokines production, abnormal concentrations of cytokines and cytokine receptors in the blood and cerebrospinal fluid in schizophrenia. Since the neuropathology of schizophrenia has recently been reported to be closely associated with microglial activation we aimed to determined whether spontaneous or LPS-induced peripheral blood mononuclear cell chemokines and cytokines production is dysregulated in schizophrenic patients compared to healthy subjects. We enrolled 51 untreated first-episode schizophrenics (SC) and 40 healthy subjects (HC) and the levels of MCP-1, MIP-1α, IL-8, IL-18, IFN-γ and RANTES were determined by Elisa method in cell-free supernatants of PBMC cultures.  相似文献

In this study, carbon black/polystyrene electrically conductive composites were obtained by suspension polymerization technique. The composite was characterized using transmission electron microscopy, which indicated two outstanding features concerning to the carbon black; first, that the carbon particles were adsorbed onto the surface of the polystyrene particles, similarly as in the Pickering emulsion phenomenon and second, that the primary aggregate structure of the carbon black was significantly affected by the dispersion process. On the other hand, the composite resistivity was in the order of 200 Ωcm, which was attributed to the direct contact of primary carbon black particles (percolation) and not to the tunneling effect. The obtained composite was evaluated as the electrically conductive element in SBR matrix.  相似文献
