We present new trends in the performance evaluation of submarine fiber cable system with different ultrahigh multiplexing and propagation techniques over a wide range of the affecting parameters. Our model takes into account the ultimate optical transmission of huge submarine cables with 14,400 channels under different depth conditions. We employ Raman and erbium-doped fiber amplifiers in our study. We investigate the double impact of both temperature and pressure through the defined depth penalty. We also study the soliton transmission technique using two multiplexing methods considered in the design of ultra-wide wavelength division multiplexing (UW-WDM) with 14,400 optical channels and ultra-wide space division multiplexing (UW-SDM) with 440 fiber links. Based on experimental data, both the deep ocean water temperature and pressure are obtained as functions of the water depth.  相似文献

We have observed low-macroscopic field electron emission from wide bandgap nanocrystalline Al doped SnO2 thin films deposited on glass substrates. The emission properties have been studied for different anode-sample spacings and for different Al concentrations in the films. The turn-on field and approximate work function were calculated and we have tried to explain the emission mechanism from this. The turn-on field was found to vary in the range 5.6–7.5 V/μm for a variation of anode sample spacing from 80–120 μm. The turn-on field was also found to vary from 4.6–5.68 V/μm for a fixed anode-sample separation of 80 μm with a variation of Al concentration in the films 8.16–2.31%. The Al concentrations in the films have been measured by energy dispersive X-ray analysis. Optical transmittance measurement of the films showed a high transparency with a direct bandgap ∼3.98 eV. Due to the wide bandgap, the electron affinity of the film decreased. This, along with the nanocrystalline nature of the films, enhanced the field emission properties. Numerical and experimental investigation is carried out to study the effect of combined vortex generator and nanofluids on turbulent heat transfer and fluid flow characteristics in an equilateral triangular duct. A triangular duct provides a lower heat transfer rate and lower pressure drop compared to other duct configurations. The improvement of heat transfer of these ducts increases their importance for providing higher heat transfer and lower pressure drop. Two different types of nanoparticles, namely Al2O3 and SiO2, suspended in distilled water with two particle concentrations are successfully prepared and experimentally tested. The numerical and experimental results show dramatic heat transfer enhancement by using a vortex generator and nanofluids, simultaneously accomplished with a moderate increase in the friction factor. A low deviation has been seen between the present numerical and experimental results.  相似文献

Subject-level resting-state fMRI (RS-fMRI) spatial independent component analysis (sICA) may provide new ways to analyze the data when performed in the sliding time window. However, whether principal component analysis (PCA) and voxel-wise variance normalization (VN) are applicable pre-processing procedures in the sliding-window context, as they are for regular sICA, has not been addressed so far. Also model order selection requires further studies concerning sliding-window sICA. In this paper we have addressed these concerns. First, we compared PCA-retained subspaces concerning overlapping parts of consecutive temporal windows to answer whether in-window PCA and VN can confound comparisons between sICA analyses in consecutive windows. Second, we compared the PCA subspaces between windowed and full data to assess expected comparability between windowed and full-data sICA results. Third, temporal evolution of dimensionality estimates in RS-fMRI data sets was monitored to identify potential challenges in model order selection in a sliding-window sICA context. Our results illustrate that in-window VN can be safely used, in-window PCA is applicable with most window widths and that comparisons between windowed and full data should not be performed from a subspace similarity point of view. In addition, our studies on dimensionality estimates demonstrated that there are sustained, periodic and very case-specific changes in signal-to-noise ratio within RS-fMRI data sets. Consequently, dimensionality estimation is needed for well-founded model order determination in the sliding-window case. The observed periodic changes correspond to a frequency band of ≤ 0.1 Hz, which is commonly associated with brain activity in RS-fMRI and become on average most pronounced at window widths of 80 and 60 time points (144 and 108 s, respectively). Wider windows provided only slightly better comparability between consecutive windows, and 60 time point or shorter windows also provided the best comparability with full-data results. Further studies are needed to determine the cause for dimensionality variations.  相似文献

In this paper, a new classroom acoustics assessment model (CAAM) based on analytic hierarchy process (AHP) for enhancing speech intelligibility and learning quality is proposed. The model is based on five main criteria that affect the learning process and related to classrooms acoustical properties. These include classroom specifications, noise sources inside and outside the classroom, teaching style, and vocal effort. The priority and weights of these major criteria along with their alternatives are identified using the views of students, staff, education consultants, and expertise by using a developed questionnaire, and the AHP methodology. This model can be considered as a helpful framework enabling universities decision makers to take effective decisions on classroom acoustics treatment issues. It also provides colleges’ higher authorities the suitable guidelines that help for determining necessary requirements that help to raise the quality and efficiency of the educational environment; in order to reach an excellent learning environment; and hence increasing students learning outcomes.  相似文献

The three-dimensional spin-1 Ising superlattice consisting of two different ferromagnetic materials with two different crystal fields Δ1Δ1 and Δ2Δ2 is considered in the mean field approximation. The phase diagrams are considered in the (t,d2t,d2) plane for different ranges of variation of d1(t=T/J,d1=Δ1/Jd1(t=T/J,d1=Δ1/J, d2=Δ2/Jd2=Δ2/J are the reduced temperature and crystal fields respectively). The phase diagrams exhibit a variety of multicritical points and reentrant and double reentrant behaviours. They are found to depend qualitatively and/or quantitatively on the thicknesses of the materials in a supercell. This has direct consequences on the nature of the magnetic states of superlattices with different thicknesses.  相似文献

In this paper, we discuss the existence and uniqueness of solutions for a new class of multi-point boundary value problems of multi-term fractional differential equations by using standard fixed point theorems. We also demonstrate the application of the obtained results with the aid of examples. The paper concludes with the study of multi-term fractional integro-differential equations supplemented with multi-point boundary conditions. Our results are new and contribute significantly to the existing literature on the topic.  相似文献
