The thiocarbohydrazone Schiff-base ligand with a nitrogen and sulphur donor was synthesized through condensation of pyridine-2-carbaldehyde and thiocarbohydrazide. Schiff-base ligands have the ability to conjugate with metal salts. A series of metal complexes with a general formula [MCl2(H2L)]·nH2O (MNi, Co, Cu and Zn) were synthesized by forming complexes of the N1,N5-bis[pyridine-2-methylene]-thiocarbohydrazone (H2L) Schiff-base ligand. These metal complexes and ligand were characterized by using ultraviolet-visible (UV-Vis), Fourier Transform Infrared (FT-IR), 1H and 13C NMR spectroscopy and mass spectroscopy, physicochemical characterization, CHNS and conductivity. The biological activity of the synthesized ligand was investigated by using Escherichia coli DNA as target. The DNA interaction of the synthesized ligand and complexes on E. coli plasmid DNA was investigated in the aqueous medium by UV-Vis spectroscopy and the binding constant (Kb) was calculated. The DNA binding studies showed that the metal complexes had an improved interaction due to trans-geometrical isomers of the complexes than ligand isomers in cis-positions.  相似文献

Liquid-phase dehydration of sorbitol has been investigated in wide reaction conditions especially under microwave irradiation in the presence of acidic resin catalysts. From the selectivity for sorbitan and isosorbide, it can be understood that the dehydration is a consecutive reaction (sorbitol to sorbitan, and finally to isosorbide) and that the sorbitan is an intermediate of the dehydration. By using microwave irradiation, the dehydration can be accelerated by around 20?C34 times compared with the rate by conventional electric heating at the same temperature, or the reaction temperature can be decreased by around 40 °C for the comparable conversion in a similar reaction time. However, the microwaves do not have noticeable effects on the selectivity for isosorbide or sorbitan. The accelerated dehydration under microwaves is mainly due to decreased activation energy.  相似文献

Growths of Lyngbya limnetica and Oscillatoria obscura were investigated at varying pH, light intensity, temperature, and trace element concentration with a view to optimize these parameters for obtaining the maximum carbohydrate content. The maximum growth for both strains was obtained at pH 9.0 and temperature 20 ± 3 °C using a light intensity of 68.0 μmol m?2 s?1 with continuous shaking. Growth under the nitrogen starvation condition affected the carbohydrate content more compared to the phosphorus starvation, and maximum concentrations were found as 0.660 and 0.621 g/g of dry biomass for L. limnetica and O. obscura, respectively. Under the optimized nitrogen-rich conditions, the specific growth rates for the two strains were found to be 0.187 and 0.215 day?1, respectively. The two-stage growth studies under nitrogen-rich (stage I) followed by nitrogen starvation (stage II) conditions were performed, and maximum biomass and carbohydrate productivity were found as 0.088 and 0.423 g L?1 day?1 for L. limnetica. This is the first ever attempt to evaluate and optimize various parameters affecting the growth of cyanobacterial biomass of L. limnetica and O. obscura as well as their carbohydrate contents.  相似文献

An attempt js made to study the behaviour of recoil128I atoms in neutron irradiated I2O5 at ambient temperature. The initial retention is found to be 44±2%. However, a substantial increase /57±2%/ in the value is observed upon heating the sample at 473 K for 1 h prior to irradiation. A kinetic study of post-recoil thermal annealing of neutron irradiated material is also presented. Effect of pre-heat treatment results in a decrease of rate constants and saturation retention values at respective temperatures while the Eact for the overall process remains almost unaltered.  相似文献

