A recoil distance method was used to measure half-lives of the excited states of 145Sm. The reaction used was 139La(10B, 4n)145Sm. A plunger system was used. Half-lives were determined for two excited states for the first time. The yrast 27/2+ state was found to have a half-life of 1.1 ± 0.2 ns corresponding to the retardation of 3.1 × 10−4 comparing with the single particle estimate of M1. The excitation energy of this state was well reproduced by the shell model
calculation having a mixed configuration of [π{h11/2(g7/2)−2 (d5/2)−1}10−, νf7/2] + [π{h11/2(g7/2)−1}9−,νh9/2]. Another retarded E1 transition was also found in a decay of a 21/2+ state. Its retardation was 1.6 × 10−4 comparing with the single particle value.

The ESR of Cr3+ in dark ruby is measured using a high frequency ESR spectrometer with a wide frequency range which uses a gyrotron as the radiation source. For this purpose, GYROTRON FU- IV A developed at Fukui University was optimized for use in an ESR apparatus operating in the millimeter-wave range.The observed fine structure constant D for ruby is found to be D –5.728 GHz and the g-values g 1.981, g 1.982. Both the values of |D| and g are smaller than those obtained at lower frequencies by other work. Higher order terms of the spin hamiltonian are discussed in order to understand the ruby ESR results in this higher frequency range. 相似文献

A heterodyne receiver based on a 1/3 reduced height rectangular waveguide SIS mixer with two mechanical tuners has been built for astronomical observations of molecular transitions in the 230 GHz frequency band. The mixer used an untuned array (RnCj3, Rn70 ) of four Nb/AIOx/Nb tunnel junctions in series as a nonlinear mixing element. A reasonable balance between the input and output coupling efficiencies has been obtained by choosing the junction number N=4. The receiver exhibits DSB (Double Side Band) noise temperature around 50 K over a frequency range of more than 10 GHz centered at 230 GHz. The lowest system noise temperature of 38 K has been recorded at 232.5 GHz. Mainly by adjusting the subwaveguide backshort, the SSB (Single Side Band) operation with image rejection of 15 dB is obtained with the noise temperature as low as 50 K. In addition, the noise contribution from each receiver component has been studied further. The minimum SIS mixer noise temperature is estimated as 15 K, pretty close to the quantum limit v/k11 K at 230 GHz. It is believed that the receiver noise temperatures presented are the lowest yet reported for a 230 GHz receiver using untuned junctions. 相似文献

The microwave spectrum of 1-pyrroline has been measured from 8 to 48 GHz. The transitions have been assigned to those of the ground state and the four lowest excited states of the ring-puckering vibration of monomer, which is a five-membered ring molecule with one CN double bond. The trimer, which exists in the liquid phase, has not been detected in the gas phase. The geometrical structure of the monomer has been estimated by an ab initio calculation and the trimer by a molecular mechanics calculation. The former is consistent with the experimental rotational constants. A gas-phase infrared spectrum has also been measured, and the ring-puckering potential has been determined by an analysis of the combination bands of the ring-puckering mode and the ring-stretching modes. The potential is described using a puckering coordinate, z, as V(z) = az2 + bz4, where and ; these values are intermediate of the corresponding values for cyclopentene and 1-pyrazoline. The nuclear quadrupole coupling constants, χaa = ?4.39(10), χbb = 1.04(10), and χcc = 3.35(10) MHz, have been determined by an analysis of well-resolved hyperfine splittings. A compact high-resolution optical heterodyne interferometer combining a two-frequency light module and a minute optical system
is described. The light module, which generates two independent frequencies of light, is fabricated by proton exchange method
on LiNbO3 substrate. We report an experiment evaluating measurement accuracy using a micro-displacement measurement system which incorporates
this interferometer. Results of the experiment with a standard thickness sample show high thermal stability with maximum measurement
error of 1.8 nm at a temperature from 19°C to 33°C. The system was used to measure the hysteresis of a piezoelectric element

The existence of a 2‐factor in K1, n‐free graphs with large connectivity and large edge‐connectivity

In this article, we study the existence of a 2‐factor in a K1, n‐free graph. Sumner [J London Math Soc 13 (1976), 351–359] proved that for n?4, an (n?1)‐connected K1, n‐free graph of even order has a 1‐factor. On the other hand, for every pair of integers m and n with m?n?4, there exist infinitely many (n?2)‐connected K1, n‐free graphs of even order and minimum degree at least m which have no 1‐factor. This implies that the connectivity condition of Sumner's result is sharp, and we cannot guarantee the existence of a 1‐factor by imposing a large minimum degree. On the other hand, Ota and Tokuda [J Graph Theory 22 (1996), 59–64] proved that for n?3, every K1, n‐free graph of minimum degree at least 2n?2 has a 2‐factor, regardless of its connectivity. They also gave examples showing that their minimum degree condition is sharp. But all of them have bridges. These suggest that the effects of connectivity, edge‐connectivity and minimum degree to the existence of a 2‐factor in a K1, n‐free graph are more complicated than those to the existence of a 1‐factor. In this article, we clarify these effects by giving sharp minimum degree conditions for a K1, n‐free graph with a given connectivity or edge‐connectivity to have a 2‐factor. The design and operation of a 32 GHz pulsed gyrotron are reported. The device is step-tuned between the TE1,2 (24.16 GHz) and TE0,2 (31.78 GHz) modes with cathode voltages ranging from 30 to 40kV and beam current up to 5.0A. Experimental frequencies are in close agreement with the self-consistent calculated values and in the TE2,2 resonator mode an output peak power of 6kW corresponding to an 18% efficiency was measured by using a fast response calorimeter with a thermal sensitivity of 0.1°C/Wmin. 相似文献

Higher harmonic operation of gyrotrons is necessary to obtain high frequencies. Some gyrotrons included in the Gyrotron FU series developed at Fukui University have achieved operation at the third and even fourth harmonics of the electron cyclotron frequency. The output lies in the millimeter to submillimeter wavelength range and the output powers are several watts to several tens of watts. We successfully demonstrated low power penalty operation of a cross-phase modulated (XPM) wavelength converter using a semiconductor optical amplifier (SOA) power equalizer. We also clarified the SOA equalizing level for more adaptive wavelength conversion and achieved a power penalty of less than 1 dB over the wide input dynamic range of 15 dB. 相似文献
