Fluorescence oscillation is observed in an ensemble of colloidal CdSe/ZnS core/shell quantum dots (QDs) dispersed in nonpolar solvent under continuous irradiation. The QDs dispersed in toluene gradually aggregate and change their fluorescence intensity, even in the dark. During the aggregation, the QD/toluene suspension is unstable, that is, overdispersed. The fluorescence oscillation is found only in this unstable state before the system reaches steady state. In addition, the aggregation rate is promoted by irradiation and strongly correlates with the oscillation amplitude. Our experimental results indicate that the dispersion instability plays an important role in both linear and nonlinear dynamics of the fluorescence. It is inferred from the experimental results and previous studies that the complex time evolution of fluorescence in the QD/toluene dispersion is possibly due to adsorption and desorption of surface ligand molecules over the course of QD aggregation.  相似文献

'Non-covalent synthesis' of novel chiral hosts (calix[6]arene-chiral amine complexes) and its application to enantiomeric discrimination was investigated by (1)H NMR spectroscopy. The topology of a ternary complex was proposed for the calix[6]arene-amine-sulfoxide to rationalize the chiral recognition.  相似文献

Two bicyclic hexapeptides, allo‐RA‐V ( 4 ) and neo‐RA‐V ( 5 ), and one cyclic hexapeptide, O‐seco‐RA‐V ( 6 ), were isolated from the roots of Rubia cordifolia L. Their gross structures were elucidated on the basis of spectroscopic analysis and X‐ray crystallography of compound 5 . The absolute stereochemistry of compounds 4 and 5 were established by their total syntheses, and the absolute stereochemistry of compound 6 by chemical correlation with deoxybouvardin ( 3 ). Comparison of the 3D structures of highly active RA‐VII ( 1 ) with less‐active compounds 4 and 5 suggests that the orientation of the Tyr‐5 and/or Tyr‐6 phenyl rings plays a significant role in their biological activity. The isolation of peptides 4 – 6 , along with compound 3 , and the comparison of their structures seem to indicate that peptide 6 may be the common precursor to bicyclic peptides 3 – 5 in the plant.  相似文献

When a mixture of liquid crystal (LC) and photo reactive monomer is irradiated by UV light, polymerization occurs and LC droplets form through phase separation, producing polymer dispersed LCs (PDLCs). Although size control of LC droplets and reduced amounts of LC in PDLC films are important in applications, precise size control of LC droplets at a low LC fraction has not yet been accomplished. In this study, the phase diagrams of the LC/initial monomer and the LC/polymer during polymerization were used to control LC droplet size at various LC fractions. Both the relative position of the sample in the initial phase diagram and the shift of the phase separation line during polymerization were shown to be important in determining the size of LC droplets. Our results are expected to provide a new strategy for precise size control of LC droplets especially at a low LC fraction range, which would be a great help for PDLC applications. © 2012 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. We previously theorized that, since the stereoselectivity of anomeric radical reactions is significantly influenced by the kinetic anomeric effect, which can be controlled by restricting the conformation of the radical intermediate, the proper conformational restriction of the pyranose ring of the substrates would therefore make highly alpha- and beta-stereoselective anomeric radical reactions possible. This theory was based on our previous results of the anomeric radical reactions with d-xylose derivatives as the substrates. We herein report the anomeric radical deuteration reactions with the conformationally restricted 1-phenylseleno-d-glucose derivatives, 2g and 3g, restricted in a (4)C(1)-conformation by an O-cyclic diketal moiety, and 4g, 5g, 6g, 7g, and 8g, restricted in a (1)C(4)-conformation by bulky O-silyl protecting groups. The radical deuterations with Bu(3)SnD, using the (4)C(1)-restricted substrates 2g and 3g, afforded the corresponding alpha-products (alpha/beta = 98:2) highly stereoselectively, whereas the (1)C(4)-restricted substrate 6g, having a trigonal (sp(2)) carbon substituent, i.e., -CHO, at the 5-position, selectively gave the beta-products (alpha/beta = 0:100). Thus, the stereoselectivity was significantly increased by the conformational restriction and was completely inverted by changing the substrate conformation from the (4)C(1)-form to the (1)C(4)-form. On the other hand, the deuterations with the (1)C(4)-restricted substrates 4g and 5g showed that the 1,5-steric effect due to the tetrahedral carbon substituent (-CH(2)OTIPS or -CH(2)OH) at the 5-axial position dominantly prevented the hydride transfer from the beta-face competing with the kinetic anomeric effect. This study suggests that, depending on the restricted conformation of the substrates to the (4)C(1)- or the (1)C(4)-form, the alpha- or beta-products would be obtained highly stereoselectively via anomeric radical reactions of hexopyranoses.  相似文献

Laboratory- and rotating- frame spin-lattice relaxation times (T(1) and T(1rho)) of (1)H and (13)C in lyophilized poly(vinylpyrrolidone) (PVP) and methylcellulose (MC) are determined to examine feasibility of using T(1) and T(1rho) as a measure of molecular motions on large time scales related to the storage stability of lyophilized formulations. The T(1rho) of proton and carbon was found to reflect the mobility of PVP and MC backbones, indicating that it is useful as a measure of large-time-scale molecular motions. In contrast to the T(1rho), the T(1) of proton measured in the same temperature range reflected the mobility of PVP and MC side chains. The T(1) of proton may be useful as a measure of local molecular motions on a smaller-time-scale, although the measurement is interfered by moisture under some conditions. The temperature dependence of T(1) and T(1rho) indicated that methylene in the MC molecule had much higher mobility than that in the dextran molecule, also indicated that methylene in the PVP side chain had a higher mobility than that in the MC side chain.  相似文献

Single puffs of cigarette smoke with a wide continuous range of volatility are directly analyzed using a new system. The system consists of a smoking machine, an online thermal desorption system (TDS), and a multidimensional gas chromatograph-mass spectrometer (MDGC-MS) system. The online TDS with the smoking machine collects the single-puff cigarette smoke with glass beads as the cryogenic adsorbent. The MDGC is composed of three capillary columns, Poraplot Q, and DB-WAX for separation and a deactivated capillary column for pressure balance, which enables simultaneous separation of the two different phases. The smoke desorbed from the TDS is divided into vapor and semivolatile phases and analyzed individually with each column by the MDGC. Thus, the system enables the overall analysis of the two phases simultaneously, including acetaldehyde and 1,4-benzenediol. This system also provides more appropriate analysis for compounds crossing the two phases such as toluene and pyridine. For the approach of introducing internal standards, a gas mixture of toluene-d(8) and o-xylene-d(10) is applied and the compounds are detected in the vapor and semivolatile phases, respectively.  相似文献