Some new low-spin hexacoordinated cyanonitrosyl complexes of Cr1 of the type [Cr(NO)(CN)2(L)2(H2)], where L is an aromatic aldehyde oxime or Mannich base, have been prepared by the interaction or K3[Cr(NO)(CN)5]· H2O with L in aqueous AcOH, and characterized by a range of physico-chemical techniques, I.r. data suggest that all the oxime derivatives and Mannich bases act as monodentate ligands by coordinating through the aromatic nitrogen. Cesium zirconate and cesium thorate were prepared by sol-gel method following citrate-nitrate route. The compounds were characterized by X-ray diffraction, chemical analysis and simultaneous TG-DTA. The methods of preparation of Cs2ZrO3 and Cs2ThO3 reported in literature involve difficult steps and require stringent experimental conditions for obtaining the compounds. In this work we report an easier method for the preparation of these compounds at relatively low temperature. Powder samples of UHMWPE (GUR 1020) containing 0.1% by wt. vitamin E (??-tocopherol, ??-T) were irradiated at room temperature in air for doses of 30-kGy, 65-kGy or 100-kGy (60Co). After irradiation, they were stored at ?78.5°C (dry ice temperature) for one year and then opened to air at room temperature. Following the decay of the primary alkyl and allyl radicals (at room temperature in air), growth of the carbon-centered polyenyl R1 (?·CH?CH=CH?, m ?? 3), and the oxygen-centered dior tri-enyl R2 (?·OCH?CH=CH? m , m ?? 3) residual radicals were measured for eight weeks. An X-band electron spin resonance (ESR) spectrometer was used for radical measurements. The initial relative radical concentrations (R2/R1) were found to be 10.13, 4.6 and 3.7 for the 65-kGy, 30-kGy and 100-kGy samples, respectively. R1 and R2 were both found to grow significantly in the 65-kGy samples while they grew only slightly in the 30-kGy and 100-kGy samples. In 65-kGy sample, R1 grew faster than R2 and the relative concentration R2/R1 was reduced from 10.13 to 2.9 for the 65-kGy sample while that for the 30-kGy and 100-kGy samples reduced only slightly, from 4.6 to 3.5 and 3.7 to 3.2, respectively. The behavior of the residual radicals can be explained by Raman spectroscopic data which suggest that the 65-kGy samples had a higher percentage of amorphous regions when compared to the 30-kGy or 100-kGy (21.7% compared to 15.7% or 17.9%) and also suggest a lower percentage of inter-phase regions (16.4% compared to 25.6% or 17.5%) and a lower level of structural disorder (0.26% compared to 0.44% or 0.27%).  相似文献

In the present work, single-walled carbon nanotubes (SWCNTs) were dispersed in a room temperature nematic liquid crystal 4-pentyl-4′-cyanobiphenyl at the concentration of 0.02 and 0.05 wt%. Differential scanning calorimetry and temperature-dependent dielectric studies suggest decrease in clearing temperature of the composite materials as compared to the pure material. Ionic conductivity increases by two orders of magnitude due to the dispersion of such a low concentration (0.05 wt%) of SWCNTs. Dielectric studies also show that the presence of the SWCNTs decreases the effective longitudinal as well as transverse components of the dielectric permittivity. For homeotropic aligned samples, a relaxation mechanism has been detected in the lower MHz region both for the pure as well as dispersed samples. Presence of SWCNTs increases the relaxation frequency corresponding to flip-flop motion of molecules around their short axes. From frequency-dependent dielectric studies, important dielectric parameters such as relaxation frequency, dielectric strength and distribution parameters have been determined. Electro-optical experiments show that the threshold voltage decreases and the steepness of the transmission voltage curve improves due to the dispersion of SWCNTs.  相似文献

The mechanism of scavenging superoxide radical anion ( ) by dihydrolipoic acid (diLA) in absence and presence of the enzyme Manganese‐superoxide dismutase (Mn‐SOD) has been investigated using density functional theory. Mn‐SOD was modelled by a complex of a manganese cation (Mn2+) bonded to three similar molecules having a histidine ring each and a water molecule. It has been shown that the scavenging mechanism involves double hydrogen abstraction by from different pairs of neighboring sites of diLA. It has been found that diLA alone cannot scavenge superoxide radical anions efficiently as the barrier energies involved in the reactions are very high. However, in presence of Mn‐SOD, owing to its catalytic action, the corresponding reactions become barrierless due to which superoxide radical anions would be scavenged highly efficiently. H2O2 formed from superoxide radical anion due to double hydrogen abstraction from diLA is scavenged by diLA alone barrierlessly without involving Mn‐SOD or any other catalyst.  相似文献
