Synthesis and coordination chemistry of a water-soluble verdazyl radical. structures and magnetic properties of M(H2O)2(vdCO2)(2).2H2O (M = Co,Ni; vdCO2 = 1,5-dimethyl-6-oxo-verdazyl-3-carboxylate)

The synthesis of a verdazyl radical with a carboxylate substituent renders the radical highly soluble in water, thereby permitting the aqueous synthesis of Ni(II) and Co(II) verdazyl complexes which have been structurally and magnetically characterized.

快淬法制备La_(0.8)Ce_(0.2)Fe_(11.4)Si_(1.6)合金的磁熵变研究

为了探求La系磁熵变材料的短时退火工艺,利用两种方法制备了磁制冷材料La0.8Ce0.2Fe11.4Si1.6合金,其一为将电弧熔炼合金退火5天(样品A),其二为将合金利用铜模铸造方法得到快淬样品,再退火2 h(样品B)。X射线衍射表明,样品A和B主相为NaZn13相结构。通过对比发现,尽管样品A的最大磁熵变值大于样品B的,但样品B在制冷温区和制冷能力方面优于样品A。因此,快淬加短时间热处理可以大大节省时间和能量,是一种制备La0.8Ce0.2Fe11.4Si1.6磁制冷材料的高效且性能优越的方法。     

On the viscosity of magnetic fluid with low and moderate solid fraction

The design of a pressurized capillary rheometer operating at prescribed temperature is described to measure the viscosity of magnetic fluids (MFs) containing Fe3O4 magnetic nanoparticles (MNPs). The equipment constant of the rheometer was obtained using liquids with predetermined viscosities. Experimentally measured viscosities were used to evaluate different equations for suspension viscosities. Deviation of measured suspension viscosities from the Einstein equation was found to be basically due to the influence of spatial distribution and aggregation of Fe3O4 MNPs. By taking account of the coating layer on MNPs and the aggregation of MNPs in MFs, a modified Einstein equation was proposed to fit the experimental data. Moreover, the influence of external magnetic field on viscosity was also taken into account. Viscosities thus predicted are in good agreement with experimental data. Temperature effect on suspension viscosity was shown experimentally to be due to the shear-thinning behavior of the MFs.     

Photo-induced synthesis and in vitro biological activity of a Sansalvamide A analog

Photoinduced single electron transfer (SET) cyclization processes for synthesis of a Sansalvamide A analog containing double pharmacophores (cyclicpeptides and O-phthalimide moiety) is described to develop novel antitumor cyclopeptide drug. The resultant compound is active in drug-sensitive HeLa, HepG-2 and MCF-7 cell lines. Specifically, the title compound was found to inhibit MCF-7 cells with an IC₅₀ value of 15 μM (13.4 μg/mL), which may serve as a potential candidate for antitumor drug development.
